A History Lesson

By Tammy Derouin

In today’s world, I don’t get many opportunities to combine my love of history with historical truth on the big screen.  Dinesh D’Souza has done for history and truth what George Lucas and Steven Spielberg did for sci-fi and adventure; he makes it come alive. You feel the pain, glory, betrayal and the triumph of the people and events which make up our history.  In D’Souza’s last film, America, he challenged our imaginations.  What if the American Revolution failed?  What if George Washington would have died in battle?  Thankfully, it was a success and many generations have known the blessings of liberty.

Today we face a very real threat, a possibility I would have never imagined possible.  Will America fall?   Many individuals have leading roles in this grand production being orchestrated.  These characters, which are all too real, wish to produce the greatest tragedy of the modern era, the collapse of the United States of America.  Hillary’s America is beyond a political movie, it’s a history lesson.  Sadly, many people will not attend this highly educational film.  It will be their loss which will ultimately be our loss.

The world of make believe is created for our entertainment.  While the stories may be fictional, the classic battle of good versus evil remains the same.  The heroes and villains are easy to identify....

This is BIG!!-----Michigan’s Pension Underfunding Problem

Michigan’s Pension Underfunding Problem [Mackinac Center]:
"Pension systems across Michigan are facing a crisis that threatens workers, retirees, businesses, taxpayers and residents who rely on public services.
For decades, state legislators and governors, Republican and Democrat, have promised billions more in pensions than has been saved to pay for them.
Last year, the state put roughly $2 billion towards pension benefits of its largest pension system and unfunded liabilities still grew.
This repeated underfunding has led to large liabilities that will require severe cuts to public services..."

A short, politically incorrect climate conversation

A short, politically incorrect climate conversation:
"I recently sat next to a woman on a flight from Houston which began with pleasantries regarding the purposes of our trip.
When asked whether mine was for business or pleasure, I said that it combined a bit of both.
I explained that I was on my way to do a media interview.
That led her to ask what it was that I do, to which I answered that I’m in the habit of writing quite a lot about topics that vary considerably, but frequently address stuff about climate and energy . . . often many politically incorrect aspects.
She asked, “You aren’t like that guy in Ohio that doesn’t believe in climate change, are you?”
I responded that I don’t personally know anyone who doesn’t think that climate changes, but there may be one in Ohio that I have yet to meet.
Seems to me that climate change has been going on for quite a while . . . billions of years in fact.
Global temperatures were at least just as warm about 2,000 years ago during the “Roman Warm Period” when popular fashions featured cool-looking sandals and togas.
Conditions were much the same again during the “Medieval warm period” about a thousand years later....
She: “...How can anyone deny the influence of the record levels of CO2 we are polluting the atmosphere with?” (Lots more "fun with morons" here!)
....That abruptly ended our chat.
My seatmate promptly returned to reading a Rolling Stone magazine Bernie Sanders feature.
The rest of that flight was very quiet.
I even got some sleep."

Paul Albaugh: Death and Hillary Clinton

Paul Albaugh: Death and Hillary Clinton — The Patriot Post:
"For as long as the Clintons have been in the national spotlight, people linked to them have turned up dead.
We’re sure that’s only the stuff of mythology among the “vast right-wing conspiracy,” but this week brings news of more of the same.
Despite FBI and Leftmedia attempts to keep Americans as uninformed as possible about Hillary Clinton’s history of corruption and lies, there is new information about the death of an Iranian nuclear scientist named Shahram Amiri.
Normally, the death of a foreigner wouldn’t catch the attention of many Americans.
But in this case, Amiri was in contact with Clinton via email, and the circumstances and timing of his death are more than suspicious...
...Did Clinton’s emails seal this man’s fate?
Image result for The Clinton DeathListAs National Review’s Jim Geraghty notes, “[I]t’s unnerving to see she was discussing such material on an insecure system. We don’t know for certain that the Iranians had successfully hacked into Clinton’s server — as FBI Director Comey said, hackers are good at covering their tracks — but it seems foolish to assume Tehran could not. Friendly references to Amiri in private email by Hillary and her staff would destroy his claims to his captors that he wasn’t voluntarily helping American intelligence.”
There are other untimely, mysterious deaths in the last six weeks as well — all with ties to the Clintons.
Last week, there were two deaths within two days.
The first was a prominent Clinton critic, researcher and reporter for the American Free Press named Victor Thorn.
He was found in his home, dead of a gunshot wound to the head, in what has been reported as a suicide.
It was his 54th birthday.
The second was a Bernie Sanders supporter named Shawn Lucas, who was serving the Democrat National Committee and former DNC chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz with a class action lawsuit for alleged fraud and rigging the primary election in favor of Hillary Clinton.
He was found dead on Aug. 2, on the floor of his bathroom.
There are several others who have died strange and untimely deaths with unsatisfactory explanation. But the common denominator is that they were somehow tied to or knew something about the Clintons and had either reported or were about to blow the whistle on their wrongdoings.
It feels like the 1990s all over again, when Vince Foster and numerous others met an untimely and suspicious demise.
This is the Hillary Clinton that the Leftmedia doesn’t want you to know about.
The same woman who recently said that she may have “short circuited” her recent email explanation..."

