WaPo Columnist Slams Brian Stelter's 'Whitewash' of Cuomo Coverage

Washington Post media columnist Erik Wemple slammed CNN host Brian Stelter’s “whitewash”  of fellow host Chris Cuomo and called for an outside investigation of Cuomo’s involvement in his governor brother’s sexual harassment scandal.

Brian Stelter, who hosts Reliable Sources, “attempted a demonstration of journalistic independence on his Sunday program,” Wemple wrote, by making several excuses for CNN’s compromised ethics.
Stelter said in part:

The way we were-----The Oubliette - History's Most Brutal Torture Method?

"In this short video, we explain one of history's most brutal torture methods. Found in Castle's and in many medieval dungeons, is the Oubliette. These dungeons would act as the final resting place for many of the prisoners unlucky enough to be found here. The Oubliette was a tiny confined dungeon in which there would be no method of escape. The term 'Oubliette derives from the french term, 'to forget.' Prisoners would be given no food and were just forgotten. Sometimes the punishment would continue with the Oubliette being half flooded and filled with rats and the remains of the previous prisoner."

Latest developments in the prosecution of January 6 defendants - American Thinker

"Prosecutors in the cases against the January 6 demonstrators are starting to run into some  judicial pushback: Questions about exculpatory evidence in their possession not  turned over as the law demands, lower courts assessing the defendant as more dangerous than the evidence warranted, and most significantly, whether the prosecution is overcharging defendants with the federal crime of obstruction.

Most of the defendants are charged with knowingly entering or remaining in a restricted area -- a fancy way of saying trespassing.

...This hurdle will certainly slow down the impetus to plead guilty -- it’s one thing to face a misdemeanor charge and quite another to risk a 20-year sentence.

If the prosecution believes this conduct had been seditious or an insurrection, they would have charged it.

Obviously, they lack the evidence to sustain such serious claims.

Will they now re-charge for lesser offenses?

We’ll see.

I think Judge Moss might have, as I do, recalled the recent Kavanaugh hearings and their disruption when he asked the government whether it could cite any other cases in which the government charged comparable conduct.

Not "perfect"?????-----New York City’s new biometrics privacy law takes effect

New York City’s new biometrics privacy law takes effect
"A new biometrics privacy ordinance has taken effect across New York City, putting new limits on what businesses can do with the biometric data they collect on their customers.
From Friday, businesses that collect biometric information — most commonly in the form of facial recognition and fingerprints — are required to conspicuously post notices and signs to customers at their doors explaining how their data will be collected.
...Businesses can face stiff penalties for violating the law, but can escape fines if they fix the violation quickly.
The law is by no means perfect, as none of these laws ever are.
For one, it doesn’t apply to government agencies, including the police...Read all.

I quit your trainings and I quit being a cog in a machine that tells me to push highly politicized agendas on our most vulnerable constituents — the children. I will find employment elsewhere. I encourage all parents and staff in this country to flood the private schools."

According to the Daily Mail, Morris also slammed the school board's fixation on CRT lessons in schools.

"This summer I have struggled with the idea of returning to school, knowing that I'll be working yet again with a school division that, despite its shiny tech and flashy salary, promotes political ideologies that do not square with who I am as a believer in Christ," she added.

"He is out of jail again, the Dutch-Moroccan terror suspect Samir Azzouz, who has been repeatedly arrested, acquitted, rearrested, convicted, imprisoned, and released since he was first caught on a train to Chechnya in 2003. Then 17, he was planning to join the jihad against Russian forces.
In the time since, he has been charged with plotting a terrorist attack on the Dutch Parliament and Schiphol airport; amassing materials to make a bomb; possession of illegal weapons; and membership in a terror cell, for which he was sentenced to eight years in 2006 and an additional nine years in 2008 – only to be released in 2013, not having fully served even the initial sentence.
Azzouz was arrested again in June, this time on charges of raising funds to free former ISIS members – now being held in Kurdish-run prison camps in Syria.
A month later, a court set him free to await his December trial.

'Wealth redistribution in America is already underway': THIS was the REAL effect of lockdowns on small businesses - TheBlaze

America's small businesses took a massive hit in 2020. But was this because of the COVID-19 pandemic, or is the government's unprecedented response to blame? This week's guest on "The Glenn Beck Podcast" says the real culprit is the government's insane reaction to COVID-19: lockdowns, mandates, and fearmongering.

"The Minnesota affiliate of the National Education Association and American Federation of Teachers has published a document advising its members on how to defend the teaching of critical race theory (CRT) in the state’s schools.
One will immediately note Education Minnesota’s tactics from the document’s title — “Responding to racially motivated attacks on racial equity in schools.”
  • It’s not CRT but “equity.”
  • Criticisms are “racially motivated.”
  • A “key concept” of the document says teachers should stay away from using the actual words “critical race theory” because it has been “redefined” by conservatives as an “all-purpose racial dog whistle.”
  • This ties in to another key concept: “ascribe motivations to the opposition.”...Read all.

Rand Paul Releases Powerful Anti-Lockdown Call to Arms - Louder With Crowder

It's rare to get moved by speeches. A lot of that has to do with the number of conservative leaders who give speeches, then do little else once in power. See Big Tech, Do Anything About. This is a good video from Rand Paul. You know Joe Biden is going to push more lockdowns, no matter how many times the White House clarifies or denies him saying so. Senator Paul has a simple message for the American people when the government tries locking down again: Nope.
