"The stories you heard about the 12 Russians yesterday took place during the Obama Administration, not the Trump Administration," Trump wrote on Twitter. "Why didn’t they do something about it, especially when it was reported that President Obama was informed by the FBI in September, before the Election?'

Trump blames Obama administration after Russia indictments: 'Why didn't they do something about it?' | Fox News:
President Trump on Saturday sharply criticized the Obama administration for not doing "something" about the 12 Russian intelligence agents who were indicted for allegedly hacking emails during the 2016 election.
"The stories you heard about the 12 Russians yesterday took place during the Obama Administration, not the Trump Administration," Trump wrote on Twitter. "Why didn’t they do something about it, especially when it was reported that President Obama was informed by the FBI in September, before the Election?'

Dianne Feinstein Failed To Disclose Stock Before Zuckerberg Testified - Conservative Daily Post:
When Sen. Dianne Feinstein grilled Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg in April, she failed to disclose that her husband had just purchased nearly a quarter of a million dollars worth of Facebook stock. It’s very interesting that the gun-grabbing Democrat “forgot” to “disclose” a major investment her spouse made into the company she was supposed to be questioning at a congressional hearing. Now, it makes sense why she didn’t ask any tough questions.

"German Chancellor Angela Merkel stunned the world in 2015 by announcing that she would allow nearly a million asylum seekers into her country, a humanitarian gesture offering hope to those suffering from the ravages of wars worldwide.
The move transformed her into the poster child for opening up international borders.
High-profile German politicians, mainstream media outlets, and the public rallied behind the idea. Images of Germans welcoming refugees at train stations matched public opinion polls showing majority support for the new arrivals.
To those who were feeling a bit nervous, the chancellor reassured them that the country and her government could "handle it."
But by 2018, the public mood had soured significantly.
A new YouGov poll finds 72 percent of Germans saying their country's immigration policy is negligent, with only 12 percent saying it's about right.
Last week, the reversal in public sentiment became official when the German chancellor ended a standoff with hardline immigration restrictionists in the government by dealing a mortal blow to the concept of open borders.
She agreed to speed up deportations, to turn back refugees already registered in another European Union nation, and to let anti-immigration leader Horst Seehofer remain as head of the ministry charged with implementing these policies.
...The deal is a dramatic repudiation of everything Merkel asked Germans to believe in just three years ago, which leaves many wondering: What on Earth went wrong?...

NATO’s problem is that Europeans won’t fight | Asia Times
"...President Trump outraged European opinion by denouncing his allies on the far side of the Atlantic for their failure to meet NATO’s spending target of 2% of GDP.
Other alliance members, he added, should spend 4% of their output on defense, just like America does.
His dudgeon at the Europeans was more than justified: the Europeans really are deadbeats who don’t pay their fair share of the cost of defending their own countries and leave the burden in the hands of American soldiers and taxpayers.
Trump’s remonstrations will fall on deaf ears.
Why should Europeans spend money on arms, when they have no intention of using them?
A recent opinion poll found that small minorities in the core European members of NATO were willing to fight for their country under any circumstances.

Dem Senator Worries His Party Is Going Too Far Left | The Daily Caller:

Democratic Delaware Sen. Chris Coons is worried his party is alienating moderate voters by moving too far to the left.
“If we as a Democratic Party are going to move from a minority at every level that is dedicated to resistance, to a majority that is capable of governing, we have got to move from grievance to optimism,” Coons said in a speech on Thursday

Retiring Worn-Out Wind Turbines Could Cost Billions That Nobody Has - Slashdot:
"schwit1 shared this article from Energy Central News:
Estimates put the tear-down cost of a single modern wind turbine, which can rise from 250 to 500 feet above the ground, at $200,000...
Which means landowners and counties in Texas could be on the hook for tens or even hundreds of millions of dollars if officials determine non-functional wind turbines need to be removed.
Or if that proves to be too costly, as seems likely, some areas of the state could become post-apocalyptic wastelands steepled with teetering and fallen wind turbines, locked in a rigor mortis of obsolescence.
Companies will of course have the option of upgrading those aging wind turbines with new models, a resurrection of sorts.
Yet the financial wherewithal to do so may depend on the continuation of federal wind subsidies, which is by no means assured.
