"Israel’s top diplomat last week accused an Israeli nonprofit group of “working against Israel from within,” while Israel’s justice minister said the group “slanders the State of Israel.”

But that didn’t stop Obama administration officials from meeting with members of the group Breaking the Silence for two unprecedented gatherings to learn more about the anonymous testimony it collected from Israel Defense Forces soldiers alleging human rights abuses in Gaza last summer."

Paranoia runs deep.......Guns on Campus Will Cause Grades to Shoot Up, Says Texas College Professor

Guns on Campus Will Cause Grades to Shoot Up, Says Texas College Professor | Fox News Insider:
"A Texas college professor claims that her state's new right to carry law will lead to students' grades being inflated through "intimidation."
"Will we soon see a new sort of grade inflation, with students earning a 4.0 GPA with their firepower rather than brainpower?" Texas Woman's University Professor Jessica Gullion wrote in Newsweek.
"Students are often emotional and can be volatile when it comes to their GPAs.
Who would want to give a student a low grade and then get shot for it?"
..."You'd really have to be an assistant professor of sociology to think this was real," Tucker Carlson remarked."

Behind Barack Obama’s delusions of global respect

Behind Barack Obama’s delusions of global respect | New York Post
At a town-hall meeting last week, President Obama proudly bragged that “today, once again, the United States is the most respected country on earth.”
That jaw-dropper makes sense to him — because the only opinion that counts for the president is the opinion of folks who share his ideology: above all, the belief that America should never use its power unless “world opinion” (i.e., pretty much those same folks) agrees.
So it doesn’t matter that Vladimir Putin laughs at Obama’s America — continuing his invasion of Ukraine with just enough “deniability” that Obama can pretend it’s something else.
Or that China knows it can continue its grab of key sea areas, even building vast artificial islands on which to plant its flag (and weapons), because Obama will never risk confrontation.
Or that both Moscow and Beijing continue to give their hackers free rein to attack US targets — confident that Obama will overlook anything as ethereal as cyberspace.
Or that Bashar al-Assad is back to using chemical weapons, because Obama has already proved he lacks the will to enforce his own “red line.”
(Bonus disrespect: The Syrian butcher is also helping ISIS slaughter rival anti-Assad forces because he figures “world opinion” will support his own odious regime once ISIS is the only other choice.)
Do Poland or the Czech Republic respect Obama after he pulled US anti-missile bases out of their territory as part of his pathetic “reset button” bid to win Putin’s love?
Or, eyes on Ukraine, do they worry how else Obama’s America will fail them?
Time and again, Obama told Israelis he has their back.
He promised all options were on the table to stop Iran from getting the bomb.
Now he says military action is off the table — and his planned nuclear deal, by his own account, leaves Tehran set to build nukes within a dozen years..."

How they "think"-----Rev. Michael Pfleger: NRA 'Will Pay for the Murder' of Chicago Children

Rev. Michael Pfleger: NRA 'Will Pay for the Murder' of Chicago Children - Breitbart
On June 6, Reverend Michael Pfleger listed recent shootings in heavily gun-controlled Chicago then said the NRA “will pay pay for the murder of our children.”
He was joined by Reverend Jesse Jackson and the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence president Dan Gross.
Pleger began his speech at the rally by pointing out that ten persons were shot and three were killed on the night of June 5 alone.
He then said, “I’m not a gun grabber, I’m a life lover,” after which he pointed to Chuck’s Gun Shop and said, “And I love life more than the death that they are perpetrating.”
He continued:
I’m just tired, tired of the NRA. Tired of them prostituting themselves and buying politicians in this country. I’m tired of gun manufacturers and John Riggio from Chuck’s making money off the blood running down our streets, and our children laying in cemeteries. While they live in gated communities where there are no gun shops like Chuck’s. I’m tired of funerals of babies, while [the] NRA, manufacturers, and Chuck’s, run to the bank making profits from death.
Pleger said we need to “make gun ownership responsible,” that we need to “title guns like cars.”
He ended his speech by calling out the NRA specifically, saying:
At the end of the day you can argue with us [and] you can call us names, but you got to deal with God. And the blood of our children is on your hands. And you will pay for the murder of our children.

