Judicial Watch Suing Michelle Obama Over Extravagant Tax Payer Funded Vacations - US Chronicle

Judicial Watch Suing Michelle Obama Over Extravagant Tax Payer Funded Vacations - US Chronicle:

In 2010, Michelle took her daughters, close friends, and an army of staffers and security detail to Spain, for what the media described as a “whirlwind tour of the country.
The First Lady enjoyed a first-class stay at elegant hotels, and was given personalized, guided tours.
This was just one of many extravagant vacations that Michelle has taken, and taken during a time when her husband was telling the American people that the country was in the worst recession since the Great Depression, and urging ‘folks’ to take stay-cations, instead of treating themselves to vacations at popular domestic and international consumer attractions..."

The Fiscal Burden of Illegal Immigration on United States Taxpayers (2013)

The Fiscal Burden of Illegal Immigration on United States Taxpayers (2013)
This report estimates the annual costs of illegal immigration at the federal, state and local level to be about $113 billion; nearly $29 billion at the federal level and $84 billion at the state and local level.
Image result for Fiscal Burden of Illegal Immigration on United States TaxpayersThe study also estimates tax collections from illegal alien workers, both those in the above-ground economy and those in the underground economy.
Those receipts do not come close to the level of expenditures and, in any case, are misleading as an offset because over time unemployed and underemployed U.S. workers would replace illegal alien workers.
Key Findings
  • Illegal immigration costs U.S. taxpayers about $113 billion a year at the federal, state and local level. The bulk of the costs — some $84 billion — are absorbed by state and local governments.
  • The annual outlay that illegal aliens cost U.S. taxpayers is an average amount per native-headed household of $1,117. The fiscal impact per household varies considerably because the greatest share of the burden falls on state and local taxpayers whose burden depends on the size of the illegal alien population in that locality
  • Education for the children of illegal aliens constitutes the single largest cost to taxpayers, at an annual price tag of nearly $52 billion. Nearly all of those costs are absorbed by state and local governments.
  • At the federal level, about one-third of outlays are matched by tax collections from illegal aliens. At the state and local level, an average of less than 5 percent of the public costs associated with illegal immigration is recouped through taxes collected from illegal aliens.
  • Most illegal aliens do not pay income taxes. Among those who do, much of the revenues collected are refunded to the illegal aliens when they file tax returns. Many are also claiming tax credits resulting in payments from the U.S. Treasury.

The first scandal that made us question the Clintons’ ethics

The first scandal that made us question the Clintons’ ethics | New York Post:
"Bill and Hillary Clinton were offered their first bribe in 1977.
It was a small, cute bribe.
Call it a beginner bribe if you want.
But that’s how you have to start, I guess, in order to build up to more substantial corruption.
Bill was attorney general of Arkansas at the time, and he was offered a very favorable land deal in a development called Saltillo Heights, where Jim McDougal was planning to build houses.
Saltillo Heights was at the time — and still is — in the middle of nowhere — about 35 miles north of Little Rock.
Clinton, according to reporting I did back then, was believed to have made an $8,600 profit in a year after putting down just $400 in cash.
This was one of the deals that was looked into back then by Special Prosecutor Ken Starr.
McDougal died in 1998, so nobody knows what he was expecting in return from the Clintons.
Maybe it was just a developer looking to make friends in high places who could return the favor someday.
And maybe the Clintons did.
McDougal and his wife, Susan, became close to Bill and Hillary.
In fact, Susan would later go to prison rather than testify against Bill in another real estate deal that became a lot more famous: Whitewater.
In Whitewater, Bill allegedly pressured an Arkansas banker named David Hale to give Susan an illegal $300,000 loan.
That loan was the seed from which the Whitewater controversy grew.
But Saltillo came first.
Bill and Hillary were married two years at the time of that deal, and no public office holder in Arkansas got paid very much.
...Saltillo Heights, which was in the county next to where Whitewater would be, came first.
I broke the Saltillo story back on June 6, 1996, based on a document I received from someone in Starr’s office.
There was an investigation of the Saltillo Heights deal, as well as many others involving the Clintons, and the document I have appears to have been shown to a grand jury.
But Bill and Hillary never got indicted on Saltillo, or later land deals like Whitewater or Flowerwood Farms — which I’ll get to in upcoming columns.
Image result for Young Bill and Hillary ClintonSome people, I guess, are just lucky.
Hillary, as you’ve probably heard, will very likely be picked later this week as the Democratic Party’s nominee for president.
That, I believe, will turn out to be a big mistake by the Democrats.
Why?
Too many people — including me — know too many bad things about this woman.
So I thought it would be fun today to tell you about the Saltillo deal, one of those bad things that just isn’t going away.
The Democrats will ignore this and everything else at their own peril.
Here’s what I wrote about the Saltillo deal back in ’96:
“The Post has learned that a 1977 purchase agreement has surfaced that shows ‘William Clinton’ as the buyer of Tract 74, a 20-acre piece of land at Saltillo Heights, from Jim and Susan McDougal.”
The document I have doesn’t have Bill Clinton’s signature on it.
But it does show that this “purchase agreement” was to be delivered to the “Office of the Attorney General, Little Rock, Arkansas” — in other words, Bill Clinton’s office.
The late James (Jim) McDougal, as the seller, signed it.
According to my reporting in 1996 Bill and Hillary agreed to pay $11,000 for the 20-acre Saltillo tract, all but $400 of which was to be borrowed.
That comes to $550 an acre.
About a year and a half later, Jim McDougal again had control of that property and sold it to a guy named James W. Mosely for $15,000.
But Mosely only got 15 acres — the other 5 acres had been stripped from the sale.
So the price per acre had jumped to $1,000 an acre.
If the Clintons had actually taken possession of the property and flipped it back to McDougal, they ended up with a tidy profit.
If, for some reason, they balked on the deal, Bill and Hillary were, at least, offered a discounted price in the first place.
Mosely got screwed on the deal, since no houses were ever built.
Back in ’96, Mosely told me that Starr’s office was asking questions.
“The independent counsel kept my original warranty deed and said they’d get in touch with me,” Mosely said.
The Clintons never mentioned the Saltillo transaction, even when they got the chance before a grand jury investigating McDougal.
I guess sometimes you do forget your first time."

