How the Climate Elite Spread Misery - WSJ

How the Climate Elite Spread Misery - WSJ - By Bjorn Lomborg
  • Most people are more worried about high gas and food prices, which green policies make worse.
"The chattering classes who jet to conferences at Davos or Aspen have for years been telling the rest of us that our biggest immediate threats are climate change, environmental disasters and biodiversity loss.
...Across the world, low temperatures are much more dangerous than high ones:
  • Half a million people die each year from heat, but
  • more than 4.5 million die from cold.
...Climate policies also increase energy prices by subsidizing renewables like solar and wind.
That makes it even harder to adapt to the extreme temperatures climate activists bemoan.
You need cheap and reliable energy to afford air conditioning in the summer and heating in the winter...

Dem-Led Cities Melting Down Over Migrants As Border Encounters Surge To Record High | The Daily Caller

Dem-Led Cities Melting Down Over Migrants As Border Encounters Surge To Record High | The Daily Caller

As migrant encounters at the southern border hit an all-time high, Democrat-led city governments around the country saw turmoil and dysfunction in their response to thousands of incoming migrants. Migrant encounters in fiscal year 2022 were up more than 41% over 2021, and as border states and towns have been overwhelmed, some have shipped thousands of migrants to major cities far away from the border.

The way they "think". (no wonder we can't talk to each other)

Police have now reportedly arrested a suspect and confirmed the break-in had no political motivation...
...Kari Lake shared a video on Oct. 27 of Hobbs nervously refusing to comment or explain after it was reportedly confirmed that the perpetrator of her office break-in was not politically motivated...

Energy suicide!----Saudi Issues a Warning to Biden About the Dangers of Draining the Strategic Petroleum Reserve

Saudi Issues a Warning to Biden About the Dangers of Draining the Strategic Petroleum Reserve - Katie Pavlich
"Saudi Arabia is warning that President Joe Biden's politically motivated draining of the Strategic Petroleum Reserve could cause serious problems for the United States in the near future.
...The SPR is now at its lowest level since 1984 with just 17 days worth of supply left.
  • The White House has been vague about when the Biden administration plans to refill the reserve after Democrats rejected a 2020 proposal from President Donald Trump to fill the SPR at $20 per barrel...

They're not ALL geniuses?

Harvard Economist: Dem Spending Helped Cause Inflation, Fed 'Didn't Want to Get in the Way' of Biden, Likely We'll Have 'Deep Recession'

On Tuesday’s broadcast of the Fox Business Network’s “Fox Business Tonight,” Professor of Economics at Harvard University and former International Monetary Fund Chief Economist Ken Rogoff stated that Democrats “spent too much too late” after the coronavirus pandemic and that’s one of the reasons for high inflation and the Federal Reserve “waited too long because they didn’t want to get in the way of the Biden administration’s growth plan,” and now we have a “very high” probability of a recession and the odds are “more than 50% that it’s going to be a deep recession.”

COVID School Shutdowns Caused Historic Learning Losses for Kids, Government Report Shows - The Political Insider  BY THE CENTER SQUARE - By Casey Harper (The Center Square)
"Pandemic-era shutdowns caused historic learning loss for grade school students, according to data released Monday by the U.S. Department of Education.
..Math took the hardest hit, but reading scores did not fare well either.
For perspective,
  • fourth grade math scores had progressively increased by 28 points since 1990, but then dipped 5 points since 2019, taking scores back to the early 2000s levels.
  • For eighth graders, math scores dropped eight points from 2019, erasing a significant amount of the the gains made since 1990...

The Economy Will Never Prosper Under Biden: Here’s Why

The Economy Will Never Prosper Under Biden: Here’s Why - I & I Editorial Board
"...The Competitive Enterprise Institute (CEI) just this morning released its hugely valuable report called “10,000 Commandments,” which is a compendium of the regulatory state.
In it, CEI Vice President for Policy Clyde Wayne Crews lays out the terrible truth about Biden’s regulatory zeal.
  • The first thing you have to understand about federal regulation is how massive it already is, with compliance costs that total more than $1.9 trillion a year.
  • That’s bigger than Canada’s entire GDP. It’s bigger, in fact, than all but seven nations in the world. It works out to almost $15,000 per household.
  • And it is growing at a ferocious pace....
...Crews notes that Biden immediately started overturning Trump-era deregulatory directives, calling them “harmful policies...
Biden also issued an executive order that, as we pointed out on Jan. 29, 2021, was the worst of them all.
  • It gutted the one minor speed bump in front of new regulations, namely that they had to be reviewed by the Office of Management and Budget and pass a basic cost-benefit analysis.
  • Biden changed the review process to instead be “a tool to affirmatively promote regulations” and “to ensure swift and effective federal action” on everything from the pandemic, to the economy, to racial inequality, to the “undeniable reality and accelerating threat of climate change.”...

Fetterman's Lines Were Canned, But He Couldn't Read the Labels

Fetterman's Lines Were Canned, But He Couldn't Read the Labels
“Hi. Good night, everybody.” That’s how Senate candidate John Fetterman began his first and only debate of the 2022 election, and it turned out to be the high point of his evening.
I watched the whole thing, and it was the longest hour of my life that didn’t involve some sort of surgery.
...The fine folks at the Washington Free Beacon have condensed a full hour of Fetterman’s stroke-addled babbling into 90 seconds:
A few of Fetterman’s bon mots:
  • “He got his Pennsylvania house from his own inlays! From a dollar!”
  • “I do support fracking, and I don’t, I don’t... I support fracking, and I stand, and I do support fracking.”
  • My doctoral believes that I’m fit to be serving, and that’s what I believe is where I’m standing.”
  • “Again, I just can’t just say one thing other than that Dr. Oz would not support and he would support cutting Medicare.”
  • “I just believe. I just, making it that much more, it, it costs too much, and I believe providing the resources to reduce the tuition allow families to be able to afford it.”...
