One of Muskegon's finest columnists----The Doors of History
LIBERTY REVIEW:"I envision a parade in Washington D.C. with every participant carrying something that was built by an American who dared to dream.
A fly swatter could be held in everyone’s left hand.
It could symbolize that we will swat away the president’s attempt to not only change our history but to downplay the importance of American ingenuity.
Of course, the swatter could also symbolize what the progressives are successfully doing to our country. They’re swatting away our individualism, self-reliance, our one nation under God and liberty."
Holy crapoli, look at what $75,000 buys ya! -----Connecticut Health Exchange Buys Three Murals for $24,980 Each
"AccessHealthCT, the quasi-public state agency that runs Connecticut’s Obamacare exchange, spent nearly $75,000 to commission three murals, plus nearly $4,000 to have one of them installed."
SHOCKING REPORT!!! ---Who’d a-thunk it? Research confirms gender differences and food shortages under communism?
Who’d a-thunk it? Research confirms gender differences and food shortages under communism? | AEIdeas:"Research Shows that Differences in How Men and Women Think Are Hard-Wired.
Wow, who would have thought that a half-dozen recent studies actually found gender variations in the brain’s wiring diagram?
…. For some…. maybe the gender activists, who don’t believe in any gender differences, these findings are described in the WSJ as “incendiary” and “controversial”??
Is the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter the New F-4?
Is the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter the New F-4? — War is Boring — Medium:

"“Buying the F-4 for the USAF instead of the much more effective A-4 meant we delivered far less bombs on Vietnam targets at a cost two and a half times as high while losing at least three times as many of our aircrews,” he says.
“You'd have done far better by giving the USAF 500 F-5s for air-to-air and 2,500 A-4s for bombing. That would have cost one-third of what we paid for 3,000 USAF F-4s, and we’d have destroyed far more Vietnamese ground targets and at least twice as many MiGs.”"

The most beautiful snowflake photos you’ll ever see, captured with a cheap DIY camera - Slideshow | ExtremeTech: "All of the snowflake photos on this page, believe it or not, were captured using a six-year-old point-and-shoot Canon camera and a standard 58mm SLR lens that was produced in the USSR sometime between 1958 and 1992. Such photography ought to be impossible without a microscope or other expensive gear, but it just perfectly illustrates the photographic and aesthetic ingenuity of Alexey Kljatov, a Russian photographer who lives in Moscow."
Obamacare zealots care not whom they destroy-----Protecting Volunteer Firefighters from Obamacare
The current IRS policy defines volunteer firefighters as employees for federal tax purposes.
....“Make no mistake, this wrinkle we discovered in Obamacare would not provide health insurance to the uninsured, rather it will close down fire companies and do real damage to public safety.”
The “Employer’s Shared Responsibility Provision” of the ACA requires employers with more than 50 employees to provide health insurance for those who work more than 30 hours a week.
Many volunteer firefighters, such as those in Burlington, Wash., work more than 30 hours a week.
New stuff drives the unions and liberals nuts! 11 amazing technologies that have totally changed our world for the better
Transistors
Transistors were first developed in 1947 by Bell Laboratories and allow precise control of the flow of current through circuit boards. A transistor is the active component in almost all modern electronics systems. Moore’s law predicted that over the history of computing hardware the amount of transistors in integrated circuits will double every two years, influencing their impact on the evolution of technology.

The dang ice just won't cooperate------------------Polar Ice Caps Are Global Warming Deniers
"Southern Hemisphere polar ice extent set new records this week, combining with fairly average Northern Hemisphere polar ice extent to set the final stages of a year marked by above-average global polar ice extent.
Polar ice caps, apparently, are global warming deniers, attacking the science of alarmist global warming predictions."