Marijuana is the star of the Democratic Convention

Marijuana is the star of the Democratic Convention | New York Post:
"PHILADELPHIA — They’re having a high ol’ time at the DNC thanks to Philadelphia’s decriminalization of pot and a DNC platform moving in that direction.
“Cannabis is having a very good convention,” said Chris Goldstein, from Philly NORML, the marijuana advocacy group.
“I’ve seen plenty of open marijuana smoking in sight of law enforcement.
 Safety is their priority.
We appreciate that.”
The convention kicked off with a cannabis welcome party Monday night at a dive bar where delegates — and even one congressman — attended.
Goldstein wouldn’t identify the lawmaker.
Protesters got in on the action by carrying a 51-foot inflatable joint through the streets.
There was supposed to be a second giant inflatable joint brought by New York pot pushers , but it didn’t make it through the entire parade because of the marchers were done in by temperatures hovering in the 90s.
Philadelphia decriminalized marijuana in 2014.
Those caught with weed face a $25 summonses, while public smoking carries a $100 fine.
Police said there have been no summonses issued at or around the convention center"

Sounds like Muskegon!-----Wayne County Jail Project Under New Guidance

Wayne County Jail Project Under New Guidance | Correctional News:
"DETROIT — In a unanimous July 7 vote, Wayne County, Mich., commissioners approved a contract with Miami-based CGL to oversee the county’s stalled and unfinished downtown Detroit jail project. CGL will serve as the county’s representative with a contract valued at approximately $4 million.
...Should the jail be constructed on an alternative site, administration officials say firms backing the construction of a new soccer facility should be expected to help fund the construction of the county’s new jail, juvenile justice facility and courthouse — not taxpayers.
As the project remains stalled, however, the cost of such a project remains unknown.
The county has already dedicated roughly $150 million to the unfinished project, and spends approximately $1 million each month to maintain the site and cover other costs.
Work on the new jail facility was first approved in September 2011.
Then, plans included the construction of a new five-story, 2,000-bed jail at a cost of approximately $300 million.
The project was intended to deliver a state-of-the-art, money-saving facility that would streamline management of jail medical care, food programs and laundry services.
It was originally projected to save Wayne County up to $30 million annually, and would have facilitated the closing of two nearby correctional complexes.
Despite making some progress on the project, which began construction in mid-2012, work was halted in the summer of 2013 when it was confirmed that the project would instead cost approximately $391 million."