Why did Rio's Olympic diving pool turn green overnight?

Why did Rio's Olympic diving pool turn green overnight? | FOX Sports
On Monday, the men in the synchronized platform diving event were dropping 10 meters into lovely, crystal blue water - the kind you'd find at any local pool, country club or Vegas party deck around the world. On Tuesday, it looked like they were diving into the creek you once vacationed at with your friend's parents but never swam in because, well, it looked like garbage water.
Compare Monday...

... to Tuesday.

If you think it's a different filter or lighting or some TV trick, take a look at the lap pool behind the divers. In Monday's picture, it's the same color as the diving well. On Tuesday's it's - well, it ain't.
Underwater looked just as unappealing.

How Much Oil Is in Storage Globally? Take a Guess

How Much Oil Is in Storage Globally? Take a Guess - WSJ:
"SINGAPORE—The historic fall in oil prices has created a pileup of inventories, much of it stashed in tanks in the U.S. and other industrialized countries that are committed to disclosing the latest tally, but millions of barrels of oil are flowing to locations outside the scope of industry trackers.
Some countries, such as Russia and China, choose not to report their oil-storage levels.
And traders and oil companies that park supertankers have no obligation to make public their supply. This makes for more cryptic and volatile oil markets.
How much crude is in these locations, and how quickly it can be resold into the market, can affect oil prices.
“The data itself is so inconsistent,” said Harish Sundaresh, portfolio manager and commodities strategist for Loomis, Sayles & Co., which manages $240 billion.
“In countries like Nigeria, Brazil, Angola, it’s not trustable.”
Keeping track of inventories has become more complicated as developing countries store and consume more oil..."

Arkansas rape victim comes forward after 40 years to call Hillary Clinton a ‘liar’ | Daily Mail Online:

  • 'Hillary Clinton is not for women and children,' says Kathy Shelton, 54, who was 12 years old when she was raped by Thomas Alfred Taylor in Arkansas
  • Clinton was the rapist's defense lawyer, pleading him down to 'unlawful fondling of a minor'
  • The 41-year-old drifter served less than a year in prison
  • The plea came after Clinton was able to block the admission of forensic evidence that linked her client to the crime

  • The presidential candidate later laughed while discussing aspects of the case in a recently-unearthed audiotaped interview from the 1980s

Voter ID and the Real Threat to Democracy - WSJ

Voter ID and the Real Threat to Democracy - WSJ:

"The Supreme Court concluded in 2008 that voter ID is constitutional and doesn’t impose an unreasonable burden on voters. But the recent decisions of three federal courts throwing out voter-ID laws in North Carolina, Texas and Wisconsin as discriminatory have put opponents of common-sense election reforms in raptures. These erroneous rulings twist the Voting Rights Act from a law intended to stop racial discrimination into one that transfers the power to determine routine election procedures—which the Constitution delegates to the states—to the judiciary."

The family of a Muslim boy who was arrested after bringing a homemade clock to school has sued Texas school officials, saying they violated the 14-year-old boy's civil rights.
The lawsuit was filed Monday on behalf of Ahmed Mohamed.
The teen was arrested at his suburban Dallas high school in September and charged with having a hoax bomb.
He says he brought the homemade clock to school to show his teacher.
The charge was later dropped, but he was still suspended.
The lawsuit names Irving Independent School District, the city of Irving and the school's principal.
A district spokeswoman didn't immediately return a phone message seeking comment Monday morning.
The family has since moved to Qatar, citing threats and a scholarship offered to Ahmed in the Persian Gulf country."

Being Lazy Is a Sign of High Intelligence, Study Suggests

Being Lazy Is a Sign of High Intelligence, Study Suggests - Slashdot
An anonymous reader quotes a report from The Independent:
Findings from a U.S.-based study seem to support the idea that people with a high IQ get bored less easily, leading them to spend more time engaged in thought. And active people may be more physical as they need to stimulate their minds with external activities, either to escape their thoughts or because they get bored quickly. Researchers from the Florida Gulf Coast University gave a classic test -- dating back three decades -- to a group of students. The 'need for cognition' questionnaire asked participants to rate how strongly they agree with statements such as "I really enjoy a task that involves coming up with new solutions to problems," and "I only think as hard as I have to." The researchers, led by Todd McElroy, then selected 30 'thinkers' and 30 'non-thinkers' from the pool of candidates. Over the next seven days both groups wore a device on their wrist which tracked their movements and activity levels, providing a constant stream of data on how physically active they were. Results showed the thinking group were far less active during the week than the non-thinkers..."

Recio, who leads a global team of more than 350 people, hires more than 8,000 people a year, and has 20 years of hiring experience at tech companies like Salesforce and Yahoo!, tells Business Insider that she loves to kick off interviews by asking candidates: "What is your favorite pump up song, and why?"
"It may seem like just a fun icebreaker, but how they respond also allows you to get a deeper sense of them, and if they might be a good fit with your company's culture," she explains.
Luckily for candidates, there is no right or wrong answer to the question. Instead, how they answer can speak volumes about their personality and fit..."

