See the source imageFLINT, MI - Flint Clerk Inez Brown has deputized some city residents to retrieve absentee ballots and set up four locations where completed ballots can be dropped off for counting in advance of the Aug. 4 primary election.
“I have deputized individuals who will be going into the community based on phone calls we have received to pick up the ballots of individuals who may not have time to bring them in or who may be incapacitated,” Brown said during a news conference Tuesday, July 28.
“It’s not the first time we have done it. We have done it in the past ... We do not want people to have their ballot and not be able to get it to us.”
The clerk did not say how many citizens have been or will be authorized to pick up ballots from voters, but said there are “quite a few” and said the service can be requested by calling her office at 810-766-7414...
