NY Times Reporter Says the Obama Admin. Is the ‘Greatest Enemy of Press Freedom’ In a ‘Generation’ | TheBlaze.com

NY Times Reporter Says the Obama Admin. Is the ‘Greatest Enemy of Press Freedom’ In a ‘Generation’ | TheBlaze.com:

"President Barack Obama’s administration is the “greatest enemy of press freedom that we have encountered in a generation,” a New York Times reporter said over the weekend, according to a journalism news outlet.

Reporter James Risen — currently fighting the government in an effort to protect a confidential source — reportedly added that the administration wants to “narrow the field of national security reporting” to “create a path for accepting reporting.”

Those who do not comply “will be punished,” he reportedly said."

Detroit, don't tare down that wall....er....arena---------Don't be too hasty about the arena deal

KEITH CRAIN: Don't be too hasty about the arena deal | Crain's Detroit Business:

"Everything about the plans for the new location and stadium for the Detroit Red Wings is happening.

In a couple of years, we'll have a new arena to play hockey.

But one of the conditions of this deal is that after the Red Wings move to their new, tax-funded arena, no events may be held at Joe Louis Arena.

We have to tear it down. "

Russian Politician Suggests Dividing Ukraine Along Lines Of Nazi-Soviet Pact, Proposes West Ukraine Referendum | Zero Hedge:

"Because while the west scrambles to find a way to punish Russia for openly flaunting its relentless hollow threats by annexing Crimea, Zhirinovsky is back and has a "modest proposal" for Ukraine, and the countries neighboring the troubled former USSR territory: namely dividing the country along the lines of an infamous Nazi-Soviet pact, suggesting that regions in Western Ukraine hold referendums on breaking away from Kiev. The Democratic Civil War Over Energy - WSJ.com:
"The letter was revealing for its honesty.
Not so long ago enviros endorsed natural gas as a cleaner alternative to coal or oil.
Most limited themselves to calling for "better" industry practices, or to solely opposing exports.

But as the gas rush has grown, threatening their solar-and-windmill nirvana, greens now openly decry drilling, chiding Mr. Obama for his "support for hydraulic fracturing" and calling on him to keep "our nation's fossil fuel reserves in the ground."

The letter was signed by Bill McKibben, the director of the anti-Keystone outfit 350.org, as well as directors of nearly every major green shop in the country—the Sierra Club, the Center for Biological Diversity, CREDO and Earthjustice."

Stop, Start or Please Do Nothing!

Stop, Start or Please Do Nothing! - Terry Paulson - Page full:
"When some blame the GOP for being a "Do Nothing" Congress," they might first look at the hundreds of laws passed by the House that the Democrat-controlled-Senate refuses to even consider.
But in some ways, the "Do Nothing" label is a badge of honor.
Conservatives want government to do less and to free citizens to do more.
The Left wants more government intervention, more regulations, and more special entitlements.
President Obama promises to use his pen; many wish a conservative Congress could wield a targeted eraser!
Here's my Stop/Start list for Washington."

Common Core is for your kids not children of Bill Gates

Common Core is for your kids not children of Bill Gates | The Daily Caller:
"Billionaire software tycoon Bill Gates has poured millions of dollars into efforts to develop and promote the Common Core State Standards Initiative, a set of K-12 math and language arts curriculum benchmarks and high-stakes standardized tests now being implemented in 46 states.
Strangely enough, though, Common Core isn’t quite good enough for Gates and his wife, Melinda, when it comes to the education of their own three children."

The same is true of Washington, D.C., which is set to hold a primary in its mayoral election next week.

Judicial Watch is threatening legal action against the two states and the nation’s capital if immediate steps aren’t taken to clear the voter rolls of dead voters, voters who have moved away or voters that that have become ineligible for other reasons.

States and municipalities are required to keep legitimate roils under Section 8 of the National Voter Registration Act, better known as the Motor Voter Law enacted in 1993."

Climate scientists refuse to debate global warming ‘skeptics’ in the media

Climate scientists refuse to debate global warming ‘skeptics’ in the media | The Daily Caller:
"Climate scientists and environmentalists are venting their frustrations debating those who are skeptical of man-made global warming — and some have even gone so far as to refuse debating skeptics.
Dan Weiss, the director of climate strategy at the liberal Center for American Progress, refused to appear on Fox Business to debate climate skeptic Marc Morano last week. Morano runs the blog Climate Depot, where he reports on environment and climate news.

Weiss was set to debate Morano on the show “The Independents” but “refused to debate directly with Morano, and chided [the show] for airing his views,” according to the Fox Business show."