Obama Claims White House Built By Slaves; Here's the Truth | The Federalist Papers

Obama Claims White House Built By Slaves; Here's the Truth | The Federalist Papers:

"The infamous three-fifths clause of The Constitution, although often ignorantly condemned as dehumanizing of slaves, was a strategic measure to erode the power of the southern states in The Congress, and ultimately lead to the slaves’ emancipation.

A separate clause in The Constitution sought to eliminate the slave trade to American shores in twenty years’ time.

Once again, the Obama’s never let historical facts get in the way of their race-baiting disses of America."

LIBERTY REVIEW

LIBERTY REVIEW:

http://libertyreview76.blogspot.com/2016/07/july-27-2016-founded-on-freedom-by.html

Founded On Freedom

By Tammy Derouin

The United States was founded on freedom; the belief that man should live free. We the people are not subjects or the property of the state.  A system of government, of the people, by the people and for the people was created by our founding fathers.  The law would no longer be controlled by a head of state.  The law would be created by the elected representatives of the American citizens and applied equally among all.

The beauty of this new system of government continued with the division of powers.  The legislative branch would make the laws.  The judicial branch would interpret the laws and determine their constitutionality, if challenged, and the executive branch would enforce the laws created by the people through elected representation, not one individual.

Each branch would operate within its boundaries as established by the law of the land, the U.S. Constitution.  The branches of government are prohibited from encroaching on the duties and responsibilities of the other.  Too much power or authority within one branch would end freedom and reestablish tyranny.

The war to end dictatorial rule was hard fought but won.  Future generations would live free if they guarded their gifts wisely and vigilantly.  Unfortunately, the gifts of freedom and independence have been taken for granted.  So many, especially our younger generations, do not realized how blessed they are to have been born an American.  Far too many do not have an understanding of the importance of our founding documents.  The United States established freedom and recognized our God given rights.  In the United States, the people control and restrain the government.  This was a revolutionary idea 240 years ago.......

The One Thing Democrats Failed to Mention a Single Time During Day 1 of DNC | Video | TheBlaze.com:

"After the claim was floated by Republicans, the fact-checking website failed to find even one reference of “ISIS,” “Islamic,” “terror,” “terrorist,” or “terrorism” after searching through DNC transcripts. More from the report:

That said, as it concerns the convention in Philadelphia, the RNC’s statement is literally correct. Based on our searches of C-SPAN closed-captioning text, Congressional Quarterly transcripts and other video archiving services, we couldn’t find any speaker who mentioned “ISIS,” “Islamic” “terror,” “terrorist,” or “terrorism” during the first day of the convention."

Seeing Food Stamp Use Changed My Mind About Democrats

Seeing Food Stamp Use Changed My Mind About Democrats:
"Mamaw encouraged me to get a job—she told me that it would be good for me and that I needed to learn the value of a dollar.
When her encouragement fell on deaf ears, she then demanded that I get a job, and so I did, as a cashier at Dillman’s, a local grocery store.
Working as a cashier turned me into an amateur sociologist.
...I also learned how people gamed the welfare system.
They’d buy two dozen packs of soda with food stamps and then sell them at a discount for cash. They’d ring up their orders separately, buying food with food stamps, and beer, wine, and cigarettes with cash.
They’d regularly go through the checkout line speaking on their cell phones.
Image result for democrat welfareI could never understand why our lives felt like a struggle while those living off of government largesse enjoyed trinkets that I only dreamed about.
Mamaw listened intently to my experiences at Dillman’s.
We began to view much of our fellow working class with mistrust.
Most of us were struggling to get by, but we made do, worked hard, and hoped for a better life.
But a large minority was content to live off the dole.
Every two weeks, I’d get a small paycheck and notice the line where federal and state income taxes were deducted from my wages.
At least as often, our drug-addict neighbor would buy T-bone steaks, which I was too poor to buy for myself but was forced by Uncle Sam to buy for someone else.
This was my mindset when I was seventeen, and though I’m far less angry today than I was then, it was my first indication that the policies of Mamaw’s “party of the working man”—the Democrats—weren’t all they were cracked up to be.
...A big part of the explanation lies in the fact that many in the white working class saw precisely what I did, working at Dillman’s.
As far back as the 1970s, the white working class began to turn to Richard Nixon because of a perception that, as one man put it, government was “payin’ people who are on welfare today doin’ nothin’!
They’re laughin’ at our society!
And we’re all hardworkin’ people and we’re gettin’ laughed at for workin’ every day!”"