Israeli leader says world silent on Gaza rocket attacks

Israeli leader says world silent on Gaza rocket attacks - Yahoo News:
"JERUSALEM (AP) — Israel's prime minister on Sunday slammed the international community's silence over recent rocket attacks from Gaza and warned that a strong reprisal could be forthcoming.
Benjamin Netanyahu said he hasn't heard a word of condemnation from the world about three rocket attacks from Gaza over the past two weeks.
The rockets did not cause any injury or harm but disrupted the quiet in southern Israel that has mostly prevailed since last summer's war between Hamas and Israel.
"It will be interesting to see if this silence continues when we use all our strength in exercising our right to defend ourselves," Netanyahu said at his weekly Cabinet meeting.
"It should be clear: the hypocrisy that is sweeping the world will not chain our hands from defending the citizens of Israel..."

"Comedian Jerry Seinfeld says he’s been warned by fellow comedians to avoid college campuses because they’re too politically correct.

Network: The Last Great Film About Media | The Daily Sheeple:
"“You have meddled with the primal forces of nature, Mr. Beale, and I won’t have it!!
Is that clear?!…
You are an old man who thinks in terms of nations and peoples.
NetworkThere are no nations.
There are no peoples.
There are no Russians.
There are no Arabs.
There are no third worlds.
There is no West.
There is only one holistic system of systems, one vast and immane, interwoven, interacting, multivariate, multinational dominion of dollars.
Petro-dollars, electro-dollars, multi-dollars, reichmarks, rins, rubles, pounds, and shekels.
It is the international system of currency which determines the totality of life on this planet.
That is the natural order of things today.
That is the atomic and subatomic and galactic structure of things today!
And YOU have meddled with the primal forces of nature, and YOU WILL ATONE!”

Lawmakers Sidestep Obama, Make Huge Move in Case of Ex Marine Jailed in Iran:

"Though President Barack Obama is the commander in chief of the U.S. armed forces, he hasn’t done anything whatsoever to bring home a jailed U.S. Marine who has been held captive in an Iranian prison cell for over three years.

To begin the process of bringing home Amir Hekmati, a former Marine Corps sergeant, a large group of lawmakers has banded together to sidestep Obama’s dereliction of duty in an attempt to convince Iran to free him."

50 Years Ago, Ronald Reagan Warned Us About Barack Obama

50 Years Ago, Ronald Reagan Warned Us About Barack Obama - Headline Politics:
"The year was 1964. This speech by Ronald Reagan was recorded and broadcast to support conservative icon Senator Barry Goldwater (R-AZ) who was running for President.
While Goldwater lost in a landslide, the speech launched Reagan’s long campaign to the White House.
It is shocking how timely his words are.
Watch as he describes the policies of the Obama administration, immediately followed by comments from Obama himself."

Reagan swelled with pride for soldiers in D-Day anniversary speech; Obama expresses pride in undocumented immigrants

Megyn Kelly | Reagan swelled with pride for soldiers in D-Day anniversary speech; Obama expresses pride in undocumented immigrants
“Here in Normandy, the rescue began,” Reagan said.
“Here the Allies stood and fought against tyranny in a giant undertaking unparalleled in human history.”
Reagan described the undertaking of the allied forces against seemingly insurmountable odds.

"The Rangers looked up and saw the enemy soldiers — the edge of the cliffs shooting down at them with machine-guns and throwing grenades.
And the American Rangers began to climb.
They shot rope ladders over the face of these cliffs and began to pull themselves up.
When one Ranger fell, another would take his place.
When one rope was cut, a Ranger would grab another and begin his climb again.
They climbed, shot back, and held their footing.
Soon, one by one, the Rangers pulled themselves over the top, and in seizing the firm land at the top of these cliffs, they began to seize back the continent of Europe.
Two hundred and twenty-five came here.
After 2 days of fighting, only 90 could still bear arms.

And then he delivered the line that gave the speech its name.

“These are the boys of Pointe du Hoc.
These are the men who took the cliffs.
These are the champions who helped free a continent.
These are the heroes who helped end awar.”

In contrast, President Barack Obama marked D-Day by expressing pride in undocumented immigrants:

Thinkin' Bill n Hill gonna use this-----Europe Goes Down the Memory Hole With the 'Right to Be Forgotten'

Europe Goes Down the Memory Hole With the 'Right to Be Forgotten' - Reason.com:
"...The right to be forgotten recently celebrated its first birthday.
It was introduced last May, when a Spanish man went to the European Court of Justice to complain about the fact that a story about his home once having been repossessed was still showing up when his name was Googled.
This was an infringement of his privacy, he claimed.
The ECJ agreed, and instituted what has come to be known as the right to be forgotten.
It said citizens have a right to demand the erasure of search-engine links to stories containing "irrelevant" or "outdated" data about them.
This means, weirdly, that online news reports about, for example, that Spanish man's financial travails will still exist—Europeans just won't be able to find them, at least not by using Google or any of the other main search engines.
In the year since the ECJ effectively gave us the right to say "It does not exist!" there have been tens of thousands of requests for the rewriting of history.

