Trump dossier's 10 core collusion accusations unverified 20 months later - Washington Times

Trump dossier's 10 core collusion accusations unverified 20 months later - Washington Times:

Image result for flickr commons images hillary clinton"Funded by the Hillary Clinton campaign and the Democratic Party, these specific dossier charges of secret spy missions and criminality are what came to permeate the FBI investigation. Republicans say the FBI abused the court process by using the partisan charges to obtain four wiretap warrants against the other campaign. They say the bureau has yet to confirm any charge.

As the dossier today takes on even more importance, The Washington Times identified Mr. Steele’s 10 core collusion accusations. The analysis includes the charges’ status, 20 months after Mr. Steele first contacted the FBI and urged the prosecution of President Trump."

Dear Gay Olympians, We Get It, You're Gay, Get Over It

Dear Gay Olympians, We Get It, You're Gay, Get Over It:
Image may contain: 1 person, text"Being gay used to be a powerful counter-culture thing decades ago, but nowadays it seems the shock value of being homosexual is pretty much all but dissipated.
A man announcing he’s gay in today’s society is worth about a shrug, right before we go back to doing whatever was far more interesting before…like pretty much anything.
Gus Kenworthy and Adam Rippon, two gay men participating in the 2018 Winter Olympics, however, seem to believe themselves to be special due to their homosexuality.
Furthermore, they seem to believe that many people are aghast at this, particularly vice-President Mike Pence, whom Kenworthy and Rippon use their platform to denounce regularly.
Taking a picture for Instagram, Kenworthy said he’s happy to be representing the USA in the Olympics alongside Rippon, representing the LGBT community. That’s all well and good up until the end when Kenworthy ends his celebratory photo with “eat your heart out, Pence.”
Weird thing is, Pence was all for the men competing, and publicly cheered them on.
Just to make sure you knew they were gay Olympians, Kenworthy posted more pictures, this time to Twitter, telling us that they’re here, queer, and to get used to it.
With these unnecessary posts from Kenworthy, the two men turned their sports expedition into a political one, and every action they had there was tainted with it.
It didn’t help that a deluge of media fawning heaped onto Kenworthy and Rippon accompanied the post, with a story circulating about Pence trying to arrange a meeting with Rippon that the Pence camp completely denied as “fake news.”...

The True North of the American Media’s Coverage of the Olympics | National Review

The True North of the American Media’s Coverage of the Olympics | National Review:
"The ludicrous coverage of North Korea’s presence at the Winter Olympics suggests that for the metaphorical compass of many of the biggest institutions in America’s mainstream media, there is a new true north (no pun intended, but now that I think about it, I should have intended it):
See the source imageWhoever is in opposition to the Trump administration is the hero of the story – no matter the circumstances, no matter the stakes.
John McCain, Jeff Flake, Jim Comey, LaVar Ball, the intelligence community, corporate CEOs, kneeling NFL players, the North Korean regime – no matter what you’ve done in the past, no matter how much the media collectively previously hammered you, if you’re butting heads with the Trump administration, you will get the more sympathetic angle in the news coverage of that dispute.
No foreign leader has enjoyed coverage as good as North Korea’s Kim Yo Jong since Vogue profiled Asma al-Assad, first lady of Syria, back in 2011.
(That was right before Assad’s regime killed tens of thousands of people and used chemical weapons in the Syrian civil war.)
A sampling:

  • Reuters: “North Korea has emerged as the early favorite to grab one of the Winter Olympics’ most important medals: the diplomatic gold.
  • CNN: “Kim Jong Un’s sister is stealing the show at the Winter Olympics!”
  • Business Insider: “From her “side-eye” of US Vice President Mike Pence to hints at Korean unification, Kim has stolen the spotlight at the Winter Olympics.”...

How Obama’s Hillary Clinton cover-ups destroyed DOJ and FBI | The Sunday Guardian

How Obama’s Hillary Clinton cover-ups destroyed DOJ and FBI | The Sunday Guardian:

Image result for flickr commons images hillary clinton" Making matters much worse, senior members of the Department of Justice, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the National Security Agency, and the Central Intelligence Agency have been operating a “shadow government”, which is only accountable to the “deep state.”