Twisting the Constitution to DEATH! The ACLU doesn’t want this high school choir to sing in church concert — read why
And look for their attacks on the Muslim takeover of some American cities.
And schools.
Ain't gonna find a squeak of protest from these cowards.
The ACLU doesn’t want this high school choir to sing in church concert — read why | Rare:
"The ACLU and Freedom From Religion Foundation sent letters to the schools within the past week saying participation in the religious event gives the appearance the schools were endorsing or advancing a specific religious message or denomination, in violation of the First Amendment.
The complaints are now aimed at only the Kalispell schools after the groups learned the Whitefish choir is an extracurricular program.
Andrew Seidel, staff attorney with the Freedom From Religion Foundation, said the students are being coerced “to forgo their constitutional right to a secular government in order to participate in a school activity.”
Kalispell Superintendent Darlene Schottle said student participation in the concerts is voluntary."
President Obama's minimum wage hike would be JOBICIDE for young Americans hoping for a first job.

Ken Braun: President Obama's minimum wage hike would price young adults out of jobs | MLive.com
A smattering of fast food workers walked off the job across America again on Thursday, demanding a $15 per hour minimum wage. The demonstrations were most popular in large cities, and 200 picketers reportedly protested outside a McDonald’s in Detroit.
President Obama deliberately added fuel to this fire, delivering a speech in an inner-city D.C. neighborhood a day before the scheduled protests, calling for a minimum wage hike to over $10 per hour and mentioning the fast food industry specifically.
The Bureau of Labor Statistics released its monthly jobs report on Friday, showing 20.8 percent of teenagers cannot find work, and 12.5 percent of African-Americans are facing the same prospect. For Detroit, a city with higher unemployment than the nation and a huge population of African-American teenagers, the demonstration outside McDonald’s and the President’s speech were far from helpful.
....Minimum wage jobs are the first rung on the economic ladder for many young Americans, regardless of where they live. An abundance of entry-level jobs means a lot of opportunity for new workers to enter the labor force, gain experience, and move upward.
...Increasing the minimum wage puts that first rung on the economic ladder higher, beyond the reach of more new workers. It causes the employers to hire fewer of them and look for other options.
They didn't simply steal everything they could. They stole ALL the money that was supposed to maintain the city infrastructure! Detroit's water drains away from ravaged pipes
Sinkholes on the way?
My Way News - Detroit's water drains away from ravaged pipes:
"Torrents of water spew from broken pipes in Detroit's Crosman School, cascading down stairs before pooling on the warped tile of what was once a basketball court.
No one knows how long the water has flowed through the moldy bowels of the massive building a few miles north of downtown, but Crosman has been closed since 2007.
It's not the only empty structure where city water steadily fills dark basements or runs into the gutter, wasting money and creating safety hazards.
As Detroit goes through the largest municipal bankruptcy in U.S. history, the city's porous water system illustrates how some of its resources are still draining away even as it struggles to stabilize its finances and provide basic services."
They hate us. They really hate us! Air Force Base Takes Down Nativity Scene Following Complaint
SHAW AIR FORCE BASE, S.C. (CBS Charlotte/AP) — Officials at Shaw Air Force Base are trying to determine what to do about a holiday display after a Nativity scene was taken down last week.
Air Force spokeswoman Lt. Keavy Rake said Tuesday a Nativity display was set up Friday by a group of volunteers from the base chapel at a small lake on the installation. The site was near where a tree lighting ceremony was scheduled Friday evening.
Rake says the Military Religious Freedom Foundation lodged a complaint about the display through the Air Force in Washington.
And we keep re-electing these scumbags.....Federal workers 'essential' during shutdown now not essential during DC snow day
How things change in just two months: Thousands of government workers who were deemed “essential” during the government shutdownin September, when their paychecks were at risk, have now, in a dramatic reversal, been deemed nonessential while they enjoy a paid snow day off.
...In the District of Columbia, which was forced to follow the same standard because of its relationship with the federal government, Mayor Vincent Gray sought to avoid any employees having to be sidelined by arguing that every single one of the city's 33,000 employees was “essential to the protection of public safety, health, and property,” as he wrote to federal officials.
But on Tuesday, a District of Columbia spokeswoman told the Washington Examinerthat virtually all D.C. employees were at home due to the snow that dusted the capital region.
