The Obamacare pain never ends----Hawaii’s $205 Million Obamacare Exchange Implodes
Hawaii’s $205 Million Obamacare Exchange Implodes | Americans for Tax Reform:
"Despite over $205 million in federal taxpayer funding, Hawaii’s Obamacare exchange website will soon shut down.
Since its implementation, the exchange has somehow failed to become financially viable because of lower than expected Obamacare enrollment figures.
With the state legislature rejecting a $28 million bailout, the website will now be unable to operate past this year.
...This is not the first time that a state exchange has failed, and taken millions of dollars in federal funds down with it.
Earlier this year, Oregon’s state exchange was officially abolished at an estimated cost of $41 million. Cover Oregon, as it used to be known received $305 million in funds from HHS but failed to produce a workable website months after the 2013 November deadline. The debacle has promoted numerous federal agencies and organizations to investigate allegations of inappropriate political interference from then Governor Kitzhaber’s 2014 reelection campaign."

Obama Orders Illegal Aliens To Be Admitted Into Military
Obama Orders Illegal Aliens To Be Admitted Into Military
Per President Barack Obama’s directive last fall, the U.S. Army is enlisting illegal aliens who are so called “Dreamers” into its ranks.
The Hill reports that since January, the Army has enlisted 81 illegal immigrants who received deportation deferrals under the Obama administration’s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program.
Congress is debating whether illegal immigrants should lawfully be allowed into the military. Rep. Ruben Gallego, D-Ariz., inserted a provision in the 2016 defense budget to encourage the enlistment of qualified illegal immigrants.

Here's How Much Michigan 'Prevailing Wage' Law Costs Your School District [Michigan Capitol Confidential]:
Michigan’s “prevailing wage” law costs residents more than $224 million each year, according to the Anderson Economic Group.
Now there’s a website that brings the impact of that even closer to home.
Created by the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) of Michigan, the new site lets people learn the cost of prevailing wage mandates for individual school Districts. www.TimeForRepeal.com/waste-calculator/.
ABC of Michigan, which represents commercial, governmental and industrial construction industries, has consistently advocated for eliminating the state’s prevailing wage law, which essentially requires construction firms doing work for the government to pay union scale wages and follow union work rules.
...In Michigan, House Bill 4001, sponsored by Rep. Amanda Price, R-Holland, would repeal the law and on the Senate side Senate Bill 3, sponsored by Sen. David Robertson, R-Grand Blanc, would do the same.
There are also numerous bills sponsored by other lawmakers that address various aspects of the issue. Senate Majority Leader Arlan Meekhof, R-West Olive, has announced that Senate hearings on repealing the prevailing wage will begin soon.
...The new website includes a “waste calculator” www.TimeForRepeal.com/waste-calculator/,that compares construction costs each district pays to what their costs would be if they were allowed to follow private sector standards

His first step?-----Obama Rips Fox: 'We're Going to Have to Change How the Media Reports'
Obama Rips Fox: 'We're Going to Have to Change How the Media Reports' - Breitbart
For going on seven years we have learned three things about President Obama:
1) He loves the poor so much he continues to create more of them.
2) He loves the poor so much he does everything in his power to keep them poor.
3) He doesn’t see the opposition as loyal, but as bad players — his enemy.
This is especially true of Fox News, which Obama ripped as anti-poor bigots during a Wednesday afternoon summit on poverty.
Speaking of Fox News, the poor, and the way GOP leaders think, Obama said, [W]e’re going to have to change how our body politic thinks, which means we’re going to have to change how the media reports on these issues.”

