Must read!-----Alinskyite Tactics, Robert Creamer, and Us: Project Veritas

Alinskyite Tactics, Robert Creamer, and Us: Project Veritas | National Review
"...So even when you get a story by traditional means, the press will spike it if it hurts a Democratic presidential candidate.
That doesn’t justify deceptive investigative techniques, but it needs to be said nevertheless.
Rather than try to adjudicate the factual underpinnings or the journalistic rights and wrongs of this story, I’m going to focus on Robert Creamer’s background.
Creamer has already made news by “stepping back” from the Clinton campaign in response to the videos.
So at this point, it’s fair to comment on his background. Creamer is a longtime Alinskyite activist and a leader in Obama’s old community organizing network.
Creamer was a key figure in the work of Chicago’s community organizer training center, the Midwest Academy, to which Obama had close ties.
...While retaining his ties to the Midwest Academy, Creamer rose to become a prominent Democratic strategist and, as numerous reports have indicated, a frequent visitor to the Obama White House.
...In 2007, Robert Creamer published Stand Up Straight! How Progressives Can Win, a tactical handbook for the left that he wrote while serving a prison term for tax evasion and bank fraud. Creamer’s advice on how to handle conservatives (pp. 74-6) makes for interesting reading about now: In general our strategic goal with people who have become conservative activists is not to convert them—that isn’t going to happen.
It is to demoralize them—to ‘deactivate’ them.
We need to deflate their enthusiasm, to make them lose their ardor and above all their self-confidence…
[A] way to demoralize conservative activists is to surround them with the echo chamber of our positions and assumptions.
We need to make them feel that they are not mainstream, to make them feel isolated…
We must isolate them ideologically…[and] use the progressive echo chamber…
By defeating them and isolating them ideologically, we demoralize conservative activists directly. Then they begin to quarrel among themselves or blame each other for defeat in isolation, and that demoralizes them further."

Clinton server email at heart of 'quid pro quo' controversy contained Benghazi intel | Fox News:

"The FBI files say Kennedy offered a “quid pro quo” – allowing the FBI more agents in countries where they’re forbidden, in exchange for changing the email’s “SECRET” classification. According to the documents, Kennedy wanted the record declassified and marked with a code that would shield it from public scrutiny.

The State Department confirmed Kennedy was discussing the Benghazi email in question. The FBI did not immediately respond to a request for comment. "

Wikipedia: Broken, Biased, and Corrupt

Wikipedia: Broken, Biased, and Corrupt | Heartland Institute:
Left-wing activists have hijacked The Heartland Institute’s profile at Wikipedia, removing objective descriptions of our programs and publications and replacing them with lies, errors, and outright libelous claims.
Our efforts to correct the site have been rejected by the editors of the self-described “free encyclopedia.”
wikipedia bumper stickerFor instance, supporters of Heartland will be surprised to learn that we “worked with the tobacco company Philip Morris to question or deny the health risks of secondhand smoke and to lobby against smoking bans,” that we “support climate change denial,” or that our decision to spin off our work on finance and insurance into the R Street Institute is characterized as the “resignation of almost the entire Heartland Washington D.C. office, taking the Institute’s biggest project (on insurance) with it.”
These are simply lies.
The editors of Wikipedia refuse to remove these libelous claims — and allow them to proliferate — because they damage our reputation and effectiveness in the most important public policy debates facing the nation.
But you can help fight to restore the objective truth!
If you have a Wikipedia account, join the fight. If don’t have an account at Wikipedia, click on “create account” in the upper right corner and get to work ... carefully.
When you make a change, be incremental — getting Wikipedia entries to stick is a long game — and keep an eye on your changes. If it is “changed back,” go to the “talk” section and convince the editors that your edits are fair, objective, independent, and properly sourced.
A detailed critique of our Wikipedia profile has been posted on PolicyBot. But first consider these basic facts:
1. The Heartland Institute is an independent nonprofit research and education organization that addresses a wide range of topics, including school reformbudget and tax issues, health care reformenvironmental protection, andconstitutional reform. This profile ignores about 90% of what we do.
2. Heartland is highly regarded by its peers. We are endorsed by scores of think tank leaders as well as elected officials and civic and business leaders. Like hundreds of other “think tanks” with profiles on Wikipedia, we take a conservative-libertarian perspective on issues. Nearly all the sources in our current profile are left-wing activists who object to our philosophy. How is that fair?
3. We enforce policies that limit the role donors may play in the selection of research topics, peer review, and publication plans of the organization. Heartland does not conduct contract research. These policies ensure that no Heartland researcher or spokesperson is subject to undue pressure from a donor.
4. The left hates our views on global warming, and tobacco control, but our positions are well-documented, endorsed by leading scholars, and widely shared by other think tanks and advocacy groups. Why has Wikipedia allowed left-wing activists to fill our profile with their hate speech on these topics?
5. We have replied, repeatedly, to all of the false claims and accusations that appear in the profile. None of our replies and efforts to set the record straight is reported in the Wikipedia profile.
Read this PDF of a line-by-line critique of Heartland's Wikipedia site as it stood on February 12, 2016.
If you choose to go to our profile and try to make changes, those facts may be useful in your effort. Jim Lakely, Heartland’s communication director, has the URLs of many third-party sources you can cite to document changes you suggest. He can be reached at 312/377-4000 or jlakely@heartland.org
Or just Google to find independent confirmation yourself.
Heartland’s work has been reported fairly in thousands of published articles and websites. Remember that Wikipedia doesn’t want to cite anything on Heartland’s own website.
The Heartland Institute is a “special case” at Wikipedia, unlike many of our peers in the think tank world. Make it your “special case” in return, and strike a blow for objective truth at Wikipedia.

