On "Fox and Friends Weekend" this morning, Sebastian Gorka said it's been somewhat surprising to be President Obama and many of our allies declare their support for Erdogan.
Gorka explained Erdogan is soley to blame this attempted coup, as his rule has become increasingly authoritarian, with a government shake-up and a crackdown on dissidents and opposition media.
"He's taken one of the most successful Muslim nations of the 20th century and turned it - or tried to turn it - into a fundamentalist state," Gorka said.
He added that Erdogan has taking control in ways that were undemocratic, not to mention facilitating the rise of ISIS in Syria.
Why is the U.S. on the side of an "Islamist autocrat?" Tucker Carlson asked.
Gorka said that when given the choice between the right thing and the wrong thing, the Obama administration has chosen the wrong thing ten out of ten times.

The cost of catching up on past pension underfunding has skyrocketed, and the city now pays $20.4 million every year — a 50 percent increase since 2010.
Filling this hole now consumes 42 percent of Flint’s general fund budget.
But some local governments have managed to contain these costs.
Bloomfield Township closed its defined benefit system to new hires on April 1, 2005.
It now offers the 401(k) defined contribution benefit that has become standard in private sector workplaces.
Township Supervisor Leo Savoie served on the board of trustees in 2004.
He said the board moved to shift new employees out of the pension system to get a handle on long-term debt.
“We looked at how sustainable our benefit package was, and in order to make it viable and to keep legacy costs from crippling the community, we needed to switch from the defined benefit plan to the defined contribution plan,” he said.
By closing the defined benefit system, Bloomfield Township capped its unfunded pension liabilities.
The city then borrowed $80.3 million by issuing 20-year pension obligation bonds to set the cost of already-earned pension benefits at around $6 million per year.
Savoie said if the city had not reformed its pensions, the defined benefit system would have cost $10 million to $13 million per year, and the city would have incurred a deficit of $5 million to $8 million per year.
This would have choked off funding to essential government services such as police and fire.

They did not vote to say: "Kill all these Muslims who are transforming my country or stealing my job or soaking up my taxes". The ordinance sounds reasonable on its face (Who wants someone peeing in their front yard?), until you look at the details.
The ordinance makes it unlawful for any person to be "present at, attend or participate in a loud or unruly gathering," and to do so in a way that "contributes" to the gathering.
According to city code, the punishment could be hundreds of dollars worth of fines and the violation amounts to a misdemeanor.
"There are important consequences to a misdemeanor conviction or any criminal record," says Erwin Chemerinsky, Dean of the University of California, Irvine, Law School. "This isn't gentle by any means."
Wayne Winthers, the city attorney for Orange gave a little more insight into what contributing might mean at the city council meeting, April 12, saying "The individual has to be doing something more than just walking by at the time [...] Some indication that they are contributing to the party.
They may be with their red cup or they're jumping up and down to the music or whatever it might be, but, something so an officer has to observe something more than just mere presence."
So holding a red cup or dancing at a loud or unruly party could mean you are guilty of a crime?

U.S. global leadership on the protection of refugees is crucial, as demonstrated by President Obama’s decision to host a world Leaders’ Summit on Refugees on September 20, and the U.S. asylum and resettlement systems should be a model for other countries. The Refugee Protection Act of 2016 fixes many of the areas in which U.S. laws and policies are not living up to the standards the United States has set for itself and, by extension, the bar it sets for the rest of the world.
Then this is my favorite in a list of things the bill would do, revealing I believe the Achilles heel of the UN/US State Department Refugee Admissions Program—refugees are not finding jobs and economically helping communities, but are in fact a drain wherever they are placed. This is probably a provision to send more of your $$$ to the resettlement contractors to distribute to the refugees (I didn’t bother to look it up!):

Like all of you, Celebrity Cruises is aware of the bombing at Istanbul Atatürk Airport in Istanbul, Turkey. Our thoughts and prayers are with all those affected by the attack.
After reviewing all of the available information and discussions with our Global Security team in Miami, we have decided to cancel all of Celebrity Cruises’ upcoming turns in Istanbul, Turkey, and replace them with Athens (Piraeus), Greece.
This decision was made with the safety of our guests and crew at the forefront of our minds and in an abundance of caution. We realize this may have an impact on your travel plans and our team is working now on available alternative arrangements from this new port of embark and debarkation. We sincerely apologize for the impact on your cruise and will revert throughout the day with more details. We understand how important your vacation is and we did not take this decision lightly.
