They don't mention his political party in this article. You know what that means------Pennsylvania Judge Sentenced For 28 Years For Selling Kids to the Prison System

Democrat scum judge.
Elected by democrat voters.
Supported by democrat newspapers.
Destroying democrat children.
Sort of surprising this is big news.
It's so common.....
Pennsylvania Judge Sentenced For 28 Years For Selling Kids to the Prison System:
"Mark Ciavarella Jr, a 61-year old former judge in Pennsylvania, has been sentenced to nearly 30 years in prison for literally selling young juveniles for cash. He was convicted of accepting money in exchange for incarcerating thousands of adults and children into a prison facility owned by a developer who was paying him under the table.
The kickbacks amounted to more than $1 million."

You REALLY, REALLY ought to understand the damage that Common Core could do to our students and our country------Common Core Even Affects Letter Grades

Common Core Even Affects Letter Grades | Heartlander Magazine:
"National curriculum mandates are influencing schools across the country in myriad ways, big and small.
One not-so-obvious change is that Common Core standards can influence how teachers grade student work."
...New quarterly report cards were initially eight pages long, but the committee pared that down to one double-sided page.
Now K-8 students are graded M for mastery, P for progression, and L for learning.
“Kids were more excited when I told them they got an A-plus, or a B.
They know that’s pretty good,” Happel said.
“But when you give them a P or M they don’t know what that means.”

My Way News - Biden: US-China ties rely on trust, good motives:
"BEIJING (AP) - U.S. Vice President Joe Biden and Chinese President Xi Jinping are discussing efforts to forge a new model for relations between the major powers, but they've made no public comments about a new Chinese air defense zone that's become a major friction point in Asia."

Girl selling mistletoe for straighter smile is shut down — here’s why | Rare
Those of us familiar with orthodontia know braces aren’t cheap, which is exactly why an 11-year-old Oregon girl decided to sell mistletoe this Christmas season: to help her father with the expense.
But Madison Root’s entrepreneurial endeavor didn’t get any love from city officials Saturday when she went to her local market to sell her bags of freshly handpicked mistletoe wrapped on her uncle’s Oregon farm, reports ABC.
A security guard hired to oversee the public marketplace, however, instructed Madison to stop selling her berry-tipped greenery citing city rules that require vendors have documented approval to sell their goods.

Madison, in an interview with CBS 12 News, pointed out the irony in the situation as a vendor right next to her at the open-air market was peddling signs asking “Got Pot?”

“They’re raising money for pot, and I’m selling mistletoe.”

And, though she was told she could solicit donations without documentation, Madison said she would rather earn her braces.
“I don’t want to beg,” she said. “I would rather work for something than beg.”

Mistletoe orders have snowballed since news of the story broke Sunday, Breitbart reports.
And, as of Monday, Madison has been sporting her new braces.

In a different case in Sanilac County, Ylen is charged with fraud.
She's accused of deceiving a hospice service and many supporters into believing she had cancer. Fundraisers were held for Ylen.
Ylen is well-known in Michigan's Thumb because she talked publicly about being a rape victim after a jury in 2003 convicted a man of sexually assaulting her.
James Grissom served about a decade in prison before his conviction was overturned."

As our president takes his cues from Havana and Sacramento----Venezuela Plunges Into Darkness As President Maduro Lays Out Socialist Vision On National TV

Venezuela Plunges Into Darkness As President Maduro Lays Out Socialist Vision On National TV | Zero Hedge:
"A mere two months after the last widespread blackout to hit Venezuela, major parts of the nation are once again dark tonight as a power outage hit during President Maduro's evening address laying out his new economic philosophy (the inverse of Bernanke's):

*MADURO SAYS VENEZUELANS MUST SAVE MORE, CONSUME LESS
The blackoutt has affected some of the nation's oil refineries (even though they are often powered by separate generator plants).
Maduro himself said this evening's blackout cause was "strange," hinting at "sabotage" and not caused by excess demand (since the same substation that was sabotaged in September has failed).
Perhaps it is time to spend what little discretionary reserves the nation has left on infrastructure instead of Samsung trinkets and military bonuses to keep the people at bay."

