"Gov. Gretchen Whitmer repeatedly boasted in May that the state is dramatically increasing the number of daily coronavirus tests, a key metric to reopening the economy.
...“Right now we’re seventh in the nation in terms of daily tests that are done.”
It turns out Michigan was artificially inflating its testing totals by combining two very different kinds of tests — those that identify an active infection and those that indicate past exposure, providing an inaccurate picture of the state’s testing capacity.
...By combining the diagnostic and antibody tests, Michigan was muddying key statistics that public health officials use to measure the scope of the outbreak and when it’s safe to reopen the economy.
On Friday, the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) said it would no longer combine both types of tests following media reports about a handful of other states engaging in the misleading practice...

Those who resigned specifically cited City of Hallandale Beach Police Chief Sonia Quinones kneeling with protesters against racism, hatred, and intolerance as the reason for their startling act.
"The risk of carrying out our duties in this capacity is no longer acceptable to us and our families. The anguish and stress of knowing that what we may be lawfully called upon to do in today's political climate combined with the team's current situation and several recent local events, leave us in a position that is untenable," the officers said in their resignation letter.

"As many of you know, me, Colin and his family are all in Myrtle Beach for vacation. What started off as a great trip turned into one of the worst experiences of my entire life.

Dumpster fire forces people in CHAZ to call Seattle fire department - TheBlaze
But it gets better. The independent citizens of the autonomous zone were concerned about the blaze, so they put out the fire themselves because after all they are "autonomous." Just kidding. The CHAZ natives called the taxpayer-funded Seattle fire department to put out the dumpster fire because, of course, they did.
