Armed Services Chair Exposes Obama's TREASON... We Are ALL In Danger:
"It’s wholly inconceivable that, after being given massive amount of time to submit a congressionally required report on how they plan to defeat the Islamic State group, they delivered a seven-page document five weeks late.
That’s 1.4 pages for every week late. At only seven pages, I’ve written longer papers in one night for my 6th grade social studies class. Not only that, I bet they were better.
The inattention to the Islamic State group — and to the congressional committees practicing oversight on on it — that the Obama administration is engaging in is tantamount to treason. Just this week, two Americans died in the attack on Brussels carried out by terrorists connected to the Islamic State group."

Protesters set fire to cars and pelted police and emergency services with rocks and pyrotechnics.
On Thursday night, police were patrolling the suburb, which is home to large Syrian and Armenian diasporas, as well as more recent Iraqi refugees, when a rock flew through the back window of their parked car.
As officers searched for the culprits, the rioters set fire to tires on a public bridge, and poured gasoline over several cars, before lighting them up.

As to the impact on airport security of the Brussels attack, a mordant observation by Steyn from seven years ago has now come to pass.

Gotta bum out the hysterics-----California's largest reservoir filling too fast thanks to El Nino, must release more water
California's largest reservoir filling too fast thanks to El Nino, must release more water - LA Times:
The El Niño-fueled storms that have swept through Northern California in recent weeks have swelled some of the state’s largest reservoirs to encouraging levels even as the state's drought persists.
One of the biggest beneficiaries has been Lake Shasta, a keystone reservoir of the Central Valley project, which serves California growers.
To make room in Shasta for water from last weekend’s storms, the Federal Bureau of Reclamation ramped up releases from 5,000 cubic feet per second to 20,000 cubic feet per second on March 18.
“We just slowed how fast we were gaining.”
Lake Shasta, he added, is “still gaining storage and will continue to do so.”
On Thursday, Shasta was holding about 3.9 million acre feet of water, or 87% of its capacity and 110% of average for the day.
Lake Shasta is California's biggest reservoir and a key source of water for the state.

Officials began slowing the releases again on Wednesday, Hunt said.

BREAKING: Ex-Obama Intel Head Defects, Reveals Sick Obama Plan for America:
"A former director of the Defense Intelligence Agency struck back this Wednesday against what he believed to be an inordinately misguided plan by President Barack Obama to force America to bask in “multicultural appeasement.”
The retired director, Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn, made the case that Obama’s purposeful appeasement of Muslims was placing America at great risk, though he also noted that this appeasement was a problem in Europe as well."

Public university to hire more counselors to help students cope with microaggressions
Public university to hire more counselors to help students cope with microaggressions - The College Fix:
"The University of Wisconsin-Madison has pledged to hire more counselors in the wake of students claiming the state’s flagship university is fraught with microaggressions and racial bias.
“I’m accelerating the hiring of additional student support counseling services … for student mental health issues related to diversity and climate,” Chancellor Rebecca Blank recently announced to the campus community.
Incoming freshmen will also receive some sort of “cultural competency” training under new diversity initiatives detailed by Blank on March 15.
The efforts were prompted by the Twitter hashtag #TheRealUW, which took off in mid-March as students detailed a variety of campus microaggressions, racial bias incidents and discrimination anecdotes.
“[O]vernight there were scores of stories told: from African-American students being assumed to be athletes, to female students of color being told they were ‘cute for a black girl,’ to the picture of lynched figure with the n-word scrawled on the door of a bathroom stall at Wisconsin Institutes for Discovery,” reports The Capital Times.
...“In support of this student-led plan, I’m going to commit resources out of the Chancellor’s Office to provide short-term funding for two dedicated positions for student mental health issues related to diversity and climate,” Blank stated..."

Send this to your kids!!-----Why socialism always fails
Why socialism always fails - AEI | Carpe Diem Blog » AEIdeas
"Slightly more than 20 years, I wrote the article “Why Socialism Failed” ...
Note that the title of the article (“failed”) implied the past tense, as if I perhaps assumed the failures of socialism were so apparent and obvious (I called it the Big Lie of the 20th century) that it would be forever considered only as a discredited system of the past, and never as a viable option going forward into the future!
Of course, at the time many parts of the world were moving away from collectivism and central planning and towards free market capitalism – the Soviet Union collapsed in 1991, the Berlin Wall came down in 1989, and China was opening up its economy and re-established the Shanghai Stock Exchange in 1990, etc.

Given the recent resurgence of socialism, especially as it is now being embraced by young Americans, I thought it might be a good time to re-visit my 1995 essay to review why socialism:
a) failed in the 20th century,
b) is failing in the 21st century (e.g. Venezuela, see photo above), and
c) will always fail.
And that’s because it’s a flawed system based on completely faulty principles that aren’t consistent with human behavior and can’t nurture the human spirit.
Here’s are some excerpts of my 1995 essay “Why Socialism Failed”:
Read it all and pass it on!1. Socialism is the Big Lie of the twentieth century. While it promised prosperity, equality, and security, it delivered poverty, misery, and tyranny. Equality was achieved only in the sense that everyone was equal in his or her misery. In the same way that a Ponzi scheme or chain letter initially succeeds but eventually collapses, socialism may show early signs of success. But any accomplishments quickly fade as the fundamental deficiencies of central planning emerge. It is the initial illusion of success that gives government intervention its pernicious, seductive appeal. In the long run, socialism has always proven to be a formula for tyranny and misery.A pyramid scheme is ultimately unsustainable because it is based on faulty principles. Likewise, collectivism is unsustainable in the long run because it is a flawed theory. Socialism does not work because it is not consistent with fundamental principles of human behavior. The failure of socialism in countries around the world can be traced to one critical defect: it is a system that ignores incentives.

