Blog: Why is the FBI stonewalling congressional subpoenas on the Fusion GPS 'Trump dossier'?

Blog: Why is the FBI stonewalling congressional subpoenas on the Fusion GPS 'Trump dossier'?
"Could the story behind the "Trump dossier" be the Rosetta Stone of Russian manipulation of our electoral process in 2016?
There is a strong and justifiable suspicion that the dossier was the critical bit of evidence that persuaded the FISA Court to reverse itself and permit monitoring of American associates of Donald Trump.
The dossier was originally begun as an opposition research project for Republican rivals of Trump, then funded by Democrats, and allegedly finally funded by the FBI.
We already know that some of the wild accusations in it were demonstrably false.
The House Intelligence Committee long has been looking into allegations of collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia, and so far, it has come up with nothing.
As in zero specific evidence.
This was admitted by no less than Rep. Jackie Spier, a veteran Democrat member of the House of Representatives.
It is obviously worth investigating, then, how that dossier came to be created in the first place, and how it was used by various organs of the United States government, if there is interest in getting to the truth behind Russia's attempts to affect our elections.
Yet the FBI is refusing to hand over documents that have been subpoenaed by the House..."

Detroit firefighter fired for bringing watermelon to station - Story | WJBK

Detroit firefighter fired for bringing watermelon to station - Story | WJBK:
photo"DETROIT (WJBK) - Earlier this month, 41-year-old Robert Pattison went to introduce himself to his fellow firefighters at Engine 55 at Joy and Southfield in Detroit. Second Battallion Chief Shawn McCarty calls it a tradition for firefighters.
"It's not mandatory, it's voluntary," he says. "You come in bearing gifts.
The usual gift is doughnuts, but you are allowed to bring whatever you want to bring in."
And Pattison, a probationary firefighter, decided to bring a watermelon wrapped in a pink ribbon. We're told some African-American firefighters were instantly offended, since 90 percent of the people who work at Engine 55 are black.
...In a statement Jones says: "There is zero tolerance for discriminatory behavior inside the Detroit Fire Department. On Saturday, Sept. 30, 2017, at Engine 55, a trial firefighter (probationary employee) engaged in unsatisfactory work behavior which was deemed offensive and racially insensitive to members of the Detroit Fire Department.
"After a thorough investigation, it was determined that the best course of action was to terminate the employment of this probationary employee."...

Michigan student performance lagging, but public unaware of trend | MLive.com
"Michigan voters support their local public school's performance but are split on whether the state's education system as a whole is doing an effective job, according to survey of likely voters conducted for Business Leaders for Michigan.
Image result for public schools failThe survey found that 64.5 percent of respondents strongly approve of the job their local public school is doing.
However, respondents were split - by a margin of 47 percent to 43.1 percent - on the performance of Michigan's school system as a whole.
..."Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be widespread public awareness that Michigan student performance lags that of other states resulting in three-fourths of our students graduating high school unprepared to enter the workforce or to continue their education."
According to results from the 2015 National Assessment of Educational Progress, which is given to a sample of students in each state, Michigan ranked 41st in the nation in fourth-grade reading and 37th in eighth grade math.
That's down from where the state ranked more than a decade ago..."

‘Count down days to death’ in Israel

‘Count down days to death’ in Israel:

Image result for flickr commons images Isreali Air Force"In one of the fieriest speeches directed at Israel by Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah, he called for the ethnic cleansing of all Jews in Israel, the destruction of the Jewish state and told Israelis to begin a “count down to death.”

The speech echoed recent rhetoric recently by the Iranian regime and its military officials, who said Tel Aviv would be “destroyed” if Israel made “a mistake,” and that Israel would not survive for more than 25 years.

“Israel should remain silent and count down the days to its death, because any minor mistake would lead to its demise as fast as lightning,” said Iranian army commander Maj.-Gen. Abdolrahim Mousavi."