Laws are for the Little People :: SteynOnline
"...As I've said for years - on radio, TV and in print - for me the overriding issue in American politics is the corruption.
In the Obama era, we have seen the remorseless merging of the party and the state - in the IRS, in the Justice Department and elsewhere.
Whatever one feels about, say, Scandinavia, they at least come to their statism and socialism more or less honestly.
Not so the United States.
It's bad enough that Democrats aren't agitated about this corruption - but then it works to their advantage.
Slightly more mysterious is why so many of my friends on the right aren't incensed by it.
Image result for clinton culture of corruptionFor months, conservative commentators assured us that, when it comes to straight arrows, no arrow is straighter than FBI honcho James Comey - non-partisan, career public servant, will follow the evidence whereso'er it leads; why, "no one in law enforcement" is "more capable of navigating through a political maelstrom" and any attempts to politicize the outcome will ensure that "Comey will resign in protest, and other high-level FBI officials could follow him out the door".
All bollocks.
Bollocks on stilts.
Like everything else the Clintons touch, Comey's FBI is hopelessly corrupted - and certainly more corrupt than J Edgar Hoover's FBI, at least in the sense that Hoover was independent enough not to get rolled.
The revelations of what happened reveal Comey to be a hack and a squish: he offered immunity to Hillary's aides not to facilitate his investigation but to obstruct any further investigation; he allowed witnesses to Hillary's crimes to serve as her "lawyers"; and he physically destroyed the evidence - that is, the laptops.
A 6' 8" gummi worm would be more of a straight arrow.
Now come the latest revelations.
Powerline's John Hinderaker writes:
In the first page, an unidentified FBI employee says he was "pressured" to change the classification of an email to render it unclassified.
This pressure came from someone within the FBI, who said he had been contacted by Undersecretary of State Patrick Kennedy, who "had asked his assistance in altering the email's classification in exchange for a 'quid pro quo.'"
The quid pro quo was that, if the FBI would say the email was unclassified, the State Department would allow the FBI to "place more Agents in countries where they are presently forbidden."
So, to add to the corrupt revenue agency and the corrupt justice department, we now have a corrupt national law enforcement agency and a corrupt foreign ministry - willing, indeed, to subordinate national security and its own diplomatic policy to the personal needs of Hillary Clinton.
Needless to say, if you get your news from ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, The Washington Post, The New York Times, etc, etc, you will be entirely unaware of all this.
Which is the way they plan on operating for the next eight years..."

