...Staff Sgt. Paul Davies says the video appears to have been shot in a rural area near Milton, Ont., where a temporary mosque was established.
Davies says the video was shot around the Muslim holiday of Eid.
He says that while police have no reason to believe the cow was slaughtered in a cruel manner, officers are still investigating to ensure the animal’s death was in line with the Food Safety and Quality Act..."

In an amusing story, a government-funded media outlet notorious for its liberal slant found that the overwhelming majority of school shootings listed in a federal report never occurred. The embarrassing blunder involves Department of Education (DOE) figures stating that schools around the U.S. reported an alarming 235 shootings in one year. National Public Radio (NPR) launched an investigation and actually contacted every one of the schools included in the DOE data, which was gathered by its Office for Civil Rights. The figures focus on the 2015-2016 school year and reveal that “nearly 240 schools…reported at least 1 incident involving a school-related shooting.”

A 60-year-old man in Grand Rapids, Michigan, was arrested Wendesday for verbally attacking a 5-year-old African-American girl and urinating on her.
According to the charges, David Allen Dean, a Grand Rapids resident, found the 5-year-old ​black girl as she was hiding in the bushes near a parking lot during a hide-and-seek game. According to witnesses, Dean began to urinate on the girl, while laughing, "you stupid [N-word]."
According to police, another 5-year-old and two 7-year-old ​children witnessed the incident.
Katrena Rapier, the mother of two of the boys who witnessed the event, told 24 Hour News 8 that the kids were playing hide-and-seek in a parking lot near the local library, when Dean appeared and began to shout.
The girl, a neighbor, came back with Rapier's boys. Rapier recalled the girl was crying.
"She’s like, 'I’m wet,' and she was holding her head," Rapier told News 8. “She was like, 'My hair’s wet and my clothes are all wet.'"
Police was notified 20 minutes after the incident. They were able to quickly identify Dean, who turned out to be not only Rapier's neighbor, but a convicted sex offender who spent 14 years in prison for assaulting a minor."

"A Washington union agreed to stop skimming dues out of the paychecks of home health care workers caring for patients with Medicaid, according to the Freedom Foundation.
The free market think tank Freedom Foundation filed a federal class-action lawsuit against Washington state and local 775 of the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) in July. 
The lawsuit stemmed from the state taking union due payments out of Medicaid payments to the home health care workers on behalf of their clients. (Most are family members taking care of their own spouse or child.)
...“It’s difficult to understate how brazen unions like SEIU can be when it comes to taking other people’s money,” Freedom Foundation director of labor policy Maxford Nelsen told The Daily Caller News Foundation in a statement. 
“In this case, it took

•  two U.S. Supreme Court decisions 
• and a federal class-action lawsuit 

just to get SEIU 775 to stop seizing 3.2 percent of caregivers’ wages without their permission. 
And the complicity of the state in this scheme is frankly disgusting.”
...“The Janus decision had consequences beyond freeing public employees from having to financially support a union,” Nelsen told TheDCNF. 
“This is probably the biggest secondary victory for workers we’ve seen yet stemming from the Janus case.”
The courtroom victory is the first of its kind to come since Janus was decided, boding badly for any future union or state action aimed at making workers pay union dues without express consent."