Peak Irony: Mexico Wants To Build The Wall To Stop Illegal Immigration

Peak Irony: Mexico Wants To Build The Wall To Stop Illegal Immigration | Zero Hedge:
"It turns out that Donald Trump’s proposed border wall is not such a bad idea after all.
Image result for building the wall on their southern border with central America:Though Mexico’s current and former Presidents have both lambasted Trump for implying that a wall would curb immigration, it turns out that Mexicans like the idea.
There is one small caveat, however.
Mexicans don’t want to build the wall on the U.S.-Mexico border, but rather, they want to stem the tide of immigration into their own country  by building the wall on their southern border with central America:
One of the largest newspapers along Mexico’s border with Texas is calling for a border wall with Central America, similar to the one being promoted by Republican Presidential Candidate Donald J. Trump.
The editorial board of El Mañana, one of the largest newspapers in the border state of Tamaulipas,  penned a piece called “Yes to the Border Wall … but in Mexico’s South.”
The piece praises the idea of border wall, not on the border with Mexico, but on the border with Central America.
“Along the Mexican border peace and quiet came to an end, Central Americans played a large influence,” El Mañana’s piece claimed..."

Trump's Speech Wasn't 'Dark' Enough

Trump's Speech Wasn't 'Dark' Enough - Dennis Prager:
"One of the many remarkable traits of the progressives is their lack of self-awareness.
This trait was on display last week in the media and Democratic Party's characterization of Donald Trump's acceptance speech -- and the entire Republican National Convention -- as "dark."
For the left to dismiss other Americans as having a dark view of America is preposterous.
Because no one -- not Trump, not the Republican Party, not any conservative -- has nearly as dark a view of America as does the left.
Across the board -- from the universities to the media to the Democratic Party -- the left, around the world and in America, has an unremittingly dark view of the United States.
Here's a brief glimpse.

  • --Racism "is part of our (American) DNA," President Barack Obama said in 2015. Is there anything Trump said in his acceptance speech that is as dark about America as that?
  • --On July Fourth weekend, Vox published a long column arguing "3 reasons the American Revolution was a mistake."
  • --The most widely read historian in American high schools and colleges, the late left-wing professor Howard Zinn, was asked (by me) whether he thought the United States had done more good or more bad in the world. "Probably more bad than good," he answered.
  • --The left regularly characterizes the United States as a sexist, intolerant, xenophobic, homophobic, Islamophobic, racist and bigoted country.
  • --Our wars are wars for imperialist expansion, driven by material greed.
  • --The top 1 percent relentlessly exploits the other 99 percent.
  • --America is rigged against blacks, Hispanics and the 99 percent.
  • --Cops kill unarmed blacks proportionately more than they kill unarmed whites because so many cops are racist.
  • --About 1 in 5 female college students are sexually assaulted on campus.

Image result for democratic liberalismIs there anything in Trump's speech that can match any of those left-wing views of the United States for "darkness"?
Moreover, every one of those leftist critiques of America is false.
Nevertheless, we are in a dark time in America.
In fact, Trump didn't make the case for America's darkness nearly effectively enough.

  • --Our universities -- outside of the natural sciences -- are being destroyed as learning institutions. They close minds, censor speech and indoctrinate rather than educate.
  • --Blacks have more anger toward whites and America than at any time since the civil rights era.
  • --American students are learning less while being indoctrinated more. They graduate high school barely able to write a coherent essay with proper sentence structure, grammar and spelling. But they know all about the existential threat allegedly posed by fossil fuels.
  • --According to a recent Gallup Poll, fewer young Americans than at any time since polling began are proud to be Americans.
  • --A greater percentage of Americans are dependent upon government for their income and even for food than at any time in American history.
  • --The American national debt is the highest it has ever been. And it is increasing at a rate that can only lead to an economic implosion.
  • --A smaller percentage of Americans are married than at any time in American history.
  • --Americans are having fewer children than ever.
  • --Fewer businesses in proportion to the general population are being started than ever before.
  • --Sectors of major American cities are essentially killing zones.
  • --Fewer Americans than ever before believe in God, go to church or affirm Judeo-Christian values, the basic moral code of America's founding and of Western civilization.
  • --Only 2 in 10 black children are born to a married mother.

Is that dark enough?
And the list is only a partial one.
Read on!