Maryland: CAIR wants 14-year-old girl investigated in case of threatening note to Iraqi refugee family

Maryland: CAIR wants 14-year-old girl investigated in case of threatening note to Iraqi refugee family « Refugee Resettlement Watch
"Thanks to Wikileaks, we are becoming increasingly aware (more than ever before) of how the mainstream media presents ‘news’ in a way to push an agenda or oppose candidates they don’t like.
A prime example……
I literally sat here with my mouth open when I read this story (the whole story!) at WBAL in Baltimore by Saliqua Khan (Islamophobic note we are told in the headline!).
If I had stopped reading at paragraph ten, I would have a completely different idea of what happened.  Here is what we are told first:
DUNDALK, Md. —A civil rights group is asking authorities to investigate a hate message as a bias-motivated crime after a note was left at the Baltimore County home of a family of Iraqi Muslim refugees.
The Council on American-Islamic Relations, the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, on Friday called on state and federal law enforcement authorities to investigate a note left at the family’s Dundalk home.
Zainab Chaudry speaking for CAIR in Maryland is quoted as blaming it on…you guessed it! Donald Trump!
CAIR said the hate message, left on the door of the family’s home, said, “Terrorist, Leave, No one wants you here, Your kind is a disgrace, 9/11 was your fault.”
The message also included a crude drawing of a Muslim woman wearing a head scarf (hijab) and holding a bomb, with the comment, “Take that (expletive) off your head.”
The victim’s father, who’s family recently found refuge in the U.S. and speaks very little English, said he’s worried about his family’s safety after his 11-year-old daughter received the note.
“Now, I am scared and worried about my child,” the victim’s father, Raad Lalqaraghuli, said. “I was scared, no sleeping.”
The Washington-based civil rights organization said the targeting of the Maryland Muslim family is the latest in a series of hate incidents directed at American Muslims, mosques and Islamic centers nationwide in the past week.
At this point I felt bad for this Muslim family (no sympathy for CAIR!)…..
But, now get this!
The police already investigated and determined it was a squabble between CHILDREN!
Continue reading:
Baltimore County police have determined that a dispute between children led to an offensive note left on at the apartment of a Muslim family.
[….]Officers were able to identify a 14-year-old girl, whose family lives in the same building, as the person who wrote the note.
When officers met with the girl and her parents, she stated that she wrote the note because two of the children in the family had “cursed at her and made offensive gestures.”
Officers explained to the girl and the family the seriousness of what she had done.
The girl’s parents were cooperative and assured officers that they would handle the matter at home.
The investigation indicated that while the note was offensive, that no crime had happened.
“This is nothing that happened as a result of an organized hate group this was a dispute between two children,” Baltimore County police spokeswoman Elise Armacost.
So if you stopped reading at paragraph ten, you would never know this!
By the way, Dundalk is a poor suburb of Baltimore and it is no surprise that resettlement contractors likely placed the Iraqi family here.
For more on Zainab Choudry, I wrote about her here in 2013 at Potomac Tea Party Report."

IRONY: Hillary Clinton Lectured State Dept. Staff on Cybersecurity in 2010 (VIDEO)
If there’s anyone who needed a lecture about cyversecurity at the State Department it was Hillary Clinton, but in the ultimate twist of irony, it was Hillary who was lecturing everyone else.
FOX News reports:
Clinton lectured State Dept. staff on cybersecurity in 2010 video
Despite conducting her own government business through a personal “homebrew” server while secretary of state, Hillary Clinton is seen in a newly obtained video lecturing her staff of their “special duty” to recognize the importance of cybersecurity.
“The real key to cybersecurity rests with you,” Clinton says in the 2010 video, which was obtained by FoxNews.com. “Complying with department computing policies and being alert to potential threats will help protect all of us.”
Clinton goes on in the video to underscore the important work the State Department Bureau of Diplomatic Security and IT department were doing to guard against cyber-attacks. She warns hackers try to “exploit” vulnerabilities and penetrate department systems. She then urges staffers to log onto the internal cybersecurity awareness website or subscribe to their “cybersecurity awareness newsletter.”
“Together we can do our part to improve the security of the State Department and of our nation,” Clinton says.
Asked for comment, House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Jason Chaffetz told Foxnews.com, “Hillary Clinton needs only to look into the mirror to find the biggest cyber security risk.”

The Cow & The Ice Cream

The Cow & The Ice Cream | Just Americans Making Ethical Statements Weblog:

THE COW AND THE ICE CREAM-ONE OF THE BEST EXPLANATIONS OF WHY OBAMA WON THE ELECTION

“We are worried about ‘the cow’
when it is all about the ‘Ice Cream.’

