Wayne State forfeits state funding- Coconspirators giddy!
14 of Michigan's public universities to benefit as Wayne State forfeits state funding | Detroit Free Press | freep.com:
"Wayne State University’s 8.9% tuition hike, which violated a tuition increase cap put in place by the Legislature, will benefit Michigan’s other public universities as they now divide funding that would have gone to WSU.
State Budget Director John Nixon formally notified WSU on Sept. 10 that it was forfeiting $534,700 in performance funding.
That money, in turn, was divided among the other 14 public universities.
....But at Wayne State, the lost state money is far less than the university is getting from its tuition hike.
The increase, which is 5.15% higher than the state limit, is expected to generate around $7 million in additional revenue this year, WSU spokesman Matt Lockwood said."

Michigan Strategic Fund under fire over incomplete, overstated data on job creation | MLive.com:
"LANSING — The Michigan Strategic Fund is under fire from both Republicans and Democrats after an audit report found it gave the Legislature incomplete and overstated data on jobs created from business incentive programs.
A report released Tuesday by Michigan's Auditor General found that the MSF, part of the taxpayer-supported Michigan Economic Development Corp., hasn't been verifying that certain grant recipients are meeting program requirements or creating the jobs they promised.
Those "oversights" led to overstated jobs figures in its annual Legislative report."

French compose skit for "Saturday Night Live" except it ain't a joke.... but it ought to be.......
"There has to be some intangible benefit from this ludicrous court ruling?
Indeed there is.
"Advocates of more-limited hours argue that allowing employees to work late or on Sundays can hurt the country's social fabric, preventing families from spending time together."
And there it is: capitalism's ugly underbelly exposed, risking such disastrous consequences as "hurting a country's social fabric" (the country in question of course being France which with Swiss watch regularity undergoes deadly race and unemployment-motivated riots) and preventing families from clicking on their iPads at dinner time. Together.
Unions opposed to late opening said Monday's ruling vindicated their cause.

Obamacare bill SO bad that simply reading or discussing it now classified as hazardous to lib's emotional health!
"It is mindboggling that so many people are totally unaware of ObamaCare, have no interest in discussing it, and are dismissive and rude if someone attempts to have a rational conversation about a law that will drastically change the landscape of this country. This deliberate ignorance continues to beget denial.
....Daily, one learns that ObamaCare is a job destroyer.
