Roberts wrote that executive officers "were to serve as envoys of the president, not his equals. … Because these officers were subject to the president's superintendence, they had to be removable by him at will."

Read all, it's Clarice!-----Europe's Boiling Frogs - American Thinker

Like clockwork, it gets hot in summer in western Europe. - Clarice Feldman
  • And like clockwork, the morons in the European ministries blame climate change for their own failure to face reality and make proper provisions for adapting to it...
Living in the UK, Germany, and France seems to be like living in a giant HOA run by scientific idiots who exempt themselves from the draconian measures they apply to others as they set about recreating pre-industrial feudal states...
  • The European Union
Perhaps my favorite example of the feudal structure underlying European energy policies is this from Politico:
The European Commission’s headquarters was forced to shut down its air-conditioning system on Friday due to the heat wave.
Staff working at the Berlaymont building received a text at midday, reading: “BERL -- URGENT -- Due to extreme weather conditions, forced shut down of air cooling system from floor 1 to 7 for the rest of the day.”
The 13-story building is home to Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, her 26 commissioners and about 3,000 staff. Von der Leyen works on the 13th floor, and most of her commissioners’ offices are housed on floors eight or above...

Bringing Back the 'Spoils System?' Yes, Please.

A better name would be an "accountability system." And it's just the beginning. -Glenn Harlan Reynolds
  • She says this like it’s a bad thing:

Well, she’s a University of Michigan law professor who is, even by law professor standards, far gone into Trump Derangement Syndrome...
As for our professional, independent civil service — it is to laugh.
The civil service isn’t independent:
  • It happily does the bidding of Democratic presidents.
  • It’s just partisan, in that it does its best to stall and undermine the work of Republican presidents. (By now we’ve all seen the emails.)
But more importantly, the proof of the pudding is in the eating:
We’ve run America with and without a “professional, independent civil service,” and
  • there was more trust in government — and
  • better execution of policy —
before the creation of the civil service than after...

Fauci, the CIA, and the unanswered questions of COVID * WorldNetDaily * by Cory Franklin, Real Clear Wire

This furtive cooperation, and not Fauci, is the crux of the issue generated by the released documents. The public has a right to know about clandestine meetings between public health officials and the CIA. And if true, it is not out of the realm of possibility that there was self-serving connivance between Fauci and the agency, or that a self-justifying information loop kept the American public at bay. What would the public reaction be to that? Especially if the COVID origin turned out to be a preventable occurrence.

Michigan spent $1.8 billion and only created 602 jobs

Gov. Gretchen Whitmer promised "generational" investments in her state, but as she leaves office, there's little to show for it. - Joe Lancaster
  • One of the great economic myths that never seems to die is the idea that giving taxpayer money to a private company will yield a windfall, incentivizing the company to create jobs and generate wealth that otherwise would not exist.
  • And yet time and time again, the benefits fall far short of what was promised, if they materialize at all.
A new report suggests the state of Michigan is the latest to learn that lesson the hard way...

WATCH: Markwayne Mullin reminds Jake Tapper what the 'T' in 'TPS' means * WorldNetDaily * by Harold Hutchison, Daily Caller News Foundation

"[F]irst of all, Temporary Protective Status was never intended to be permanent," Mullin told Tapper. "And there's a lot of people that came over here 15, 20 years ago underneath TPS that's [sic] already changed their status. The whole time these individuals have been here underneath the Temporary Protected Status, they could have applied for a visa. They could have applied for LPR [Lawful Permanent Resident status]. They could have applied for different directions. But the status itself can be ended in its name itself by saying 'Temporary.'"

Socialism is winning our elections because it already won our classrooms.

Watch the reaction to the primaries in New York last week and you will hear a word that would have ended a campaign a generation ago: socialism. - Kent Ingle
  •  Candidates now say it with pride...
Here is the question almost no one is asking: where did these ideas come from?
They did not appear overnight on a ballot.
They were taught.
  • For two decades, they were cultivated, rewarded, and treated as obvious in American classrooms, first in our universities and then downstream into nearly everything else.
  • The ballot box is the last stop, not the first.
By the time an idea reaches an election, it has already won the lecture hall...

It just might work!

What My Life Would Have Cost in 1950 - History Facts

In 1950, the purchasing power of the U.S. dollar was more than 13 times greater than it is today, -  Bennett Kleinman
...meaning your money went much further, at least when it came to certain expenses.
  • For instance, the average cost of a brand-new Chevrolet sedan was just $1,450 that year, the equivalent of around $19,416 today when adjusted for inflation.
  • The median price for a single-family home, meanwhile, was only $7,354, or around $98,474 in today’s money.
  • That said, salaries were lower in the mid-20th century as well. The median salary was $3,135 (around $41,979 in today’s dollars)...
Which got me wondering:
What would my own lifestyle have cost if I lived in 1950?...

Yusuf emphasized that Christianity was "core to the history and the DNA of the country" and the country was losing its Christian values because of the "sheer quantities of people that came to the country in a short period of time." "Regardless of whether somebody is of faith or not, or which faith they follow, I think the Christian heritage of this country is very important, and protecting our heritage and our culture is important.
