Need A License To Shampoo Hair For Pay? Michigan Says ‘Yes’ [Michigan Capitol Confidential]

Need A License To Shampoo Hair For Pay? Michigan Says ‘Yes’ [Michigan Capitol Confidential]:
Image result for leave us alone meme"The state of Michigan issued a cease-and-desist order to a Garden City hair braiding shop last year because the owner didn’t have a license to shampoo hair.
Michigan law requires establishments that provide various haircare services such as hair cleansing to have a state-issued cosmetology license, which takes 1,500 hours of training, hundreds of dollars and an exam.
Licenses for braiding hair are optional.
Paul Avelar, an attorney for the nonprofit law firm Institute for Justice who represents hair braiders nationwide, said occupational licenses like the one required for shampooing are often abused by licensed businesses to fight competition.
...Barbee said in a letter to the state that Ntcharba Chabi, the owner of Blanca's Braids, shouldn’t be able to operate her hair-braiding shop without a cosmetology license because her business had a shampoo bowl..."

Revealed: Whopping 73 Percent of CBO's 'Lost Coverage' Estimate Comes From Individual Mandate Repeal - Guy Benson:
"Conservative healthcare policy wonk Avik Roy, a strong supporter of the imperiled Senate healthcare bill, wrote an eye-opening analysis over the weekend.
He examined and applied leaked data in order to demonstrate how the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office would score any GOP Obamacare replacement bill as "denying" coverage to at least 16 million Americans.
Image result for statistics lies quoteThat's due to CBO's fanatical belief in the power of the existing law's individual mandate tax, an article of faith to which they've clung, despite hard contradictory evidence.
For the first time, Roy is able to reveal exactly how heavily -- and dubiously -- CBO leans on the strength the individual mandate in producing its coverage numbers.
This is vitally important context for the current healthcare debate, both in terms of swatting down Democrats' favorite attack line, as well addressing as moderate Republicans' top hesitancy.
He begins by noting the bizarre stability of Congressional bookkeepers' "lost" coverage figures, no matter how vastly various Republican-backed 'repeal and replace' measures may differ:
In the national debate over the GOP health reform proposals, one data point has stood out above all others: the estimate, from the Congressional Budget Office, that more than 20 million people would “lose” coverage as a result. And there’s been an odd consistency to the CBO’s projections. Do you want to repeal every word of Obamacare and replace it with nothing? CBO says 22 million fewer people would have health insurance. Do you prefer replacing Obamacare with a system of flat tax credits, in which you get the same amount of assistance regardless of your financial need? CBO says 23 million fewer people would have health insurance. Do you prefer replacing Obamacare with means-tested tax credits, like the Senate bill does, in which the majority of the assistance is directed to those near or below the poverty line? CBO says 22 million fewer people would have health insurance. 22 million, 23 million, 22 million—these numbers are remarkably similar even though the three policies I describe above are significantly different. Why is that?

NSA Officials and Computer Expert: Forensic Evidence Proves DNC Emails Were LEAKED, Not Hacked | Zero Hedge:

Image result for DNC Donkey"Forensic studies of “Russian hacking” into Democratic National Committee computers last year reveal that on July 5, 2016, data was leaked (not hacked) by a person with physical access to DNC computers, and then doctored to incriminate Russia.

After examining metadata from the “Guccifer 2.0” July 5, 2016 intrusion into the DNC server, independent cyber investigators have concluded that an insider copied DNC data onto an external storage device, and that “telltale signs” implicating Russia were then inserted."

Mainstream media tilts the truth in Trump coverage - The Macomb Daily
"It is indisputable that President Trump has the mainstream media in an uproar over his claims that well-known national media outlets are publishing “fake news.”
Well, maybe it’s time we stop to examine whether or not the mainstream media, including national cable news giants like CNN and well-known and frequently sourced newspapers like The New York Times and Washington Post, are reporting the facts accurately and without bias.
Or, are they are in fact catering to a specific politically-liberal segment of viewers and readers, while still claiming to be “unbiased,” even though they are deliberately slanting the news to ‘provide a narrative that their target audience wants to hear’ in order to increase their “ratings” and advertising revenue, as President Trump publicly charges?
...The recently published videos released by James O’Keefe’s Project Veritas show that CNN is following the “Russian Collusion” story primarily because many of its viewers want to believe that the Trump campaign stole the election from Hillary Clinton..."---Brian Pannebecker

"In August 2004, Merrian Carver, a 40-year-old mother of one from Massachusetts, boarded a ship with Celebrity Cruises that sailed from Seattle to Alaska.
She chose to travel alone while her daughter stayed with her ex-husband in England.

...To this day, the Carver family still doesn’t know exactly what happened to Merrian, who was the oldest of four daughters and was described as an over-achiever, despite a nearly year-long search that consumed almost all of the family’s time.
...Since 2000, nearly 300 people have gone overboard from cruise ships and ferries, according to data collected by Ross Klein, a professor in the School of Social Work at Memorial University of Newfoundland in Canada, who tracks operational incidents involving cruise ships.
Additionally, Klein estimates 49 people have gone missing like Merrian Carver while traveling or working on cruise ships in that time — many of these individuals are also presumed to have gone overboard..."