The Obama/Clintons’ shadow government operatives will stop at nothing to cover up their crimes against democracy, including the destruction of evidence and obstruction of justice. Destruction of evidence has been a big theme throughout the Bill/Hillary Clinton era. Just take a look at scandals involving the missing emails, Benghazi, and the Clinton Foundation. "

Why Hiring the 'Best' People Produces the Least Creative Results - Slashdot

Why Hiring the 'Best' People Produces the Least Creative Results - Slashdot:
"An anonymous reader shares an excerpt from a report written by Scott E. Page, who explains why hiring the "best" people produces the least creative results:
The burgeoning of teams -- most academic research is now done in teams, as is most investing and even most songwriting (at least for the good songs) -- tracks the growing complexity of our world. Image result for Partner Work... The multidimensional or layered character of complex problems also undermines the principle of meritocracy: The idea that the "best person" should be hired. There is no best person. When putting together an oncological research team, a biotech company such as Gilead or Genentech would not construct a multiple-choice test and hire the top scorers, or hire people whose resumes score highest according to some performance criteria. Instead, they would seek diversity. They would build a team of people who bring diverse knowledge bases, tools and analytic skills..."Read on!

Report Finds Immigrants in U.S. Sent Home $138 Billion in 2016 | LifeZette

Report Finds Immigrants in U.S. Sent Home $138 Billion in 2016 | LifeZette:
"Money wired from America to foreign countries made up a quarter of global remittances; Mexico was top destination
Immigrants in the United States in 2016 sent home more than $138 billion — a sum that exceeds the entire gross domestic product of Kuwait — according to a new report from the Pew Research Center.
That sum accounted for about a quarter of the $574 billion that migrants in countries around the world sent to friends and relatives in their home nations.
The U.S received only about $6.5 billion in money sent by people living i
n other countries, according to the Pew report.
The research organization estimates global remittances based on a statistical model developed by the World Bank.
“It’s a staggering number,” said immigration reform activist Chris Chmielenski, marveling at the $138.2 billion that immigrants wire out of the United States..."

With Capitol Hill bracing for the White House to soon release a Democratic rebuttal to Mr. Nunes‘ highly publicized memo last week, sources say his staff is preparing up to five more broadsides calling into question the FBI’s and Department of Justice’s handling of the Russian election-meddling investigation."

We had a great day at the park with our autistic son, until someone called the police - The Washington Post

We had a great day at the park with our autistic son, until someone called the police - The Washington Post:
"It had been a good day at the park.
A miracle day, in fact, for our family.
See the source imageOur 5-year-old son, who is moderately autistic and prone to violent outbursts and self-injurious behavior, had sailed through the outing without a meltdown.
So it was all the more shocking when the police approached us.
It was a Sunday, four days before Thanksgiving, and my mom was in town visiting.
My son had a good morning, and feeling encouraged by that, we selected a new park to visit, the boardwalk on Lady Bird Lake in Austin.
We had been struggling for weeks with getting (and keeping) my son dressed. He had been in a protest phase with his clothes and diaper, but on this morning, he not only let us dress him, he even selected his pants. Sure, they were a size too small and the legs crept up like high waters, but we were thrilled he had chosen them himself.
[About that time I was accused of child abuse]...

Auto insurance reformers: Get rid of no-fault | Crain's Detroit Business

Auto insurance reformers: Get rid of no-fault | Crain's Detroit Business:
  • Michigan's no-fault auto insurance law is seen as the nation's gold standard
  • Also is viewed as exemplifying waste and inefficiency
  • Plan floated last week to abolish the no-fault law
See the source image...Colorado abandoned its no-fault insurance law in 2002 in favor of a tort system and has seen a shift in who pays.
In the subsequent four years, the percentage of drivers relying on Medicare or Medicaid government health insurance to pay for auto accident claims more than doubled to nearly 14 percent, according to a 2008 study commissioned by the Centennial State's governor that year.
..."No-fault was designed with the mindset that we're going to get rid of the litigation," Heaton said. "As a practical matter, we're not getting rid of the litigation."
