Israeli virologist urges world leaders to calm public, slams 'unnecessary panic' | The Times of Israel
‘People think this virus is going to attack them all, and then they’re all going to die,’ says Prof. Jihad Bishara. ‘Not at all. In fact, most of those infected won’t even know it’

A leading Israeli virologist on Sunday urged world leaders to calm their citizens about the coronavirus pandemic, saying people were being whipped into unnecessary panic.
...It’s not in the air.
Not everyone [who is infected] dies; most of them will get better and won’t even know they were sick, or will have a bit of mucus.”
But in Israel and around the world, “everybody is whipping everybody else up into panic — the leaders, via the media, and the wider public — who then in turn start to stress out the leaders.
We’ve entered some kind of vicious cycle.”"

Overton Window
"The Overton window is the range of policies politically acceptable to the mainstream population at a given time.
It is also known as the window of discourse.
The term is named after Joseph P. Overton, who stated that an idea's political viability depends mainly on whether it falls within this range, rather than on politicians' individual preferences.
According to Overton, the window frames the range of policies that a politician can recommend without appearing too extreme to gain or keep public office given the climate of public opinion at that time."

Bill Maher said Friday that he is "hoping" for the bottom to fall out of the economy and for the country to enter a recession so we can "get rid of Trump."
He said one way to do that is a "crashing economy."

Thunderdome 2020 Begins – Philadelphia Police Will Not Arrest for Burglary or Theft Due to Coronavirus… | The Last Refuge
"As an outcome of short-sighted coronavirus issues, the Philadelphia police department has announced they will no longer be arresting suspects for retail theft, auto theft, burglary, narcotics or other “non violent” offenses.
Instead they will write tickets, release the suspects and address the criminality later on.  Now watch what happens.
CTH saw the instructions earlier today (see below) but we did not want to immediately distribute the information.
It should be remembered the current Philadelphia police commissioner, Danielle Outlaw (pictured left), is a social justice  activist from Portland, Oregon.
Unfortunately, there is a predictive element to this.  Perhaps some are familiar with the post Hurricane Andrew experience in Homestead and Miami-Dade.
The only thing standing between law-abiding citizens and those who would take their possessions is an ability to defend your own property.
This is now the Philadelphia reality..."

Image result for flickr commons images Wuhan China“It might be US army [sic] who brought the epidemic to Wuhan,” tweeted a Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson last week. He then followed up by tweeting a report from a conspiracy website, stating that it provided “further evidence that the virus originated in the US.”
There are no words to describe the absurdity of the accusation, but for those who monitor China’s ruling regime it comes as no surprise. Deflection and blame are par for the course, but what is surprising is how many in the United States media are inadvertently carrying water for Beijing.

A supply chain management expert appeared on Thursday night’s edition of “Tucker Carlson Tonight” to explain why toilet paper shortages aren’t exactly what Americans should be looking for long-term in the wake of the coronavirus epidemic.
Daniel Stanton, the author of “Supply Chain Management for Dummies,” broke down the basics about supply chains and how they can be disrupted by events like coronavirus before explaining that “demand shocks” are what many Americans are currently experiencing with shortages of items like toilet paper, masks and hand sanitizer.
