MUSKEGON, MI – The Muskegon city manager’s “coronavirus economic relief” effort that involved the purchase of about $200,000 in gift cards primarily from local restaurants is under legal review.
City commissioners on Tuesday, July 28, cried foul over the purchase of the gift cards that they did not approve.
...The city ended up buying about $195,000 worth of cards from 36 restaurants in the city, the only industry closed by executive order on March 17 – the same day the gift card program was implemented.
How the cards will be distributed remains to be determined.
Gift card amounts ranged from $3,000 to $7,000 per establishment.

They would "ask questions" -- really lob unfounded accusations -- and then cut off Barr as he attempted to answer. 
They would shout "I'm reclaiming my time!" as a way of telling Barr to shut up, as they did not want his answers to count against their five minutes of time.

I wondered why Barr didn't just walk out of the hearing.

I think that obese malignant dwarf Jerry Nadler might have actually tried instructing the Sergeant of Arms of the House to put Barr under arrest if he tried to leave.

FLINT, MI - Flint Clerk Inez Brown has deputized some city residents to retrieve absentee ballots and set up four locations where completed ballots can be dropped off for counting in advance of the Aug. 4 primary election.
“I have deputized individuals who will be going into the community based on phone calls we have received to pick up the ballots of individuals who may not have time to bring them in or who may be incapacitated,” Brown said during a news conference Tuesday, July 28.
“It’s not the first time we have done it. We have done it in the past ... We do not want people to have their ballot and not be able to get it to us.”
The clerk did not say how many citizens have been or will be authorized to pick up ballots from voters, but said there are “quite a few” and said the service can be requested by calling her office at 810-766-7414...

Washington, D.C., Mayor Muriel Bower has unveiled a list of 27 states deemed “high-risk areas” -- meaning those traveling from them must self-quarantine for 14 days if arriving in the nation's capital.

As part of the District's effort to contain the coronavirus pandemic, the quarantine requirement was officially announced via an order from Bowser on Friday that did not specify which states were affected. It defined “high-risk areas” as “locations where the [seven-day] moving average daily new COVID-19 case rate is ... 10 or more per ... 100,000 persons.” 

Not that this is going to interfere with Sharpton's 100,000 man hate rally.

Rev. Al Sharpton’s National Action Network (NAN) has scheduled a march (Aug. 28) with an estimated 100,000 participants, 1,000 buses, a host of jumbotrons and lighting equipment, and at least 10 tents on or near the National Mall, according to a permit application from early June obtained by DCist.

• Ten percent of counties account for nearly 90 percent of all deaths.
• Roughly 30 percent of the counties in the country haven’t experienced a single coronavirus death.
• Nearly half of all coronavirus deaths have come in nursing homes.
• In many states, nursing homes and assisted living facilities account for far more than half of all deaths—around 80 percent in Minnesota and around 70 percent in Ohio.
• More than 80 percent of all Covid-19 deaths are among those over 65 years old.
• Those aged under 55 account for just eight percent of all Covid-19 deaths.
• If you are 34 years old or younger, your probability of dying from Covid-19 as of June 3rd was 0.0005 percent.