Green Card Holders Not Qualified For Medicare Are Eligible For ObamaCare

Green Card Holders Not Qualified For Medicare Are Eligible For ObamaCare:
Green card holders who do not qualify for Medicare will qualify for Obamacare and any relevant federal subsidy. They may also qualify for Medicaid, depending upon their location.
One needs to have worked a total of 40 quarters (10 years) in the United States to qualify for Medicare.
U.S. citizens and lawful permanent residents at least age 65, who have been here five years, may buy into Medicare if they don’t have the work history. Individuals who qualify to buy-in to Medicare can choose to participate in Medicare or buy Obamacare insurance.
Those qualified for “premium free” Medicare or Medicaid do not qualify for Obamacare.
Geography matters when it comes to Medicaid, "a need-based health insurance program for individuals with little or no income.
In some states, including South Carolina, you cannot get full Medicaid until you have been a permanent resident for five years.
You can however, get Medicaid reimbursement for emergency services.
In some states, including New York, all permanent residents who meet the income qualifications can get Medicaid."

Miami-Dade Schools & Education Data Fraud

Miami-Dade Schools & Education Data Fraud ‹ Campus Beast:
Lies, damned lies, and statistics.
As a school superintendent, you’re typically measured by a few numbers. Test scores, graduation rates, crime rates, finances, gaps in student achievement, and perhaps a few other metrics, depending on your board of education. You can actually tackle these problems, or you can employ the dark art of data manipulation
In 2012, a news story exploded onto the national stage that was very instructive in how to magically lower school crime statistics – yet nearly every major news outlet missed it.
The story begins with the ways to magically lower crime stats.
1. Maximize control. Expand your “school police” – expanding your control over what happens within schools, including the crimes, also expands your ability to commit and cover up fraud. The key: make everyone within a school, including the police, report to you.
Now that you’ve expanded your control, you can proceed with the cover-ups.
2. Don’t report the crimes. For anything less than murder, it simply doesn’t get reported, doesn’t get reported correctly, or doesn’t get reported with a student name attached. No name, no details, no crime. Just a crime-free occurrence, stolen property without a perpetrator, accident without incident.
3. Manipulate the law. Transform police documents into “student records.” Student records are protected by FERPA and aren’t available to the public and can’t be FOIA’d, which means that no one other than a judge can gain access. All your school crime stats can then be swept under the rug, and all your scheming is protected by federal law. Convenient.
4. Convert crime into a mental health issue. And Baker Act the kid. Transform crimes into mental health issues, which then becomes further protected from public scrutiny.
Now imagine this scenario. A crime occurs at a house where someone breaks in and steals a significant amount of jewelry. Shortly thereafter, a student at a high school a few blocks away from the crime scene is discovered with that jewelry and a large flat screwdriver, what police officially describe as “a burglary tool.” The student reports that he does not own the mostly women’s jewelry and that he will not or cannot name the person who does. What should happen?
At the very least, the police would submit a report and confiscate the jewelry, which would then be linked to the crime and land the student in court. Most probably, the student would have been arrested. That’s what would happen if the person in charge wasn’t a political hack scheming to rig numbers at the expense of students and the public. But unfortunately for the public at large, Miami-Dade Superintendent Alberto Carvalho was in charge, so the jewelry was confiscated, but no criminal report was produced, no link to the crime, no charges, no arrest. The report on the confiscated jewelry doesn’t even mention the student’s name.
This was most unfortunate for that student, Trayvon Martin.Had Superintendent Carvalho been interested in enforcing the law – not to mention obeying the law – and teaching students about consequences, Trayvon Martin would have been in juvenile detention instead of buying Skittles and getting shot.
Alberto Carvalho just won Superintendent of the Year, and his numbers appear to be impressive. So we decided to do something that the Broad Foundation, The School Superintendent’s Association, and apparently his own Board of Education have failed to do: actually dig into the data and find out what’s going on.

Temple Student Attacked With Brick | NBC 10 Philadelphia:

A 19-year-old Temple University student suffered serious facial injuries after an attacker hit her with a brick only a block from campus Friday.
The student was walking with her 20-year-old boyfriend, who also attends Temple, near 16th and Norris streets around 6 p.m. when a group of about 10 teens and young children began taunting them, according to sources.
The group of attackers consisted of boys and girls ranging in age from about 8 to 14-years-old, according to the victim's boyfriend.
"A couple of them started to grab at her earrings and her hair," he said. "My instinct was to stop them from hurting us and leave and get away."
He says he asked the group to back off, but his request went unheard as a female member of the group took a brick and smashed his 19-year-old girlfriend in the face.
"Her teeth were out of place," he said. "It was terrible, it was terrifying."
The victim's teeth were dislocated and she suffered multiple other facial injuries.