Iran’s Former President Ahmadinejad Sends Obama Letter Demanding More Cash | TheBlaze.com:

"TEHRAN, Iran (AP) — Iran’s former hard-line President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad sent a letter on Monday to President Barack Obama, asking him to “quickly fix” a U.S. Supreme Court ruling allowing families of people killed in attacks linked to Iran to collect damages from some $2 billion in frozen assets.

While writing that his letter “is by no means of (a) political nature,” Ahmadinejad’s message to Obama arrives amid swirling speculation that the hard-line politician may run as a candidate in Iran’s presidential election next year."

Now The Obama Administration Is After Gunsmiths?

Now The Obama Administration Is After Gunsmiths? - Forbes:
"My gunsmith has a lathe, a drill press, even a barrel reamer.
He uses them to repair guns.
To him, they are like a car mechanic’s welding equipment, drill and cutter tools.
He never thought drilling out a broken-off screw or grinding down a gun part to make a rifle’s action work smoother would define him as a “manufacturer.”
But now, according to the federal government, he is a manufacturer and is required to pay a $2,250 annual fee as mandated by the U.S. State Department’s Directorate of Defense Trade Controls (DDTC) regulations.
This is what the Obama administration is now saying in a rule change.
...Requiring these people to pay $2,250 every year will drive many of them out of business or underground. Perhaps that is the reason for the rule change from the Obama administration.
If there is another reason, they aren’t making it public.
...According to the Obama administration’s new definition of what constitutes a manufacturer, everything from bicycle repair shops to carpenters would be deemed “manufacturers” and therefore be subject to regulations and fees that companies that make products and import and/or export goods are subject to.
But those other businesses are not being defined as manufacturers.
So, as gunsmiths are being singled out, this is obviously more gun-control politics from the Obama administration..."

Another Act Of "Microaggression" Against Millennials; When Will The Brutality End?

Another Act Of "Microaggression" Against Millennials; When Will The Brutality End? | Zero Hedge
"In the latest case of University Chancellors caving to the ridiculous demands of pampered Millennials fighting back against the "microaggresssion" of our establishments of higher education, the University of Wisconsin-Stout is being forced to take down two paintings that have graced the walls of their Harvey Hall since 1936.
The paintings which depict a French fort and fur traders with Native Americans canoeing the Red Cedar River are apparently "offensive" to the sensitive hearts and minds of the students on campus with the "Diversity Leadership Team" saying the paintings depict "acts of domination and oppression."  Because of the offensive nature of the paintings, University Chancellor Bob Meyer decided they were only suitable for "controlled galley space" that could provide appropriate "context" for the viewer.
Meyer discussed his decision to take down the paintings with Wisconsin Public Radio:
"There’s a segment of Native American students, that when they look at the art, to them it symbolizes an era of their history where land and possessions were taken away from them, and they feel bad when they look at them," Meyer said.

"So, we want to make sure that, really, what we decorate our hallways with and what we put in our hallways isconsistent with our values to try to attract more Native Americans to the university," Meyer said.
University artwork has hurt a lot of feelings of late as we recently pointed out in a post entitled "WTF Headline Of The Day: "Racist" Window Edition".
The offensive artwork in question in this case can be viewed below but we must warn our readers that these paintings are not intended for everyone and contain content that may be considered offensive to certain audiences, viewer discretion is advised:

The First American Olympian to Wear a Hijab Smears America at the Olympics

The First American Olympian to Wear a Hijab Smears America at the Olympics | John Hawkins' Right Wing News:
For no apparent reason, the first American muslim to wear a Hijab to the Olympics decided it was necessary to trash America on the world stage.
From IJReview:
Ibtihaj Muhammad is the first American Muslim to compete in the Olympics wearing a hijab.
And Muhammad, a New Jersey native, made some controversial comments about the U.S. just one day before the Rio Olympics began.
“[I feel unsafe] all the time. I had someone follow me home from practice and try to report me to police. And this is right on 28th and 7th in New York City…
I want people to know that as hard as [these racist incidents] are on me, they don’t come even close to things we’ve seen like the shooting in North Carolina or the rhetoric around the Khan family at the DNC.
It’s ridiculous and we as a country have to change and I feel like this is our moment.”
Then, in an interview with the Associated Press on Monday, Muhammad said she hopes that her appearance in Rio makes life “easier” for Muslims in America:
“I’m hoping that with my first-time appearance as a member of Team USA here at the Olympics, I’m hoping that the rhetoric around the Muslim community will change,”

“I don’t know. She isn’t talking to us,” said Jim Pasco, the Fraternal Order of Police’s national executive director.

“Candidly, we were very disappointed,” Pasco said of the Clinton campaign’s refusal to seek the union’s endorsement. “And the idea that a presidential candidate would not want to at least talk to an organization that represents almost half of the police officers in the United States and is a thought leader in the public sphere … is very disappointing.”  "
