Despite Claims, There Is No Teacher Shortage in Michigan [Michigan Capitol Confidential]

Despite Claims, There Is No Teacher Shortage in Michigan [Michigan Capitol Confidential]:
"The Portage school district in Kalamazoo County averaged 41 applicants for each of the 42 full-time teacher openings it advertised in 2016-17.
One first-grade teaching position received 140 applicants.

Yet Jim French, a principal at Portage Public Schools, wrote an article in which he argued that a shortage of substitute teachers is part of a bigger problem – a shortage of regular, full-time teachers. On Twitter, the Michigan Association of Secondary School Principals, of which French is an official, Tweeted at the Mackinac Center in a message that read, “Substitute Teacher Shortage – Now a Teacher Shortage?”
Michigan public school administrators and the mainstream media here have promoted the teacher shortage narrative.
...To determine whether the shortage claims are valid, Michigan Capitol Confidential sent open records requests to several school districts.
The responses generally indicate that schools are getting more than 100 applicants for many open teaching positions..."

How to Survive a Plane Crash: 10 Tips That Could Save Your Life | The Art of Manliness

How to Survive a Plane Crash: 10 Tips That Could Save Your Life | The Art of Manliness:
"You’ve Only Got 90 Seconds to Get Out
Understanding this is the key ingredient to surviving, and will frame all the other tips in this post.
If you’ve survived the crash landing, you have a pretty good chance of getting out of the airplane alive.
But, you only have 90 seconds to do so.
You see, the thing that kills most passengers in a plane crash isn’t the actual impact, it’s the fire that typically engulfs the plane afterwards.

Two 747 jumbo jets collided with each other just above the runway on the small island of Tenerife (part of the Canary Islands off of Morocco).
After the collision, one jet tumbled to the ground and exploded, killing all 248 passengers on board.
The other jet crash-landed, but didn’t explode.
...Passengers who survived the initial collision could have escaped unharmed, but they had to act fast. Paul Heck, a passenger on the burning plane (who was 65, by the way), sprung to action.
He unbuckled his seatbelt, grabbed his wife’s hand, and hightailed it to the nearest exit.
They, along with 68 other passengers, survived, while 328 died.
In an interview after the disaster, Mr. Heck noted how most people just sat in their seats acting like everything was fine even after colliding with another plane and seeing the cabin fill with smoke. Researchers believe that passengers had a little over a minute to escape before being consumed by the flames, and are convinced that if more people had taken immediate action instead of remaining in their seats..."

UK Conservative Government to Allow People Choose Their Gender Without Medical Examination | Heat Street

UK Conservative Government to Allow People Choose Their Gender Without Medical Examination | Heat Street:
"The UK Conservative government has announced plans to allow adults to change their gender legally without medical examination.
Image result for what could possibly go wrong memeUnder the proposals, people would be able to identify themselves as an opposite gender and have their birth certificates changed to match their desired gender, The Times reported.
The Gender Recognition Bill would change existing laws on gender identity, including the rule that asked people to live two years as their chosen gender before they can formally change their sex in official documents like their birth certificate.
The bill would also tear up the requirement to get a medical diagnosis of “gender dysphoria” before being allowed to officially change gender.
According to the NHS, “gender dysphoria” is a “condition where a person experiences discomfort or distress because there’s a mismatch between their biological sex and gender identity.”
The Minister for women and equalities, Justine Greening, celebrated the plans..."

Kat Von D disqualifies national art contest winner for supporting Donald Trump ⋆ Conservative Firing Line:
"Scratch a liberal, find a bigot.
On Friday, the Wichita Eagle reported that Gypsy Freeman, a woman who splits her time between Wichita, Kansas, and Florida, was declared the winner of a national art contest sponsored by Kat Von D Beauty and was set to receive a prize package worth about $2,100.
That is, until an Instragram user found a post on her page supporting Donald Trump.
Once that was made known to the company, Freeman reportedly received a message from Kat Von D’s Instragram account informing her that she was disqualified.

When Freeman was announced as the winner, curious Instagrammers went to her page and found a pro-Trump post from Election Day last year.
That evening, she received a direct message from Kat Von D’s personal Instagram account, telling her the celebrity had “drawn a personal line in the sand between myself and anyone who supports that man,” according to screenshots of the conversation.
“My launch party [and my brand] celebrates many things that Trump is against,” the celebrity went on to say, according to the screenshots. “And I just need you to know that I personally have a hard time with inviting anyone who would support such an anti-feminist, anti-homosexual/LGBT, anti-immigrant, and anti-climate change fascist such as Trump.”
...The celebrity then replied, according to the screenshots provided: “It’s not about inviting people based on their political stance – it’s just extremely difficult (borderline impossible) for me to be friends with or associate with anyone who would support a man who goes against everything I stand for. I would feel the same way towards people who supported Hitler, or any other fascist.”..."

Cover-up!!-----Hillary Clinton emails: Diminished interest reduces urgency to release, State Department says

Hillary Clinton emails: Diminished interest reduces urgency to release, State Department says
"The State Department said there's less urgency to release Clinton's emails due to low interest
Image result for deep state stonewall memeThe State Department argued at a federal hearing Thursday that its ability to process the 100,000 Hillary Clinton emails ordered released under a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit has been hindered by a lack of manpower due to a "hiring freeze" and that the urgency to release the documents has been diminished by the public's lack of interest in the subject, according to the watchdog group that won the lawsuit for the document's release.
...Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton is accusing the State Department of slow-rolling the emails being sent from the FBI to the State Department, a large number of which Clinton "failed to disclose" to the government when she served as secretary of state, he said.
..."President Trump needs to direct his agencies to follow the the law but right now they are making a mockery of it by saying they won't finish releasing it until 2020," said Fitton,
..."The documents included six Clinton email exchanges not previously turned over to the State Department, bringing the known total to date to at least 439 emails that were not part of the 55,000 pages of emails that Clinton turned over to the State Department, and further contradicting a statement by Clinton that, 'as far as she knew,' all of her government emails had been turned over to the State Department," the watchdog group stated in a July 14 press release.
