The city cancelled street fairs, outdoor concerts and parades due to health concerns, de Blasio told Wolf Blitzer in an interview Thursday night. De Blasio said it’s “just not time” for events that draw thousands to the city.

"Michigan college campuses are going to look very different this fall.
...Officials are urging adaptability and conscientiousness
...The outbreak moved Gov. Gretchen Whitmer to sign an executive order aimed at reducing crowded indoor bar atmospheres.
Now, patrons must wear masks, stay seated and can’t congregate on dance floors.
...“We are in our prime and people are going to want to see their friends, but it’s a matter of respecting other people’s health as well,” West said
...“We are deeply concerned about what is going to go on at student rental housing, fraternities and sororities where there won’t be oversight and control over the need to social distance and mask,” said Vail.

We Can't Have 'National Dialogues' If People Get Fired For Talking

We Can't Have 'National Dialogues' If People Get Fired For Talking

  • No one outside conservative media can criticize Black Lives Matter without being fired or ostracized, so how can we expect the average American to chime in for a productive dialogue?

“...the Black Lives Matter movement’s radical cultural hegemony.
We Can’t Have ‘National Dialogues’ If People Get Fired For Talking HonestlyEstablishment Republicans made the same mistake by ignoring the movement’s radical premise: that at its core, America is rotten and systemically racist, and thus woke Americans must rebuild and reimagine the country from the ground up.
...Maybe many Americans are willing to have a productive conversation about race.
Maybe they want ...to respectfully question the merits of workplace diversity training programs, for example.
But the risk in participating far outweighs any reward.
Bow or Be Canceled
  • A Vermont school principal was placed on administrative leave for writing on Facebook, “I firmly believe that Black Lives Matter, but I DO NOT agree with the coercive measures taken to get to this point across; some of which are falsified in an attempt to prove a point.”
  • Tim Gordon, a Catholic high school theology teacher, was fired for comparing Black Lives Matter to a terrorist organization.
  • A Massachusetts Institute of Technology Catholic chaplain was forced to resign after sending an email in which he said Floyd had “not lived a virtuous life.”

More than 25,000 U.S. university teachers signed a petition that touts job-seeking migrants by demeaning U.S. citizenship as merely an “artificial distinction” between Americans and foreigners.
The dismissal of citizenship by citizen funded academics is being used to rationalize their support for smuggling their fee-paying foreign graduates into the jobs needed right now by their unemployed American students, said Mark Krikorian, director of the Center for Immigration Studies.

On Friday’s broadcast of the Fox News Channel’s “Fox News @ Night,” Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt (R) reacted to reports that a search warrant was served by St. Louis police on the home of Mark and Patricia McCloskey by stating that Missouri law gives individuals “really expansive authority” to protect themselves and their property and said that St. Louis Circuit Attorney Kim Gardner (D) “has a record of making politically-motivated decisions not based on the law.”

Police are searching for vandals who allegedly cut down a flagpole holding an American flag at a 9/11 memorial in Washingtonville, New York.
The memorial honors five firefighters from the area who lost their lives during the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center on September, 11, 2001.
According to the Times Herald-Record, the severed flag pole was discovered early Wednesday morning and reported to police. Washingtonville Police Chief Brian Zaccaro said that the vandals used a tool to cut through the composite material pole and left a message on the four or five feet of pole that remained in place.

"Following the passage of the JumpStart tax, (city council member) Sawant issued a grave warning to "Jeff Bezos and his class," saying any repeal effort would result in the proletariat finally casting off their chains.
"If you attempt to overturn the Amazon Tax, working people will go all out in the thousands to defeat you," said Sawant.

If One Brave CEO Sent Customers and Employees This Letter, It Would Be a Game-Changer

If One Brave CEO Sent Customers and Employees This Letter, It Would Be a Game-Changer
"In the wake of nationwide riots and looting, corporations decided to make wild declarations about their commitment to the organization Black Lives Matter and send them directly to customers or post them on social media.
You may have seen one of these and rolled your eyes. I know I have.

The Real BLM

Panicked CEOs decided to throw their money into a dark hole, where the leaders of the organization refuse to be transparent about how funds are spent.
Image result for blm criminalSome analyses have shown BLM spends very little on local programs and much more on travel and consultingStill other investigations have shown the BLM national organization is not a charity under IRS guidelines. Instead, they “borrow” 501(c)(3) status from a group called 1000 Currents. This charity just happens to be headed by a domestic terrorist who spent 16 years in federal prison for various bombings and other crimes. She would have stayed longer, but Bill Clinton pardoned her.

A courageous CEO and executive team could have easily taken a different stance.

From the CEO

  • If I were still involved in internal communications or giving input to external communications, I would have suggested something like this.
Dear Employee/Customer,
In response to recent events, Company X wants to reaffirm our commitment to diversity and inclusion. We strive to ensure our company is a reflection of the communities where we work and live, and our hiring and promotion policies reflect this.
However, at this time, we feel a need to redirect some of our corporate giving to assist disadvantaged communities. We evaluate our charitable partners very carefully and ensure that the majority of their funds go to programs in the communities they serve.
Company X is committing to $10M over five years to the Woodson Center. Founded in 1981 by civil rights leader Bob Woodson, the organization has a long history of improving distressed communities focusing on reducing violence and combatting addiction. They use 92.7% of donations to benefit their nationwide portfolio of programs...
Signed,
A CEO with Courage
