Report: No Global Warming For 215 Months

Report: No Global Warming For 215 Months | The Daily Caller:
"The numbers are in and the verdict is that there has been no global warming for 17 years and 11 months, according to satellite data.

Satellite data prepared by Lord Christopher Monckton shows there has been no warming trend from October of 1996 to August of 2014 — 215 months. To put this in perspective, kids graduating from high school this year have not lived through any global warming in their lifetimes.

According to Monckton — the third Viscount Monckton of Brenchley and a former policy adviser to U.K. Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher — the rate of warming has been half of what climate scientists initially predicted in the early 1990s.

The United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) first predicted in 1990 that global temperatures would rise at a rate of 2.8 degrees Celsius per century. But the temperature rise since the IPCC’s prediction has only been at a rate of 1.4 degrees Celsius per century.

The so-called “pause” in global warming has baffled climate scientists, as many climate models did not predict a prolonged period of little to no warming. While some climate scientists deny the “pause” in global warming even exists, others have looked to places ocean and wind patterns for answers as to why there has been no warming for nearly two decades.

There are now literally dozens of potential explanations for the global warming “pause,” ranging from increasing volcanic activity to Chinese coal-fired power plant emissions."

Holi crapoli!!!!!------Ebola Spreading 'Exponentially' as Patients Seek Beds in Liberia

Ebola Spreading 'Exponentially' as Patients Seek Beds in Liberia - NBC News.com:

"The Ebola virus is spreading exponentially across Liberia as patients fill taxis in a fruitless search for medical care, the World Health Organization said Monday.
In Sierra Leone, a doctor working for WHO tested positive and was preparing to be evacuated from the country.
Meanwhile, the newest U.S. patient, a doctor infected in Liberia, was feeling a little better and could even eat a little, doctors treating him in Nebraska said.
The various reports illustrated in the clearest possible way the disparities driving the epidemic in West Africa, where there’s almost no medical system structure.
The three patients evacuated to the United States have all begun to recover quickly once they get good supportive care, which includes around-the-clock nursing care and good nutrition."

School Board Bans Chapstick: Gateway Drug to What ... Maybe Burt's Bees Lip Balm?

School Board Bans Chapstick: Gateway Drug to What ... Maybe Burt's Bees Lip Balm? - Hit & Run : Reason.com
An 11-year-old Stuarts Draft Elementary School student has collected petition signatures and officially asked the county school board to allow elementary students to use Chapstick.
Stuarts Draft fifth-grader Grace Karaffa appeared before the school board Thursday night, saying she had requested the substance while on the playground after suffering chapped lips.
"I was told I couldn't use it. Then later that day they (lips) started to bleed so I asked for Chapstick again and I was told that it was against the school policy for elementary kids to have Chapstick,'' Grace said.
Grace asked the school board to change its policy. "Chapstick allows the human body to heal the lips themselves and protects them in any weather from drying out,'' she said. She concluded her speech by saying, "Please school board, allow us to have Chapstick."
The response?
George Earhart, the assistant superintendent for administration with the Augusta County Schools, said Chapstick is considered an over-the-counter medication by the school board. The board has a policy regarding such medicines. He said Chapstick could be allowed if a physician asked for a student to use it, and it was administered by a school nurse.

According to Memphis police, the group emerged from a restaurant in the same strip mall and immediately attacked a 25-year-old man as he left his car in the parking lot and headed for the grocery store.
Two grocery store employees ran to the man's aide, and the black mob attacked them as well, brutally beating all three victims into unconsciousness.
Police report that the crowd of up to 20 teens were laughing and yelling "fan mob."

"Fairchild said the threat is longterm and that homegrown radicals “know that when they go to Iraq that these guys are beheading people and putting their heads on spikes, killing hostages hundreds at a time — they know that before they go and they’ve already accepted that, so to them if Baghdadi says ‘go and gas these suckers, go and behead these suckers’ … Baghdadi says we’re going to kill as many of them as possible in the most horrifying way as possible just to show them.”

Japan economic collapse!

News from The Associated Press:
"TOKYO (AP) -- Japan's economy shrank more sharply in the second quarter than first estimated and the latest indicators suggest only a modest bounce back since then.

The world's third-largest economy contracted at an annualized rate of 7.1 percent in the April-June quarter, according to updated government figures Monday.
The initial estimate released earlier this month said the economy contracted 6.8 percent.
Business investment fell more than twice as much as first estimated.
The economy's contraction was expected after Japan increased its sales tax from 5 percent to 8 percent on April 1."

Why the lies?!!!---------------If The Economy Is Recovering, Why Is The Labor Force Participation Rate At A 36 Year Low?

