Is America in the middle of a "epidemic" of firearm violence?
The left and the Parkland Kids angrily say "yes".
The statistics say something else.
I did my own analysis and there is no statistical reason to believe there is any sort of "epidemic" of gun violence (using homicide data).
The firearms homicide rate has actually been going down as a percentage of guns in private hands and tracks pretty solidly with both with population increases and the US mortality rates.

Actual homicides by firearms are a tiny, relatively stable percentage of the population.