The presidential election was heating up and some of the children showed an interest.
I decided that we would have an election for a class president.
We would choose our nominees.
They would make a campaign speech and the class would vote.
To simplify the process, candidates were nominated by other class members.
We discussed what kinds of characteristics these students should have.
We got many nominations and from those, Jamie and Olivia were picked to run for the top spot.
The class had done a great job in their selections.
Both candidates were good kids.
I thought Jamie might have an advantage because he got lots of parental support.
I had never seen Olivia’s mother.
Image result for The Cow & The Ice Cream memeThe day for their speeches arrived.
Jamie went first.
He had specific ideas about how to make our class a better  place.
He ended by promising to do his very best.
Everyone applauded and he sat down.
Now is was Olivia’s turn to speak.
Her speech was concise.
She said, “If you vote for me, I will give you ice cream.”
She sat down.
The class went wild.
“Yes! Yes!  We want ice cream.”
She surely would say more.
She did not have to.
A discussion followed.
How did she plan to pay for the ice cream?
She wasn’t sure.
Would her parents buy it or would the class pay for it?
She didn’t know.
The class really didn’t care.
All they were thinking about was ice cream.
Jamie was forgotten.
Olivia won by a landslide.
Every time Barack Obama opened his mouth he offered ice cream and 52 percent of the people reacted like nine year olds.
They want ice cream.
The other 48 percent know they’re going to have to feed the cow and clean up the mess.
This is the ice cream Obama promised us!
Remember, the government cannot give anything to anyone that they have not first taken away from someone else.
Did you vote for the ice cream?

More FBI agents speak out, say Comey purposely derailed Hillary email scandal | BizPac Review:

"A series of interviews conducted with two federal agents shows a deep frustration with Comey’s decision not to recommend to the Department of Justice to indict Hillary over her email scandal, according to an exclusive by the Daily Caller’s Kerry Pickett.

“This is a textbook case where a grand jury should have been convened, but was not. That is appalling,” an FBI special agent who has worked public corruption and criminal cases said. “We talk about it in the office and don’t know how Comey can keep going.”

One surprising detail emerged that shows how little interest Comey had in actually investigating Hillary: the FBI didn’t even bother searching Hillary’s house for evidence."

Culture Beat: The Social Media Thought Police

Culture Beat: The Social Media Thought Police — The Patriot Post
"Policing thought is, unfortunately, one of the realities of social media.
We’ve detailed the censorship and bias of Facebook, but it’s hardly alone.
Recently, Twitter suspended University of Tennessee law professor and blogger extraordinaire Glenn Reynolds (a.k.a. Instapundit) over a “controversial” tweet about Black Lives Matter protesters.
He was restored upon appeal, but it shouldn’t have happened in the first place.
This week, Twitter also suspended the account of conservative activist James O'Keefe.
This time, it has to do with guns.
O'Keefe had just captured former Sen. Russ Feingold on camera saying, “Well, there might be an executive order” on gun control.
A major Hillary Clinton donor also said, “Hillary wants to shut it down. If we can get guns away from everyone in this country, she’ll close the loopholes, she’ll get rid of assault weapons, she will get rid of being able to buy you know, unlimited bullets, she’s gonna make all that stop.”
Think Twitter didn’t want to suppress that?
Ostensibly, this is about photos or videos without the subject’s consent, but O'Keefe has a habit of breaking inconvenient stories.
Meanwhile, YouTube has gotten in on the anti-conservative act.
Prager University, which was created by conservative radio host Dennis Prager and offers short educational videos on a variety of topics from a Judeo-Christian perspective, has charged that Google-owned YouTube has been censoring a number of its educational videos by classifying 21 of them as “restricted.”
Video titles such as “Are the Police Racist?,” “What ISIS Wants,” “Did Bush Lie About Iraq?” and “What is the University Diversity Scam?” have landed under YouTube’s “restricted mode.”...

Wind-powered device can produce 11 gallons per day of clean drinking water from the air : TreeHugger
"WaterSeer is a low-tech, low-cost atmospheric water condenser that could help create water self-sufficiency in communities around the world.
A new device developed by VICI-Labs, in collaboration with UC Berkeley and the National Peace Corps Association, aims to provide a sustainable source of clean safe water for the millions without a reliable water supply.
...The WaterSeer is relatively simple device, designed to be operated without an external power input, and without the need for costly chemicals or maintenance, that can 'pull' moisture from thin air and condense it into water using the temperature difference between the above-ground turbine and the collection chamber installed six feet underground.
The potable water can then be delivered to the surface for use via a simple pump and hose, and the device is said to be able to produce up to 11 gallons per day, even in arid regions.
And the best part?
The WaterSeer will be priced at just $134."