Ohio Rep. Marcia Fudge Claims Voter ID Is Racist | Conservative Infidel Conservative Infidel:
"In a letter   to US Attorney Eric Holder, Rep. Marcia Fudge explains her concern about limiting voting due to restrictive legislation.
In her letter she states that in Ohio there are 900,000 Ohioans without proper ID, if legislation passes that would reduce the number of people and their right to vote.
She also states that one in four African-Americans do not hold and Id so this legislation would hit minorities in particular."

And what do you bet most of this production of important chemicals moves off shore?
Dow Chemical looks to spin off, sell 40 plants | Crain's Detroit Business:
"MIDLAND — Dow Chemical is looking to spin off or sell about 40 manufacturing plants from its business as it continues to move away from cyclical commodity products.
The company said today that it expects those deals to happen within the next one to two years.
Almost 2,000 workers will be affected by the moves.
The businesses generate up to $5 billion of total annual revenue."

Birds of feather flock together.....Top Communist Urges Comrades to Cover for Obamacare, Highlight “Racism”

Trevor Loudon's New Zeal Blog » Top Communist Urges Comrades to Cover for Obamacare, Highlight “Racism”:
Communist Party USA Chairman Sam Webb understands how Obamacare could become a huge stumbling block for Democrats attempting to re-take the House and state legislatures in 2014.
He’s urging his troops to not allow that to happen, by covering for Obamacare’s glaring flaws and talking racism.
Sam Webb’s message is clear: Unity on the left, defend Obamacare at all costs and play the race card at every conceivable opportunity.
Sound familiar folks?

MSM sorta let this one slide. Didn't they?

Think before sex. Maybe save yourself an abortion AND breast cancer? What a concept! New study from China helps to prove the Abortion-Breast Cancer Link

The left's WAR ON WOMEN continues as they try to stifle the truth.
Another common sense, personal responsibility concept that is totally covered up by our despicable media.
Articles: New study from China helps to prove the Abortion-Breast Cancer Link:
"In the US we are used to abortion advocates claiming that the risk of elective abortion is relatively trivial, and major medical organizations denying any link between abortion and breast cancer.
Now a powerful new study from China published last week by Yubei Huang and colleagues suggests otherwise.
The article, a meta-analysis pooling 36 studies from 14 provinces in China, showed that abortion increased the risk of breast cancer by 44% with one abortion, and 76% and 89% with two and three abortions."

"What difference does it make....." Cartel Hangs 2 girls, 25 Missing In A Month

Cartel Hangs 2 girls, 25 Missing In A Month | Conservative Infidel Conservative Infidel:
"We might not hear much of it in our news but the cartel war has not died down in any way.
In the last month 25 girls have been abducted, recently two have been found hanging from a bridge Fresnillo Zacatecas after they were taken by the Gulf Cartel Gang.
There intent was to gather information on the Los Zetas, the girls had affiliations with the Zetas.

This fight is over territory the CDG is moving in on the Los Zetas and it is all about retaliation.
It is relevant to us because of the map.
These are border towns.
We know they have no value for human life and how close this is to some of our towns.
We need to make sure we inform each other of what is going on, since we can not count on anyone else to do so."

Maybe just a glitch. Or maybe treasury buys are sittin' on the sidelines-------Auction System Failure Forces US Treasury To Postpone 3, 6-Month Bill Auctions

Auction System Failure Forces US Treasury To Postpone 3, 6-Month Bill Auctions | Zero Hedge:
"While nobody is impressed by breaking equity and options markets anymore, since this has become a virtually daily ocurrence and the habituation level is high, bond markets, and especially the US government's "guaranteed" bond issuance machinery, are a different matter altogether.
Which is why any time something out of the ordinary happens, people pay attention.
Such as what happened moments ago when the US Treasury announced that it would delay the closing of the 3 and 6 month Bill auctions, originally scheduled to close today, to tomorrow.

The reason: "an error that occurred during a test of Treasury's auction system."

This is curious, as it implies there was a test of the system running concurrent with the actual bond auction. One wonders if instead of the stated reason, there simply wasn't yet another "glitch" with TAAPS, which as we reported in September, had an error due to an order by none other than Goldman Sachs, being stuck in the quere, for reasons unknown resulting in yet another abnormal 3 and 6 month Bill auction."

