- Illinois is now the latest state to tell residents to stay inside to mitigate the coronavirus outbreak.
ILLINOIS GOV. J.B. Pritzker has ordered the state's residents to shelter in place starting on Saturday, the latest major move taken by a governor who hopes to slow the spread of coronavirus.
...The order takes effect at 5 p.m. on Saturday and will last through April 7.
Residents will still be allowed to go to grocery stores, pharmacies, medical offices, hospitals and gas stations.