If The Economy Is Recovering, Why Is The Labor Force Participation Rate At A 36 Year Low?
Labor Force Participation RateWe have never seen an extended precipitous decline of this nature before.
But instead of admitting that we have a very serious problem on our hands, many mainstream economists are dismissing this decline as "structural in nature".  For example, check out the following excerpt from a recent Reuters article...
A paper published on Thursday by the Brookings Institution, a Washington-based think tank, suggested the decline was primarily due to an aging population and other structural factors, and concluded the labor force would continue to shrink.
But there is a major flaw in this analysis.  It turns out that older Americans are the only group for which employment numbers have actually been going up.  I really like how Zero Hedge made this point the other day...
Well that's very odd, because it was only two months ago that the Census wrote the following [5]: "Many older workers managed to stay employed during the recession; in fact, the population in age groups 65 and over were the only ones not to see a decline in the employment share from 2005 to 2010 (Figure 3-25)... Remaining employed and delaying retirement was one way of lessening the impact of the stock market decline and subsequent loss in retirement savings."

Kicking Sand in Obama's Face

Kicking Sand in Obama's Face :: SteynOnline
Obama on August 29th:
We are not taking military action to solve the Ukrainian problem... It is not in the cards for us to see a military confrontation between Russia and the United States in this region. Keep in mind, however, that I'm about to go to a NATO conference. Ukraine is not a member of NATO, but a number of those states that are close by are. And we take our Article Five commitments to defend each other very seriously.
Steyn on August 29th:
If you were the Estonian government, would you actually be reassured by that? And if you were Putin, if you were Putin sitting in the Kremlin, and you just wanted to mess with Obama, wouldn't you be slightly ever-so-tempted just to invade Estonia, just to see whether Obama follows through on that Article Five thing?
Putin on September 5th:
On Friday morning, less than 48 hours after President Obama delivered a speech in Estonia warning that Russian aggression against Estonia could trigger war with the US and NATO, Russian security forces have seized an officer with Estonia's state security bureau at gunpoint and taken him into Russia.
From Benghazi to the Baltic, the world has the measure of Obama. The only people who don't are America's besotted, parochial elite and the deluded electorate who made this man "leader of the free world".

Extra info:
Article 5 is known as the "one-for-all and all-for-one" article, the keystone of NATO as an organization. It states that an "armed attack" against one member is an attack against all and sets in motion the possibility of collective self-defense.
However, it only commits members to "assist the party or parties so attacked" and to take "such action as it deems necessary, including the use of armed force…." It does not automatically result in military action.

And who REALLY benefits from this?-------Michigan awards $90M deal to builder of problem-plagued HealthCare.gov

Michigan awards $90M deal to builder of problem-plagued HealthCare.gov | Detroit Free Press | freep.com:
LANSING — The State of Michigan has awarded computer contracts worth nearly $90 million to the Canadian firm that built the federal government’s Affordable Care Act website and took much of the blame for its disastrous launch.

Officials in the administration of Gov. Rick Snyder chose CGI Technologies and Solutions, whose parent company is headquartered in Montreal, over three U.S.-based firms.

CGI did not submit the lowest bid.
Accenture, a management consulting and technology firm headquartered in New York, offered the lowest price by nearly $5 million, but “CGI provided best value,” Kurt Weiss, a spokesman for the Michigan Department of Technology, Management and Budget, said Friday.

State officials were “aware that there may be potential arguments that CGI is not a qualified vendor based on their recent involvement with health care at the federal level” and the HealthCare.gov website, Weiss said.

Dems eye digital absentee ballots as way to boost turnout for their candidates

Tim Skubick: Dems eye digital absentee ballots as way to boost turnout for their candidates | MLive.com:
If you don’t scrutinize this carefully, you are likely to overlook the political importance of a new scheme to get young voters to vote.
It was announced last week that the Democrats are promoting a “digital absentee voting application” process aimed at those who vote the least, i.e. those between 18-35.
The smartphone and the Internet are the vehicles in this strategy because this age group lives and dies by them. It is one thing to make it easier to access an absentee voter ballot but the trick is to get them to use it.
Here’s the context of the Democratic move. Party chair Lon Johnson is on a crusade to drive up his voter turnout in the fall. He has 900,000 Democrats who failed to vote in the governor’ race four years ago. If he can motivate them to vote this year, Mark Schauer might be your next governor, or so Mr. Johnson hopes and prays.
Driving up the absentee vote is a means toward that end and making it easier to secure a ballot from your local clerk is the pitch to the young voters. Right now you need to show-up in person and get an application by fax or phone. In other words it is labor intensive. With this digital absentee voting application process, the voter is just one touch screen or one click away from securing a ballot.
Mr. Johnson figures if he gets only a small percentage of those AWOL 900,000, it is worth a try and he’s geeked about this working.

Mysterious Phony Cell Towers Could Be Intercepting Your Calls

Mysterious Phony Cell Towers Could Be Intercepting Your Calls | Popular Science:
"Who is running these interceptors and what are they doing with the calls?
Goldsmith says we can’t be sure, but he has his suspicions.
“What we find suspicious is that a lot of these interceptors are right on top of U.S. military bases.
So we begin to wonder – are some of them U.S. government interceptors?
Or are some of them Chinese interceptors?” says Goldsmith.
“Whose interceptor is it?
Who are they, that's listening to calls around military bases?
Is it just the U.S. military, or are they foreign governments doing it?
The point is: we don't really know whose they are.”"
