What Does Planned Parenthood Do, Exactly, That Deserves Federal Funding? | Parenting

What Does Planned Parenthood Do, Exactly, That Deserves Federal Funding? | Parenting:

Image result for Flicker Commons Images Planned Parenthood"So what are they doing with that 500 million tax dollars? It appears that they are using some of it to launch "education" programs to teach your preschoolers that their genitals don't determine their gender. Or using sex toy experts to teach prepubescent children about sex in high schools. Is this something we need to subsidize with taxes? Are all the bridges safe? Are all the roads pothole free? It just seems awfully economically unsound (not to mention stupid) to spend this kind of money on the unscientific indoctrination of America's youth. It's also worth noting that the type of "sex education" Planned Parenthood is offering only encourages sexual activity "

Blog: Guess who pays for those $150,000 Columbia journalism degrees?
Image result for obama free money"There's been some brouhaha about Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism's new data journalism degree, which comes with a whopping $150,000 price tag for the three-semester Master's degree.
The lowly median annual wage for journalists is being repeatedly cited as reason for the questionability of the degree. At Forbes, Preston Cooper notes:
The Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts that job opportunities for reporters and correspondents will shrink by 8% over the next decade. These jobs currently pay a median annual wage of $37,820.
....What is questionable is the issue of who pays for the degree.
President Obama put limits on repaying back student loans at the 20-year mark, meaning anyone who takes out debt at the $150,000 level is only going to be repaying a fraction of that debt.
The taxpayers will pick up the remainder of the tab.
Should the taxpayers be paying for that?
Particularly if the journalists being turned out end up being advocacy journalists on just one side of the political spectrum?
That is worth asking..."

LIMBAUGH: It's 1984 At Google | Daily Wire:

Image result for Flicker Commons Images Big Brother 1984"Google's firing of software engineer James Damore for daring to express politically incorrect ideas in an internal memo is the latest example of the political left's tyrannical propensity to suppress speech, thought and dissent.

Almost as troubling as the left's policing is its apparent obliviousness toward its own hypocrisy and the danger it poses to the liberal exchange of ideas. While constitutional issues may not be involved in the Google case because no state action is involved, moral shaming has become a chilling cudgel in the hands of leftist-dominated institutions."

What draws people to anarchy? Left-wing extremism and smashing stuff but mostly smashing stuff - Hot Air Hot Air

What draws people to anarchy? Left-wing extremism and smashing stuff but mostly smashing stuff - Hot Air Hot Air:
"The Washington Post published a piece today titled “What draws Americans to anarchy? It’s more than just smashing windows.”
The story itself isn’t as dumb as the headline suggests, but it never does demonstrate that what draws people to anarchism is anything beyond a kind of left-wing outlaw chic.
Legba Carrefour was one of the organizers behind Disrupt J20, the group of black bloc anarchists who created hassles at inauguration checkpoints and riots through parts of Washington, D.C.
Carrefour tells the Post he became an anarchist after watching the G20 protests in Seattle on television.
He knows smashing things turns people off but tells the Post, “The notion of convincing people is a liberal idea.”
He adds, “I also think it’s important to attack the symbols of capitalism. It’s just property at the end of the day.”..."

Is China's Fleet of Underwater Ocean Drones for Science, or Military Power? - The Daily Galaxy --Great Discoveries Channel

Is China's Fleet of Underwater Ocean Drones for Science, or Military Power? - The Daily Galaxy --Great Discoveries Channel:
Image result for China has deployed underwater drones -torpedo-shaped vehicles"China has deployed underwater drones -torpedo-shaped vehicles — called Haiyi, or sea wings in Mandarin- in the strategic South China Sea waterway for scientific purposes where they will remain underwater for a month, according to reports.
...But observers ask is the technology actually being used as a political and military tool to secure its territorial ambitions.
Beijing claims a massive section of the South China Sea that extends roughly 1,000 miles from its southern shores.
Late last month, Beijing dropped a dozen of the underwater drones, also known as unmanned underwater vehicles, in an unspecified location in the international waterway to carry out "scientific observations," state-run media outlet Xinhua reported.
The huge area China claims is home to significant energy deposits and the world's busiest shipping routes, but Vietnam, the Philippines, Malaysia, Brunei and Taiwan also assert sovereign rights over parts of the international waterway..."
