Subjects of the State

By Tammy Derouin

The Supreme Court's ruling this past week, to uphold the rights of an individual was a victory for all Americans. The Court upheld that an individual, in this case a baker, could not be forced to produce a product which would compromise his personal beliefs. The outcome, based on our freedoms as stated in the Constitution, was expected. However, in recent years, our nation has taken a turn toward the injustice of social justice, so there was reason for concern.

If we are to remain free, individuals must maintain their personal rights and freedoms. To force an individual to do something against their core values and beliefs is not freedom. Forcing someone to comply out of fear of consequences or punishing those who refuse to comply, is tyranny. Are we individuals who value freedom or are we going to allow ourselves to become subjects of the State? Do we believe in freedom and liberty or enslavement and tyranny?

In this particular case, and I would guess in most cases, service was not denied. The baker did not refuse service. He refused to decorate a cake in a way which would go against his personal beliefs. He did not say he would not sell the individuals a cake. There is a difference......

California Man Has Home Raided, Guns Confiscated After Trying to Register Firearm

California Man Has Home Raided, Guns Confiscated After Trying to Register Firearm:
"NRA says prosecution 'will sow further mistrust between the state government and gun owners'
A California man had his home raided, guns seized, and will appear in court this week to face a dozen state felony charges after attempting to register a rifle in accordance with state law.
Jeffrey Scott Kirschenmann attempted to register an AR-15 with the California Department of Justice last month but instead found himself in significant legal trouble.
See the source image
The California DOJ accused Kirschenmann of illegally modifying the rifle he attempted to register. Law enforcement officials raided his home in Bakersfield before ultimately confiscating a dozen firearms and a few hundred rounds of ammunition, then charging him with a dozen felonies, KGET reports.
Kirschenmann was accused of possession of assault weapons, two silencers, and something referred to as a "multi-burst trigger activator."
He does not appear to have been charged with any violent crimes.
The issues stem from a new California gun law, one of the strictest in the country, which redefined an "assault weapon" and required anyone with a gun that fell under the new definition to register it with the state..."

50 Media Mistakes in the Trump Era: The Definitive List | Sharyl Attkisson

50 Media Mistakes in the Trump Era: The Definitive List | Sharyl Attkisson
"We the media have “fact-checked” President Trump like we have fact-checked no other human being on the planet—and he’s certainly given us plenty to write about.
That’s probably why it’s so easy to find lists enumerating and examining his mistakes, missteps and “lies.”

But as self-appointed arbiters of truth, we’ve largely excused our own unprecedented string of fact-challenged reporting. The truth is, formerly well-respected, top news organizations are making repeat, unforced errors in numbers that were unheard of just a couple of years ago.
Our repeat mistakes involve declaring that Trump’s claims are “lies” when they are matters of opinion, or when the truth between conflicting sources is unknowable; taking Trump’s statements and events out of context; reporting secondhand accounts against Trump without attribution as if they’re established fact; relying on untruthful, conflicted sources; and presenting reporter opinions in news stories—without labeling them as opinions.
What’s worse, we defend ourselves by trying to convince the public that our mistakes are actually a virtue because we (sometimes) correct them
Or we blame Trump for why we’re getting so much wrong
It’s a little bit like a police officer taking someone to jail for DUI, then driving home drunk himself: he may be correct to arrest the suspect, but he should certainly know better than to commit the same violation.
So since nobody else has compiled an updated, extensive list of this kind, here are:

50 Notable Mistakes and Missteps in Major Media Reporting on Donald Trump

1. Aug. 2016-Nov. 2016:

The New York Post published modeling photos of Trump’s wife Melania and reported they were taken in 1995. Various news outlets relied on that date to imply that Melania—an immigrant—had violated her visa status. But the media got the date wrong. Politico was among the news agencies that later issued a photo date correction.

Judicial Watch today announced that, in an unusual Saturday ruling, U.S. District Court Judge Dabney L. Friedrich ordered the U.S. Justice Department to provide more information about its search of former top Obama DOJ Official Peter Kadzik’s communications with then-Clinton presidential campaign chairman John Podesta, Clinton campaign officials, and others. The court order, issued in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, requires the Justice Department to provide additional details by June 15, 2018.