US lawsuit demands 'legal personhood' for chimpanzees - Telegraph:
"A US animal rights group has filed what it said is the first lawsuit seeking to establish the "legal personhood" of chimpanzees.
The non-profit Nonhuman Rights Project asked a New York state court to declare a 26-year-old chimp named Tommy "a cognitively complex autonomous legal person with the fundamental legal right not to be imprisoned.""

Lots of opportunity for "personal gain" here. Lots........Land Banks Profit By Cutting In Front of People Wanting To Buy Property

Another public-private "partnership" hidden in the shadows.
Land Banks Profit By Cutting In Front of People Wanting To Buy Property [Michigan Capitol Confidential]:
"In some cases in Michigan, land banks have scooped up property for the price of back taxes owed and resold it for the benefit of the land bank.
Taxpayers lose because the practice bypasses private sector buyers who may offer more money for the properties at a public auction."

Watch out folks, the taxman (and his trusty sidekick Ms. Spend-it-all) is comin' again! -----Muskegon County-wide technology millage proposal will be on Feb. 25 ballot

Hmmm, I think I can do that one in my head:
"$43 million per year "
10 years.
So you are telling us they're gonna take almost half a billion dollars, $430,000,000, from the taxpayers of Muskegon county and give to people to spend it on really-really-important-stuff-that-they-promise-will-make-kids-smart?!!!
And safe!!!
What greedy monster could possibly be against that.

The sad reality is that even though this is (it should read $43million...I hope!) a mistake, it wouldn't surprise me if it was really $430 MILLION.

Whatever the amount, taking more millions of hard earned dollars from the families and businesses of Muskegon and giving it to unaccountable bureaucrats with the same old promises, the same old lack of public accountability, is a bad idea.
Muskegon County-wide technology millage proposal will be on Feb. 25 ballot | MLive.com:
MUSKEGON COUNTY, MI -- It's official: Muskegon County voters will be asked in February to approve a county-wide tax increase to fund school technology and security improvements.
...The 10-year millage would raise an estimated $43 million per year, which would be distributed to the 11 traditional school districts on a per-pupil basis. It's estimated that schools would receive about $164 per student.
.......The millage would cost the owners of a home with a market value of $90,000, and a taxable value of $45,000, an additional $45 in property tax per year.

Why Liberalism Is On The Wrong Side Of History - John Hawkins - Page full:

They like gay marriage; so everyone must be forced to like gay marriage.
They like PBS; so everyone should be forced to pay for PBS."

Think Detroit as an island "paradise"-----Puerto Rico, with at least $70 billion in debt, confronts a rising economic misery

Puerto Rico, with at least $70 billion in debt, confronts a rising economic misery - The Washington Post:
"SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico — Boxes and wooden crates filled with household items bound for the U.S. mainland are stacked high in the Rosa del Monte moving company’s cavernous warehouse, evidence of the historic rush of people abandoning this beautiful island.

The economy here has been in recession for nearly eight years, crimping tax revenue and pushing the jobless rate to nearly 15 percent.
Meanwhile, the government is burdened by staggering debt, spawning comparisons to bankrupt Detroit and forcing lawmakers to severely slash pensions, cut government jobs and raise taxes in a furious effort to avert default."

Must Read: "A Sailor's Dying Wish"

BLACKFIVE: [Updated] Must Read: "A Sailor's Dying Wish":
"Via our own Mr. Wolf, if you read one thing today, you should make it this piece from I Drive Warships...and have a box of tissues handy.

"After signing my Pop, EM2 Bud Cloud (circa Pearl Harbor) up for hospice care, the consolation prize I’d given him (for agreeing it was OK to die) was a trip to “visit the Navy in San Diego.”
I emailed my friend and former Marine sergeant, Mrs. Mandy McCammon, who’s currently serving as a Navy Public Affairs Officer, at midnight on 28 May.
I asked Mandy if she had enough pull on any of the bases in San Diego to get me access for the day so I could give Bud, who served on USS Dewey (DD-349), a windshield tour..."

But that's not exactly what happened.
Go to IDW and read about what the crew of the Dewey did for Bud Cloud.  "