3) He doesn’t see the opposition as loyal, but as bad players — his enemy.
This is especially true of Fox News, which Obama ripped as anti-poor bigots during a Wednesday afternoon summit on poverty.
We’re used to this Obama, the forever-partisan who has never seen himself as president of all the people but only of those who worship him.
What was most revealing about the president’s comments was his expressed desire to “change how the media reports.”Speaking of Fox News, the poor, and the way GOP leaders think, Obama said, [W]e’re going to have to change how our body politic thinks, which means we’re going to have to change how the media reports on these issues.”
Here is the full transcript:
I think that the effort to suggest that the poor are sponges, leeches, don’t want to work, are lazy, are undeserving, got traction. And look, it’s still being propagated. I have to say that if you watch Fox News on a regular basis, it is a constant venue. They will find folks who make me mad. I don’t know where they find them. They’re all like, “I don’t want to work. I just want a free Obama Phone, or whatever.” And that becomes an entire narrative that gets worked up. And very rarely do you hear an interview of a waitress, which is much more typical — who is raising a couple of kids and doing everything right but still can’t pay the bills. And so, if we’re going to change how Rep. John Boehner (R-OH) and Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) think, we’re going to have to change how our body politic thinks, which means we’re going to have to change how the media reports on these issues, and how people’s impressions of what it’s like to struggle in this economy looks like. And how budgets connect to that. And that’s a hard process because that requires a much broader conversation than typically we have on the nightly news.
After seven failed years, to watch Obama sit there and discuss the poor as though he is part of the solution and not the problem, is laughable.
And let’s not forget that Obama knows nothing about poverty.
He has lived a privileged life.
...Obama likes poor people fine — he likes them dependent on the government.
He also likes the news media to do what it’s told...

Red-faced Barbra Streisand to cut water usage after pictures emerge of her lush gardens amid California drought
- Experts estimate there will be less than a year's worth of drinking water in California's reservoirs at the end of 2015
- Yet the rich and famous of Los Angeles continue to water their lawns with apparently no concern for conservation
- Aerial images have shown the ever-green lawns of Kim Kardashian, Barbra Streisand and Petra Stunt among others
Barbra Streisand appears to have been shamed into cutting her water usage after shocking aerial photographs showed her Malibu yard looking lush and green despite California experiencing its worst drought in history.
Residents across California have been demolishing pools, cutting back on showers and letting their lawns turn brown after experts estimated that there will be less than a year's worth of drinking water left in the state's reservoirs by the end of 2015.
But recent aerial photographs have shown that many stars are keeping their yards well watered with their green lawns contrasting sharply with the dusty brown landscape surrounding them.
Despite being an advocate for energy conservation, Barbra Streisand's beach-side home in Malibu appears green as ever

However, Ms Streisand is apparently now going to turn off the sprinklers, with a source telling the New York Post that she’s going to let some of her plants turn brown.

A spokesman for Streisand had earlier issued a statement to the Post claiming she had cut her water usage by over 50 per cent in the past few months, though photographs showed her pool full and her lawn well manicured.

'The Kardashian flowers and hedges are right in our face,' a neighbor of West and Kardashian in Hidden Hills told the New York Post. 'It’s disgusting. You walk by and you can smell the freshness.'
The reality star previously claimed that she was washing her hair only every five days in response to the drought, a move she called 'a little excessive, maybe'.

And that doesn’t even consider the paperwork companies will have to complete.
AAF data shows that Obama’s energy regulations have burdened Americans with 24.3 million paperwork hours.
That means every year, Americans have to complete an additional 3.95 million hours of paperwork because of energy regulations.

