A group representing thousands of media outlets wants the Department of Justice to consider Google’s negative impact on journalism as the agency continues its antitrust investigation targeting the tech giant.
The News Media Alliance gave Attorney General William Barr a report Thursday highlighting how Google has allegedly using its dominant position online hollow out the news industry. Google allegedly compensates publishers at lower rates than would exist in a more competitive marketplace, the group wrote in a letter to Barr that included the report.

To me, that’s technically correct to call that a case, but it’s very misleading to people.
When people hear case, they think that person wound up in the hospital, and it’s not true..."

In an interview with Fox News’ Bill Hemmer, Carson was asked about the removal of statues of historical figures such as Christopher Columbus and Thomas Jefferson, to which he responded by saying it is “rather silly” and described why he thinks they should remain standing.
Hemmer also mentioned Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi’s decision to have four paintings of former Speakers who served in the Confederacy removed from the U.S. Capitol.

Police officers are rarely fired, rarely charged with a crime, and rarely convicted of a crime. All other factors resolved, this would still present an incentive for excessive use of force.

"Chicago rapper Tray Savage was reportedly shot to death on Friday morning (June 19) while he was driving on the South Side of the city.
According to the Chicago Sun-Times, the 26-year-old had just dropped off his girlfriend on South Evans Avenue at around 11 a.m. when shots rang out.

Business owners, afraid that Mayor Jenny Durkan will continue to let the rioters go buck wild while simultaneously standing down the cops, are hiring private security at a frantic pace.
The Seattle Times reports that local security firms have been swamped with calls asking for private security to watch their businesses in case rioters, arsonists and looters further target them.
...The Q-13 TV news team hired a private security guard who stopped two active shooters. The antifa protesters had just fired off two AR-15 rifles stolen from police cars during the Seattle riots before the siege on Capitol Hill.

Rioters in Portland, Oregon, toppled a nearly 100-year-old George Washington statue Thursday night. Before tearing the monument down, activists burned American flags and spray-painted the words "BLM" for Black Lives Matter and "genocidal colonist" on the statue.
About 30 to 40 activists gathered at the George Washington statue, located on the lawn of the German American Society in northeast Portland, at 11 p.m. Thursday. The statue of the first U.S. president was spray-painted with graffiti, including "Big Floyd" for George Floyd, "f*** cops," "white fragility," and "1619," a reference to the New York Times "project" that argues that "no part of America has been untouched by slavery."
