• “I can’t stop thinking about how grass lawns are racist and based in white supremacy. 

Why do we have these perfectly manicured green carpets in front of our houses? 

• It’s like we’re trying to control nature, dominate it, and force it into this idealized, uniform, colonial aesthetic.

Then I think about how clover, weeds, and natural yards are much better for the environment, yet people still cling to grass because they’ve been taught it’s what’s ‘proper’ and ‘beautiful.’ 

• It’s just another example of how white supremacy shows up in everyday life.

Can anything simply exist in its natural state without being whitewashed?”