Downtown assaults by group of teens probed:
"Louisville police are investigating a series of assaults by a roving group of teens in the downtown that a spokesman said sent at least two people to University Hospital Saturday night.
Spokesman Dwight Mitchell said the incidents started about 9 p.m. and involved about 10 to 15 teens assaulting apparently random victims in seven or eight incidents.
The first incident occurred near the Big Four Bridge.
A woman was attacked in the restroom of a gas station at First and Jefferson streets and was taken to University Hospital with serious injuries, he said.
Another incident occurred near The Courier-Journal, 525 W. Broadway, where a man was attacked and taken to University with unknown injuries, Mitchell said.
Several cars in the vicinity of The Courier-Journal were vandalized, but it is unknown if those acts were linked to the roving assaults.
Mitchell said details were sketchy as of almost 11 p.m. and he hoped to release more information Sunday."

No Justice Department Charges Against Ohio Woman Who Voted Six Times for Obama

No Justice Department Charges Against Ohio Woman Who Voted Six Times for Obama
Last week Al Sharpton embraced convicted vote fraudster Melowese Richardson at a “voting rights” rally in Cincinnati.
The United States Department of Justice under Eric Holder has done nothing to Melowese Richardson 410 days after she admitted on camera that she committed multiple federal felonies by voting six times for President Obama’s reelection.
Federal law makes it a felony to vote more than once for President.
In fact, 42 U.S.C. Section 1973i(e) subjects Richardson to twenty-five years in federal prison for her six votes for Obama.
The lack of DOJ action against an unrepentant federal vote fraudster combined with Richardson’s lionization by Sharpton and the organization that sponsored the rally demonstrates how the Justice Department is facilitating a culture of brazen criminality on the eve of the 2014 midterm elections.
The failure to indict Richardson is the latest example of Holder’s department excusing lawlessness in federal elections and abandoning law abiding Americans..
The information is dated. But you get the point.

The Profound Arrogant Ignorance and Stupidity of Liberals in Charge

Articles: The Profound Arrogant Ignorance and Stupidity of Liberals in Charge:
"The recent Twitter kerfuffle between Matt Drudge and the Obama/media/academic complex over the ObamaCare tax demonstrates in plain view and without question something many of us have known for years: while the organized left insist that they are the only ones smart enough to run the world, they remain astonishingly ignorant of how it works.
They’re even ignorant of how the most fundamental parts of laws that they champion operate.

......But forget low-information voters for just a minute; the malignancy that is really destroying this country is low-information people with high-profile power and/or influence.
You know, people who would lobby for, comment on, advocate for, or vote on laws like ObamaCare without any understanding of its real-world impact.
Such felonies are then carried out by low-information bureaucratic microbes with the power to destroy lives and businesses with impunity, and a political and talking-head class with the access and sway to codify these common malfeasances.
Destruction of private property and liberty – and these two concepts are not divisible – takes place in government cubicles every minute of every day across the country.
And why not?
We have a low-information president, who has appointed a low-information cabinet, including the low-information secretary of health and human services who is applying a low-information health care law (one of many such laws) behind the big power of a low-morality Internal Revenue Service.

The result of all of this low information in power is a low-liberty nation..."

Most at one point in their career rely on armed security to handle all their safety needs.
If only we were all like Beyoncé, then we could marry a very rich man (and ex-criminal) who has an arsenal.

Bottom line:
The argument ends with “Guns are bad. Guns kill people.
End of story.”
But we know that these asshats are living a lie.
I can’t think of a single television network that is housed in a building that’s considered a “gun-free zone.”
This is where the cool are really dangerous:
They embrace symbolic, worthless goals like gun-free zones and banning ornamental rifle add-ons as a measure of achievement, unaware that their fact-free opinions may in fact be part of our safety problem.
Those opinions are making everyone less safe.
A “gun-free zone” is the safest place for a maniac to kill people.

Louisiana bans use of welfare benefits for tattoos, lingerie, jewelry

Louisiana bans use of welfare benefits for tattoos, lingerie, jewelry | Fox News:
"DCFS Secretary Suzy Sonnier said the agency decided to ban the use of electronic benefit cards, which work as debit cards, at stores that don't sell items that are considered basic needs for families.

"This rule will not affect families who currently use the program as intended, which is to provide food, shelter and clothing for families," Sonnier said in a statement.
About 3,500 households in Louisiana receive welfare benefits, and about 2,400 households get kinship care subsidies, according to the department. Average payments are $192 per month for welfare and $419 a month for kinship care.
The emergency regulations come a week after WAFB-TV in Baton Rouge reported that an Ascension Parish lingerie store posted a sign noting that it accepted the welfare benefits card along with most credit cards."