  • 13th Question. A repetitious question from a moron who wants to know why aren't the signed documents more detailed in immediately ending their Nuke program, etc. (see Gen Keane)...
  • 15th Question: Are you treating our allies in G-7 as enemies and our enemies as friends? Allows Trump to riff on Canada Trade inequalities and tariffs---a 100 Billion a Year deficit in Canada's favor I think is the number Trump quoted. Now he is talking about the picture showing him arms folded and Merkel looking angry. He explains what actually was going on, then turns back to Trudeau and says other countries can no longer use us unfairly as their piggy bank.
  • 16th Question: I can't hear it, but he's criticizing Trudeau again so it must have been on that topic. Trump doing a good job criticizing Trudeau and Merkel, but no animosity. Not personal, showing a lot of thick skin here...
  • 18th Question: How did you evaluate so rapidly that you would like him or dislike him so quickly. Trump replies that they have been talking for months. (as Jim nj guessed) so it wasn't just today. Says this discussion had ben going on since back during the South Korean Olympics, so quite a while. Trump says his thing is knowing when people want to make deals and he feels via his experience that Kim wants to make a Deal, and he also thinks China wants to make a Deal. He says he can't be certain but he thinks so, we'll find out.
  • 19th Question: have you betrayed the prisoners in North Korea. No. I think I've helped them, and I think ultimately they will be great winners as a group, as a consequence of what happened today..."

Thank God Trump Isn’t a Foreign Policy Expert | Intellectual Takeout
"Over the last century, the world has witnessed the slow but steady depoliticization of America and Western Europe in favor of the rule of the apolitical “expert.”
...As Claremont Institute Senior Fellow Angelo Codevilla has written (No Victory, No Peace), as our increasingly miseducated rulers sought abstract impossibilities, the quest for “everlasting peace” over the last century has increasingly given us “never-ending war.”
See the source image...if you are a non-deplorable person you were supposed to be deeply, Jake-Tapper-with-a-furrowed-forehead worried about President Donald Trump’s intelligence, expertise, temperament, and discipline at Tuesday’s summit in Singapore.
What Trump Lacks
In fact, many on the Right and Left over the past two years have suggested their main worry about Donald Trump is the fact he now represents America to the rest of the world and will cause a devastating disaster, nuclear or otherwise.
I propose some simple, evaluative questions and a thought experiment to set the minds of the nation at ease the morning after the most significant moment of the Trump presidency.

  • Does Donald Trump have enough experience and expert wisdom to give away as much to North Korea as the American foreign-policy establishment, with all its experience, top-shelf degrees, and stratospheric test scores, has given away in the past 30 years?
  • Does Donald Trump have enough experience and expert wisdom to keep the hostile stalemate the American foreign-policy establishment created and fostered with North Korea since America first waged the Korean War?
  • For that matter, does Trump even have the experience and caste of mind to start a war, say, in the Middle East, that costs trillions of dollars and disrupts and inflames the region as President Bush and his entourage did? Does he even know how?
  • Does Trump have the expertise to take over the wreckage of such a war and support jihadist rebels, help create ISIS and a global refugee crisis, and give Russia the most power it’s had in the region since the peak of the Cold War, like Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton did?

The truth may alarm you.
Trump has never even started a war before—not even a little one..."

They agreed to:
- Support any bans on the purchase or possession of guns and ammunition by people under 21.

The Democrats' IT Scandal Cover-Up
"Former DNC chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz subverted our democracy and interfered in the 2016 election in ways Moscow could only dream of...
See the source image...What the Democrats accused the Russians of doing, Debbie Wasserman Shultz’s DNC was actively doing.
And considering what we have found out about the Pakistanis, not the Russians, that were brought in to run their IT operation, it makes sense as to why the DNC refused to turn over their servers to FBI forensic investigators.
What else where they trying to hide?
One thing they tried to hide was Debbie Wasserman Schultz’s curious relationship with Pakistani Imran Awan.
Awan was the top IT aide to Democratic Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz. The FBI reportedly “seized smashed computer hard drives” from his home. He was “arrested trying to flee to Pakistan after wiring almost $300,000 to the country,” according to The Daily Caller, which has owned the story because it does actual news reporting.
Here’s an amazing paragraph from the Caller: “Awan and members of his family received $4 million from the Democratic congressmen they were working for since 2010. Wasserman Schultz has been especially uncooperative with the probe into her staffers and even threatened the Capitol Police chief for gathering evidence. She refused to fire Awan until after he was arrested, even though Capitol Police had already revoked Awans’ access to the congressional IT system in February in relation to a major security breach.” ($4 million, and you wonder where your tax dollars go.)
Like Al Capone and tax evasion, Imran Awan was charged with bank fraud regarding the millions he was paid and handled with his family.
But the court case against him has mysteriously been delayed a seventh time..."