Granholm Touted Failed Companies in Bid for Federal Energy Job

Granholm Touted Failed Companies in Bid for Federal Energy Job [Michigan Capitol Confidential]: "The latest batch of WikiLeaks emails included a leaked 2008 dispatch from then Michigan Gov. Jennifer Granholm promoting herself as a candidate for President Barack Obama’s secretary of energy.
Granholm would have had to resign as governor midway through her final term had she landed the job.
...In one section of her pitch, the Democratic former governor wrote extensively about three companies that benefited from the programs.
Two of those companies turned out to be flops – Mascoma Corporation and United Solar Ovonic.
Mascoma was awarded $26 million from the U.S. Department of Energy and $23.5 million from the state of Michigan to convert biomass into ethanol.
In 2008, the company pledged that by the end of 2012 it would employ 70 people in a facility to be built in Kinross Township in Chippewa County.
"Michigan is proud to partner with Mascoma as part of our commitment to lead the nation in alternative energy production," Granholm quoted herself in the leaked email.
Except, it never happened, according to Kinross Township Clerk Sheila Gaines.
The plant was never built.
In 2014, Mascoma sold its intellectual property rights to a private Canadian company called Lallemand.
United Solar Ovonic, a manufacturer of flexible thin-film modules, was approved for a $17.3 million state tax credit in 2008, to be paid out over 20 years.
"United Solar Ovonic is a great example of the type of investment needed to ensure Michigan's economic success in the 21st century," Granholm quoted herself in the attachment.
Granholm said the company would create 700 jobs.
Instead, it went out of business in 2012 after filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
The person who won out over Granholm for the federal cabinet post - Steven Chu - presided over huge taxpayer losses in boondoggles like Solyndra.
Solyndra was a solar panel manufacturer from California that went bankrupt in 2011 despite $535 million in federal loan guarantees."

WikiLeaks Reveal The REAL Reason The FBI Let Hillary Off The Hook | The Federalist Papers

WikiLeaks Reveal The REAL Reason The FBI Let Hillary Off The Hook | The Federalist Papers: "President Obama claimed back in March of 2015 that he found out about former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s private, unsecured email server the same way other Americans found out — “through news reports.”
But WikiLeaks has released emails hacked from the account of Hillary Clinton’s campaign chairman, John Podesta, that proved otherwise and may point to a big reason why the FBI let Clinton off the hook.
“They know POTUS and HRC emailed,” Jennifer Palmieri, Clinton’s communications director, wrote in a March 2015 email approximately a month before Clinton announced her presidential run.
“Josh has been asked about that,” Palmieri continued, in reference to Josh Earnest, the White House press secretary.
“Standard practice is not to confirm anything about his email, so his answer to press was that he would not comment/confirm,” Palmieri wrote. “I recollect that Josh was also asked if POTUS ever noticed her personal email account and he said something like POTUS likely had better things to do than focus on his Cabinet’s email addresses.”
Better things to do, like golfing?
Drawing red lines in the sand?
Even if Obama had “better things to do,” someone should have been concerned about cyber security and the fact that the secretary of state was using a private server.
In the email exchange, Palmieri was discussing Obama’s CBS statement with Clinton aide Phillippe Reines who suggested that they should warn the White House about the likelihood that Obama’s statement to CBS would fall apart under scrutiny.
“One of us should connect with the WH just so they know that the email will show his statement to not make sense,” Reines wrote. “I’m happy to do so to Josh Earnest since Jen is in a weird position, unless Cheryl or John you want to (or already have) with someone else. But it’s not unreasonable to assume that Josh is going to get asked how this was possible, and he should have the factset.”
“Especially if it’s some weird technical thing with the President’s email setup that he doesn’t see addresses,” Reines wrote.
Some “weird technical thing?” Must have been the Russians’ fault, eh?
The FBI found out, during their investigation of Clinton’s use of private servers run out of her New York home, that Obama used a pseudonym to email Clinton on her home brew server.
That’s a big fat lie as part of a massive coverup, not some “weird technical thing.”
In another March 2015 email released by WikiLeaks, Podesta asked Clinton lawyer Cheryl Mills about emails between POTUS and Clinton: “Think we should hold emails to and from potus?”
“That’s the heart of his exec privilege. We could get them to ask for that. They may not care, but I seems like they will,” Podesta wrote.
Well, this revelation may have been a big reason why the Obama administration let Clinton off the hook — Obama himself was in on it."
