"As a professional namer, I create names for companies, products and services.
After the global climate strike this past September, I found myself thinking about the terms “climate change” and “global warming.”
Are these scientific terms too neutral?
Do they do enough to grab attention and inspire people to take action?
...This leads me to wonder: Is there a better way to convey the urgency of the situation, while also encouraging folks to take action?
Could the tools of branding and brand naming create a more resonant, powerful name?
...The brand needs to reach an audience that isn’t trained in scientific terms.
We need these folks to understand the severity of what’s happening to their planet and inspire them to make more eco-friendly life choices and pro-climate choices at the ballot box...

"I lived in Germany in the early 90’s. 
A newspaper article at the time stated that the German govt had conducted a long, large, thorough study about the benefits of recycling, something they were world leaders in. 
(Bottle collection points in every neighborhood, separated garbage etc.) 
They came to a disturbing conclusion:
•   first, that the recycling processes created more pollution than it was supposed to alleviate;
•   second, that they would continue the same recycling protocols anyway because they make people feel better (virtue signalling high!).
...If only people would stop being sidetracked by impossible monsters to slay (like ‘global climate change’) and instead deal with what can be addressed, like no end of pollution caused by poor disposal methods. 
Tangentially there are big issues like agricultural pollution from pesticides and antibiotics, but really these are disposal problems too..."

The departure of Sarah Sanders as press secretary opened the door for President Donald John Trump to slam the door on the daily press conferences.
Instead, the president holds impromptu briefings.
He answers their questions but does not allow them to preen for the cameras.