BREAKING: Idaho governor signs emergency legislation nullifying all future federal gun laws

BREAKING: Idaho governor signs emergency legislation nullifying all future federal gun laws | Ben Swann Truth In Media:
BOISE, March 21, 2014 – On Thursday, Idaho Governor Butch Otter (R) signed a bill, which would effectively nullify future federal gun laws, by prohibiting state enforcement of any future federal act relating to personal firearms, a firearm accessories or ammunition.
S1332 passed the house by a vote of 68-0 and the senate by a vote of 34-0. Alaska and Kansas have also passed similar laws.
Erich Pratt, Director of Communications for Gun Owners of America, cheered the governor’s action. “By signing this nullification bill into law, Idaho has joined an elite class of states that are telling the feds to ‘get lost’ — especially when it comes to unconstitutional gun control infringements”
Introduced by the State Affairs Committee, the Idaho Federal Firearm, Magazine and Register Ban Enforcement Act, will:
“protect Idaho law enforcement officers from being directed, through federal executive orders, agency orders, statutes, laws, rules, or regulations enacted or promulgated on or after the effective date of this act, to violate their oath of office and Idaho citizens’ rights under Section 11, Article I, of the Constitution of the State of Idaho.”

Democratic Legislators Take Bribes to Oppose Voter ID—And Get Away With It

Democratic Legislators Take Bribes to Oppose Voter ID—And Get Away With It:

"This week, The Philadelphia Inquirer revealed that the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office caught at least four Philadelphia-area legislators taking multiple bribes ranging from a few hundred dollars to thousands in cash and Tiffany jewelry. Uncovered as part of a sting operation, these bribes were given to Philadelphia Democrats in exchange for votes or contracts, including opposition to Pennsylvania’s proposed voter ID law.
These findings are the result of over 400 hours of video and audio recordings obtained over the course of a three-year investigation that started in 2010 under then-Attorney General Tom Corbett, a Republican. Despite this solid evidence obtained from a thorough investigation, current Attorney General Kathleen Kane, a Democrat, secretly dropped the case in 2013, allowing these elected officials to get away with corruption that attacks the very heart of representative government.

Why the Media Doesn’t Cover Jihadist Attacks on Middle East Christians

Why the Media Doesn’t Cover Jihadist Attacks on Middle East Christians | Raymond Ibrahim:
“To their loss they are crucifying the Son of God all over again and subjecting Him to public disgrace”—Hebrews 6:6
The United Nations, Western governments, media, universities, and talking heads everywhere insist that Palestinians are suffering tremendous abuses from the state of Israel.
Conversely, the greatest human rights tragedy of our time—radical Muslim persecution of Christians, including in Palestinian controlled areas—is devotedly ignored.
The facts speak for themselves. Reliable estimates indicate that anywhere from 100-200 million Christians are persecuted every year; one Christian is martyred every five minutes.
Approximately 85% of this persecution occurs in Muslim majority nations.
In 1900, 20% of the Middle East was Christian.
Today, less than 2% is.
In one week in Egypt alone, where my Christian family emigrated, the Muslim Brotherhood launched akristallnacht—attacking, destroying, and/or torching some 82 Christian churches (some of which were built in the 5th century, when Egypt was still a Christian-majority nation before the Islamic conquests).

Al-Qaeda’s black flag has been raised atop churches.

Christians—including priests, women and children—have been attacked, beheaded, and killed.
......There, is of course, a very important reason why the mainstream media ignores radical Muslim persecution of Christians: if the full magnitude of this phenomenon was ever know, many cornerstones of the mainstream media—most prominent among them, that Israel is oppressive to Palestinians—would immediately crumble.

Why?
Because radical Muslim persecution of Christians throws a wrench in the media’s otherwise well-oiled narrative that “radical-Muslim-violence-is-a-product-of-Muslim-grievance”—chief among them Israel.

Consider it this way: because the Jewish state is stronger than its Muslim neighbors, the media can easily portray Islamic terrorists as frustrated “underdogs” doing whatever they can to achieve “justice.”
No matter how many rockets are shot into Tel Aviv by Hamas and Hezbollah, and no matter how anti-Israeli bloodlust is articulated in radical Islamic terms, the media will present such hostility as ironclad proof that Palestinians under Israel are so oppressed that they have no choice but to resort to terrorism.

However, if radical Muslims get a free pass when their violence is directed against those stronger than them, how does one rationalize away their violence when it is directed against those weaker than them—in this case, millions of indigenous Christians?
The media simply cannot portray radical Muslim persecution of Christians—which in essence and form amount to unprovoked pogroms—as a “land dispute” or a product of “grievance” (if anything, it is the ostracized and persecuted Christian minorities who should have grievances).
And because the media cannot articulate radical Islamic attacks on Christians through the “grievance” paradigm that works so well in explaining the Arab-Israeli conflict, their main recourse is not to report on them at all.
