"Sensenbrenner’s bill is titled the ATF Elimination Act.According to The Hill, Sensenbrenner says the ATF as a “scandal-ridden” agency “that lacks a clear mission.” He describes it as a “largely duplicative agency” and suggests the agency’s role on “guns, explosives, and violent crime” could be carried out the FBI. He believes the agency’s work on alcohol and tobacco could be transferred to the DEA."
