Government: New 700,000-Word Regulation is Good for You
Government: New 700,000-Word Regulation is Good for You:
"The nine-second video of two federal bureaucrats the White House posted on its blog last week was notable for something it omitted.
That something was very big — and putting it on display might not have fit with the apparent propaganda purpose of the video.
The video itself starred EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy and Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx, who sat side-by-side at a table.
The video starts with McCarthy and Foxx simultaneously scratching their signatures onto separate and apparently singular sheets of paper.
Eight seconds into the nine-second clip, when McCarthy has finished signing her name, she looks up and declares: "Done."
Foxx, who signed even faster than McCarthy, spreads his arms in a gesture that appears to say: That's it, folks. Then he echoes McCarthy: "Done."
So, what exactly had these two bureaucrats done?
McCarthy and Foxx published a blog text that accompanied the video on the White House website. In it, they explained that — as part of President Obama's "Climate Action Plan" — they had approved a regulation that imposes new "greenhouse gas emissions and fuel efficiency standards" on vehicles ranging from heavy-duty pickup trucks to tractor-trailer combinations used to haul cargo.
...This is the liberal vision for the future:
New rules approved by bureaucrats that increase the capital costs to start, grow or maintain a business, will help save the world from climate change while saving Americans money.
Just don't let people see the actual size of the regulation."

Biden Tips Obama's Hand By Revealing President's Plans For Guantanamo Bay
Biden Tips Obama's Hand By Revealing President's Plans For Guantanamo Bay:
"King said that one fact above all is the one that maters — the number of detainees who return to their war against America.
“Seventeen percent of them have gone back to the battlefield. That means 17 percent are capable of killing Americans,” King said.
Obama is focused on closing Gitmo rather than the impact of his actions, King said.
“Again, the president seems driven with the goal of ‘getting them out,'” King said, calling the prison’s closure a “great liberal cause.”"

National Security Desk: Those Chemical Weapons Assad Destroyed? He Used Them
National Security Desk: Those Chemical Weapons Assad Destroyed? He Used Them. — The Patriot Post:
"In August 2012, Barack Obama warned Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad, “A red line for us is we start seeing a whole bunch of chemical weapons moving around or being utilized.”
By September 2013, Obama was denying he set a red line, saying, “The world set a red line.” Translation: The line was gone.
After reports that Assad had crossed that line, Obama simply didn’t want to enforce it.
Yesterday, we reported why: Iran was ready to nuke the nuclear deal if Obama messed with mullah-buddy Assad.
Recall also that Secretary of State John Kerry made an offhand remark in September 2013 about how Assad “could turn over every single bit of his chemical weapons to the international community in the next week” in order to avoid a U.S. strike.
Assad’s other enforcer, Vladimir Putin, happily took Kerry up on the foolish comment, offering a deal to oversee the destruction of all of Syria’s chemical weapons.
Predictably, that didn’t work out as Obama and Kerry might have hoped.
Yesterday, a UN investigation concluded that the Syrian military conducted chemical weapons attacks on at least two occasions — after those weapons were supposedly destroyed..."

CBO: Federal Debt to Hit $28.2 Trillion Over Next Decade
CBO: Federal Debt to Hit $28.2 Trillion Over Next Decade:
"Policies like Obamacare, tax code reduce Americans’ incentive to work
Outstanding federal debt is projected to hit $28.2 trillion over the next decade, according to a report from the Congressional Budget Office.
At the end of this year, outstanding federal debt is expected to climb to $19.4 trillion and to rise by $8.8 trillion in the next ten years.
The federal government’s budget deficit, which is the difference between how much money the government spends and how much money it takes in through tax collection, will be $590 billion by the end of 2016, $152 billion more than the previous year.
Government spending is projected to increase by 5 percent, or $178 billion, while government revenue is projected to increase by less than 1 percent, or $26 billion.
...The White House did not respond to requests for comment."

The Rogue EPA's Shocking Disregard For The Law
Before long, more people will realize the EPA is an outlaw government agency with a shocking disregard for the law.
Having been given sweeping and near-dictatorial powers by President Obama and the Supreme Court, the EPA has routinely exceeded its bounds and veered off into criminal behavior in some of its activities.
...Why hasn't the EPA produced the reports as required?
It says it doesn't have the money to do more — even though, as the Truth About Cars site points out, the first study cost a piddling $1.7 million, while the EPA has a budget of more than $8.2 billion.
...We wish we could say this is a one-off problem.
But it isn't.
There's a pattern of lawbreaking at the EPA that is alarming and — since the agency seems to exist out of reach of the law — even frightening..."