Following the Brussels attacks, I’ve been glued to mainstream media listening very attentively to political pundits, intelligence agencies, experts and analysts. Something in what they are saying sounds familiar. Oh yes – it’s the same rhetoric that we heard since 9/11. Fifteen years down the road from the first mass attack on the West, and all we seem to be able to do is parrot the same questions.
- Why do they hate us?
- Why are there so many siblings involved?
- Why is there lack of co-operation from ‘the community’?
- Where are the moderate Muslim voices?
For the fiftieth time let me take it from the top.
- They hate us because they don’t want to accept their own inadequacies and failures. They hate that we have freedoms they do not have and they hate us most because we are a successful liberal democracy while they have not invented or created anything new in the past 100 years. So they fall back on grievances – real and imagined to create a monster they call the West. Also they have declared the West as the land of war (not my words) and they feel justified to attack us. Even Achmed the dead terrorist gets it when he says “I will keel you” But you don’t.
- Why is the question of sibling involvement so hard to comprehend? Siblings and close friends are the easiest to radicalize because they are close to you and open to your ideas and suggestions. In case of the San Bernardino terrorist couple, we know the wife radicalized the spouse. This is common in close knit communities. So when groups are ghettoized and shut themselves off from the mainstream, this is bound to happen.
- The community has also been brainwashed by invoking Colonial oppression, invasion of Muslim lands, Afghanistan, Iraq and of course the lightening rod which is the Arab-Israeli conflict. None of these by the way have any bearing on why the radical Islamists are attacking the West because there are few terrorists that come from Afghanistan and Iraq. Pakistan has not been invaded, yet there is a direct link to this country in terms of radical Jihadists.
- Where are the moderate Muslim voices? Well let me tell you that reform-minded and progressive Muslims have been speaking out since 9/11 and telling you that there is a global Islamist jihadist insurgency that will invade and attack us unless we wake up and smell the coffee.
So let me ask you.
We are speaking out but what are you doing?
What actions have the law enforcement agencies, the governments of the Western world and its leadership taken to stem the ideology that is being exported to the West?...

Easter lunch video-----Jesse Watters Asks New Yorkers Which Holiday Is This Sunday — a Stunning Number of Them Don’t Have a Clue
Jesse Watters Asks New Yorkers Which Holiday Is This Sunday — a Stunning Number of Them Don’t Have a Clue | Video | TheBlaze.com:
Fox News’ Jesse Watters took to the streets of New York City and asked random pedestrians what holiday is being celebrated Sunday and what it signifies — but a startling number of people appeared to have no clue.
Memorial Day?
Passover?
Father’s Day?
All of these were answers given by individuals trying to guess which holiday is on Sunday. And even some who answered correctly didn’t know what Easter is about.
One woman said Easter is to celebrate when Jesus Christ was born.
Another said she’s “honestly not really sure.”
And yet another responded with “the beginning of a new mom opening the womb.”
After Watters informed each of them that this weekend is Easter and that Easter is when Christians celebrate Jesus Christ’s resurrection from the dead, Watters asked participants where Jesus’ crucifixion occurred, to which one woman guessed, “Rome?”
Others did correctly answer, “Jerusalem,” however,
Bill O’Reilly noted at the conclusion of the segment that only about “50 percent” of people knew anything about this weekend or what it signifies, adding that while the video is “funny,” it’s also “sad.”

Could Michigan senator serve from jail, collect taxpayer-funded salary? | MLive.com:
"LANSING, MI -- A senator involved in a shooting incident last year may be able to serve jail time without resigning or giving up his taxpayer-funded salary under a plea deal approved by a Wayne County judge earlier this month.
The Senate has the power to expel a member but has not made any move to do so in regards to Virgil Smith, a Detroit Democrat.
Senate Majority Leader Arlan Meekhof, R-West Olive, met with Smith last week and said the legal process had not yet played out.
Asked about the possibility of Smith continuing to serve and continuing to collect a taxpayer-funded salary from jail, Meekhof said "that would be a concern."
...He reached a plea deal with the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office to plead guilty to a felony, serve 10 months in jail and resign.
But Wayne County Circuit Court Judge Lawrence Talon threw that last portion of the agreement out, saying he didn't have the power to enforce the resignation provision.
...Smith has voted with Republican leadership on many routine and key votes since the May 2015 incident.

Violent Leftwing Students, Violent Trump Staffers: Both Bad
Violent Leftwing Students, Violent Trump Staffers: Both Bad - Hit & Run : Reason.com:
"Liberal student activists at the University of California at Berkeley recently disrupted a public event featuring Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich, eventually storming the stage and assaulting a speaker, entrepreneur Marc Benioff.
It was a depressing, despicable turn of events.
It was a depressing, despicable turn of events.
As I argue in a recent column for The Daily Beast, activists on both the right and the left seem increasingly prone to censorship, and even violence:
In an election season when U.S. political discourse has been profoundly damaged by an increasing contempt for free speech—both among the liberal hecklers who disrupt Donald Trump events, and among Trump’s own supporters and campaign staffers, who respond with violence—it’s more important than ever for universities to serve as bastions of tolerance and free expression. But if the episode at Berkeley is any evidence, universities have become breeding grounds for the illiberal values now permeating American society. …
Politically engaged people of all stripes are turning their back on the most important right in American society: the right to speak without fear of violent repression. It is a terrible tragedy that we evidently cannot trust our public universities to serve as moral compasses leading us back toward civility.