Taxpayer subsidies don't pay: Milwaukee Bucks arena backers are bucking history

Taxpayer subsidies don't pay: Milwaukee Bucks arena backers are bucking history - Watchdog.org
MADISON, Wis. — For those banking on an economic boom from a new taxpayer-subsidized Milwaukee Bucks arena, it may be time for a history lesson.
“Most studies find very little economic impact from sports facilities, which would, of course, suggest the argument for public subsidies is very weak,” said Richard Alm, researcher at Southern Methodist University’s O’Neil Center for Global Markets and Freedom.
...Gov. Scott Walker summed up the cold hard facts as he sees them.
“We’ve considered the financial impacts on the state should the Bucks stay or go, and quite simply, we found it’s cheaper to keep them,” the Republican governor said at a Capitol press conference.
“Cheaper to keep them” doesn’t sound like a ringing endorsement of a big-ticket plan that critics see as ransom in a hostage situation.
But Walker’s point is plain:
If the city of Milwaukee, Milwaukee County and the state don’t come up with a way to help pay for a new playground for the Bucks, the NBA will make good on its threat to buy back the team from its owners and then shop the franchise to some other city willing to play ball.
... research is backed and cited by a study in the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis, which also noted that almost all economists and development specialists, at least those not working for a chamber of commerce or similar organization, conclude the rate of return a city receives for its investment is generally below that of alternative projects.
“In addition, evidence suggests that cities and metro areas that have invested heavily in sports stadiums and arenas have, on average, experienced slower income growth than those that have not,”
the report noted.
...“Very little evidence exists to suggest that sporting events are better at attracting tourism dollars to a city than other activities,” the report states.
“More often than not, tourists who attend a baseball or hockey game, for example, are in town on business or are visiting family and would have spent the money on another activity if the sports outlet were not available.”
...The impact study on the Bucks Arena, prepared by a Marquette University professor for the Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce, estimates development of Milwaukee’s long-vacant Park East Corridor would add 700 apartment units, 225,000 square feet of office space and 280,000 square feet of retail.
Zimbalist said there also are the intangibles, the positive social and cultural impacts of a city hosting a professional sports team.
Those are impossible to measure.
Taxpayer subsidies for sports facilities in general is bad public policy, Alm said.
“We don’t subsidize the local supermarket, if the owner threatens to leave town,” he said.
“The difference is professional sports is a monopoly where sports owners can extract these kinds of deals.”

Fed-up teacher suspended for jamming students’ cell phones so they’d pay attention in class | Fusion
Pop quiz: If you don’t want students using cell phones in class, do you:
cellphone jamsA) Ask students to turn them off?
B) Confiscate them at the beginning of class and return them at the end?
C) Use an illegal cell phone jamming device?
Dean Liptak, a science teacher at Hudson High School in Bradenton, Fla., has been suspended without pay for five days for choosing C.

“My intent for using the device was to keep students academically focused on schoolwork,” he wrote in a letter to the school district.
But Liptak ended up jamming cell phones throughout the school.
When the phone company came to investigate, they realized what had occurred.
“There was some issues with the signal all through the school, people were complaining about it, and during that time he wasn’t saying, ‘Oh, it’s me, I’ve got the jammer,'” Betsy Kuhn, head of employee relations at the school, told the Herald.
Cell phone jammers are illegal in the U.S., and the FCC has an entire webpage, and a downloadable poster (below), aimed at people like Liptak...

A Virginia town remembers the Bedford Boys, who gave their lives on D-day

A Virginia town remembers the Bedford Boys, who gave their lives on D-day - LA Times:
"There is perhaps no place more appropriate in which to remember the magnitude of the sacrifice of those who stormed ashore on D-day than Bedford, Va., a town of 6,000 that’s 200 miles southwest of Washington, D.C.
If you’ve heard of , it’s likely because of the Bedford Boys, 30 National Guard soldiers from Bedford who landed on France’s Normandy beaches on June 6, 1944.
By day’s end, 19 Bedford soldiers were dead.
Four more died later in the Normandy campaign.
Proportionately, the town of Bedford, then about 3,200 residents, suffered the nation’s most severe D-day losses.
In 1996, Congress warranted the establishment of a National D-day Memorial in Bedford; after significant planning and fundraising, it was dedicated June 6, 2001, by President George W. Bush...