5 Reasons The Qur'an Can Never 'Coexist' With The Constitution... Ever
5 Reasons The Qur'an Can Never 'Coexist' With The Constitution... Ever
So here’s your list. Top 5 reasons the Qur’an stands in direct opposition to the Constitution:
1. It disallows free speech. First Amendment: “Congress shall make no law… abridging freedom of speech.” Qur’an: “Allah likes not the uttering of unseemly speech in public, except on the part of one who is being wronged…” (4:49) And, free speech expressed in the form of cartoons of Muhammad is a very, very bad idea. Unless you want to… you know.
2. Women are to be second-class citizens. Nineteenth Amendment: “The right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any state on account of sex.” Not only do many Sharia-adhering countries not allow women to vote; they also don’t allow them to drive, or be educated, or hold government offices. War on women, maybe? To quote the Qur’an: “The Prophet said, ‘Isn’t the witness of a woman equal to half of that of a man?’ The women said, ‘Yes.’ He said, ‘This is because of the deficiency of a woman’s mind.“ (Sura 2:282). If you’ve got a strong stomach, check out this lengthy list of anti-woman verses from the Qur’an. Muhammad wasn’t too kind to the ladies…
3. The Qur’an allows for violence against one’s fellow man, if he’s not a Muslim. The preamble to the US Constitution makes it kinda clear what we’re going for in this country: “We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty…” Domestic tranquility. Common defense. General welfare. Contrast that with the Qur’an: “I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Therefore strike off their heads and strike off every fingertip of them.” (8:12) Yikes.
4. Slavery’s cool. Especially if it involves women. Thirteenth Amendment of the Constititution: “Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction.” Interestingly, the Qur’an actually devotes more verses to ensuring Muslim men know they can keep women as sex slaves (4) than it does telling them to pray five times a day (0). “O Prophet! We have made lawful to thee thy wives to whom thou hast paid their dowers; and those (slaves) whom thy right hand possesses out of the prisoners of war whom Allah has assigned to thee.” (33:50)
5. Freedom of religion. According to the US Constitution’s First Amendment, Americans are guaranteed this: “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof.” It can probably go without saying, considering hundreds of Christians have been brutally murdered by ISIS due to their faith in Christ; but the Qur’an doesn’t make quite the same allowances: “slay the idolaters wherever you find them, and take them captive and besiege them and lie in wait for them in every ambush.” (9:5) In fact, the Quran contains 109 passages that call Muslims to war against those who choose any other faith. Does that sound like a loving God; or maybe, could it be…

Politicians know this.-----This Is Your Brain on Easy Credit
This Is Your Brain on Easy Credit - WSJ:
"The illusion of continuous economic growth and the explosion of credit have thrown that balance out of whack.
Thanks to the seductive appeal of today’s consumer economy, perhaps for the first time in human history it is the affirmation of reward rather than the fear of punishment or failure that dominates the calculus of risk.
We have become addicted to the quick fix, be that tasty junk food, the electronic cocaine of the Internet, or the painless ease of a credit card purchase.
Research demonstrates that when presented with a choice between a reward now and a greater one after a delay—for instance, $80 today or $100 in two weeks—many of us will opt for the cash in hand, despite its lesser value.
Scientists call this temporal discounting.
Imaging studies using MRIs show that thinking about an immediate reward lights up the brain’s limbic system, which regulates emotion.
Thus passion prevails over reason.
That area of the brain is quieter when we’re considering a reward in the distant future, and thus logic wins out.
Would you rather have $80 in one year, or $100 in a year plus two weeks?
The question answers itself."

Moochelle our new "amerikan mom"----Why kids who aren’t poor are now getting free school lunches
Why kids who aren’t poor are now getting free school lunches - The Washington Post:
It used to be that students from families with low incomes qualified for lunches that were either free or available at a reduced price. That’s still true — but now, new federal rules allow kids who aren’t poor at many schools to get the same thing.
It used to be that students from families with low incomes qualified for lunches that were either free or available at a reduced price. That’s still true — but now, new federal rules allow kids who aren’t poor at many schools to get the same thing.
The change in the rules means not only that more kids will get to eat free- and reduced-price lunch but that what had been broadly used for years as a proxy for poverty rates among schoolchildren will no longer be useful for that purpose. Policymakers and researchers will have to find another measure of poverty...
Under the federal Free and Reduced-Price Lunch Program, which was established in 1946 during the presidency of Harry Truman, students whose families earned no more than 85 percent above the federal poverty line and below that amount could qualify. The percentage of students who qualified has been going up over the years, with some 38 percent in 2001-02 to at least 50 percent by 2011-12. That is different from the official poverty rate of children under 18, which rose to 23 percent in 2013.
New rules that went into effect this year allow for something called the “Community Eligiblity Provision,” which allows schools and districts to provide free breakfast and lunch to all students if at least 40 percent of them of them would have qualified by the old rules....
Why is the federal government doing this? As noted above, it will reduce paperwork for families and schools, but it will also help reduce the stigma that some children feel about eating in a government-funded program at school. You can read more about the program here. The ultimate cost of the program is unclear because nobody yet knows how many students will participate.
