It aims to reduce CO2 in the atmosphere; yet, burning wood releases as much CO2 as burning coal.

Drax sources its wood from the USA and Canada!!

• Living trees are cut down, 
• turned into woodchips,
• transported by train to the coast, 
• shipped across the Atlantic on vessels that burn fuel oil, 
• then loaded onto diesel powered trains; 
• to be taken to Drax, where the wood are burned releasing Co2 into the atmosphere - just as coal would...
