Bad optics: Walmart scandal exposes deeper immigration hiring abuses * WorldNetDaily * by Amanda Bartolotta

The current bribery scandal is not an isolated event, but rather is a flashpoint that pulls back the curtain on years of questionable hiring practices. From kickback schemes to vendor favoritism, to its deep ties with Indian outsourcing partners, Walmart's immigration history is riddled with red flags. The company's public denial will not erase the growing perception that Walmart has been part of the broader pattern of visa abuse undermining U.S. workers. Walmart's Immigration Profile:

Europe's open borders, welfare largess has it facing disaster: Will it shift course?

Mass protests are now common in Britain against the Labour Party’s open borders policies and generous welfare entitlements for immigrants who arrive illegally and without authentic “political refugee” status. - Victor Davis Hanson
Until recently, European politicians and the media sought to either ignore such news or accuse those who clamored for tighter borders, more police protection and stiffer penalties of being “racists” or “xenophobes.”
Until recently, that is...
  • Too many immigrants are arriving too quickly, without sufficient diversity, language fluency, skills or familiarity with the customs and culture of their host nations...
  • Yet there is no European plan of civic education to assimilate immigrants and teach them the rules, laws and culture of their hosts.
  • It is then no surprise that what follows is ghettoization, resentment and loud attacks on the very nation in which they seek sanctuary, denouncing it as decadent and godless...

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) plans to continue creating novel pandemic viruses in apparent defiance of an executive order signed by President Donald Trump calling for a crackdown on the research, according to three government sources involved with the process, who were granted anonymity to avoid government reprisals.

Biosafety hawks have been duking it out with officials at the NIH, the Pentagon and the Department of Homeland Security as an interagency group finalizes Trump's policy on dangerous gain-of-function (GOF) research — which makes viruses more deadly in the lab. Per the executive order, the policy on federal GOF research is due Sept. 2. Three intelligence agencies have concluded that a lab accident sparked COVID-19.

Victor Davis Hanson: Leftists Push Harmful Racial Stereotypes and Face No Consequences

Recently, former MSNBC host Joy Reid blasted white people on her podcast, saying “they can’t invent anything.”
A few years ago, a prominent writer for The New Yorker magazine regularly posted hateful things about white people on her social media.

It’s potentially very damaging when individuals say these kinds of things from positions of influence and power—such as a former MSNBC anchor and The New Yorker magazine writer—and aren’t called out for it.
  • This double standard is certainly noticeable because if white people said any of this about other ethnic groups, there would be zero tolerance for that kind of rhetoric.

Fed chair's Jackson Hole speech opens door to potential rate cuts | Fox News

Last Friday in Jackson Hole, Federal Reserve Chairman Jay Powell finally – and grudgingly – admitted what the Trump team has been saying all along: tariffs don’t fuel inflation.
At most, tariffs create a one-time adjustment in prices, not the kind of runaway spiral that demands punishing rate hikes.
And even that one-time bump may be negligible if, as we have long argued, foreign exporters – not American consumers – shoulder most or all of the burden.
  • The implication is clear: whether the impact is zero or merely a one-time step-up in prices, there is absolutely no justification for the Fed to hide behind "tariff uncertainty" as an excuse for overly restrictive interest-rate policy...
