Watch this corporal’s amazingly humble response to learning he’s been awarded the Medal of Honor

Watch this corporal’s amazingly humble response to learning he’s been awarded the Medal of Honor | Rare: "On June 19th, Kyle Carpenter will head to the White House to be awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor by President Barack Obama.
Corporal Carpenter was wounded in Afghanistan in 2010 after jumping on top of an enemy hand grenade, in order to protect a fellow Marine and friend.
The Marine Corps has compiled a beautiful video telling Cpl. Carpenter’s story, highlighted by raw footage of the Marine being told of his great honor by the President of the United States.

“Kyle, this is Barack Obama, how you doing?” President Obama said.
“It’s my pleasure to let you know that based on the recommendation of the Secretary of the Navy and the Secretary of Defense, I’ve conferred the Medal of Honor to you for your courageous actions in Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.”

Kyle keeps his cool as his mother begins to cry, knowing that her son will receive the highest honor awarded to a member of the Armed Forces.
“This isn’t changing us, we’re still a good old family from the middle of nowhere, South Carolina,” Carpenter says in the clip.
