Americans With Retirement Accounts Beware: If Our Government Does What China Just Did You'll Be Wiped Out

Americans With Retirement Accounts Beware: If Our Government Does What China Just Did You'll Be Wiped Out:
We’ve previously warned that elements within the U.S. government have been feverishly working to take control of all retirement assets in America.
The reasoning, of course, is that the government can manage your personal finances better than you can.
They’ve already begun plans to have workers invest their earnings directly into government-managed funds, but at some point, should we get into trouble, they may look to seize those assets outright and put them under central control.
Like the idea of socialized, centrally-managed health care, this sounds like an impossibility in the Land of the Free.
However, it’s already been established, with passage of Obamacare as clear evidence, that should they want to do this, they will.
It’s a danger to be sure, but perhaps not as dangerous as what is happening in China right now.
While Chinese stock markets are in the midst of a massive collapse, the Chinese have tried just about everything to halt the crash that has so far vaporized about 25% of investor wealth in under a month.
Zero Hedge asks:
What do you do when two policy rate cuts, $19 billion in committed support from a hastily contrived broker consortium, and a promise of central bank funding for the expansion of margin lending all fail to quell extreme volatility in a collapsing equity market?
The answer as far as the Peoples’ Republic of China is concerned, is to simply ban people from selling.
Yes, you read that right, as over bloated Chinese stocks disintegrate before our eyes, the Chinese government has contacted their retirement fund brokers and in no uncertain terms told them that they are not allowed to sell a single share of stock.
They can buy all they want, but selling is strictly prohibited, leaving millions of pensioners stuck just watching their retirement accounts being decimated before their eyes.
Well, you can simply ban selling, which is apparently the next step for China.
Read it all and prepare!

Fooling ourselves: Everything is going as (they) planned

Fooling ourselves: Everything is going as (they) planned - Alicia Colon
A faux email recently made the rounds alleging a false attribution but it illustrates perfectly what I feel is America's greatest problem-ignorance.
"The danger to America is not Barack Obama, but a citizenry capable of entrusting a man like him with the Presidency.
It will be far easier to limit and undo the follies of an Obama presidency than to restore the necessary common sense and good judgment to a depraved electorate willing to have such a man for their president. "
In 2009, I wrote a column for the Irish American USA newspaper titled 'Are You Smarter Than A Fifth Columnist?"
In the article I quoted from former FBI agent Dr. Cleon Skousen's book The Naked Communist and listed a few of the 45 goals he claimed were part of the Communist Manifesto.
I did not include number 17---
"Get control of the schools.
Use them as transmission belts for socialism and current Communist propaganda.
Soften the curriculum.
Get control of teachers' associations.
Put the party line in textbooks."
Is that where Common Core originated?...

Greece’s IMF Collapse Shows America what Default Looks Like

Greece’s IMF Collapse Shows America what Default Looks Like | Somewhat Reasonable:
"On June 30th, Greece became the first nation in the European Union to default on payments to the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
Greece, which has been struggling with financial difficulties for some time, refused debt restructuring and austerity efforts, resulting in the extreme measure that has impacted financial markets across the globe.

Greek national debt totals $358 billion, of which $273 billion is owed to various international bailout funds, including the IMF.
...Americans can learn from the Greek default. The United States faces an $18 trillion national debt and a federal budget deficit of $439 billion, brought on by unprecedented government spending.
As global financial experts struggle to pinpoint the exact genesis of Greece’s troubles, it’s clear excessive borrowing and unsustainable spending habits are to blame.
The United States, with a debt to gross domestic product ratio of 71 percent, may have time before it faces a Greek-style economic collapse, but it’s certainly repeating Greece’s financial mistakes. Greek debt levels are at around 177 percent of their national GDP, but just 25 years ago, they were closer to the same levels as the United States..."

Why Winning the Powerball Jackpot Just Got a Little Harder

Why Winning the Powerball Jackpot Just Got a Little Harder | TIME:
"The catch?
Jackpots as low as $4
Your dreams of hitting it big on the lottery just got worse: from 1 in 175,223,510 to 1 in 292,201,338, to be precise.
What’s worse for lottery aficionados?
Jackpots will pay out far smaller sums than the record $590.5 million in 2013.
In fact, it’s more likely—a 1 in 92 chance—that you’ll win just $4.
The New York State Gaming Commission, which oversees the Multi-State Lottery Association, decided Monday to change rules to make the lottery more self-supporting.
The portion of money being allocated to jackpots will go form 68% of the Gaming Commission’s total budget to 64%.
The Gaming Commission plans on setting these new odds by increasing the numbers to choose from in the first set from 59 to 69 and decreasing the numbers to choose from in the second set from 35 to 26.
(Playing the Powerball requires a person to choose five numbers from the first set and one number from the second set.)"

TaxProf Blog: 50-State Fiscal Condition Ranking

TaxProf Blog: 50-State Fiscal Condition Ranking:
"A closer analysis of the individual metrics behind the ranking shows how each state’s fiscal condition should be assessed.
Notably, nearly all states have unfunded pension liabilities that are large relative to state personal income, indicating that all states need to take a closer look at their unfunded pensions, which represent a significant portion of each state’s economy.
Another financial crisis could mean serious trouble for many states that are otherwise fiscally stable."

France Deports 40 Muslim Religious Leaders! - Eagle Rising:

"France seems to have gained a spine over the past year and that is a good thing, and America should learn from what they have done. While the country still has "no-go zones," at least one French mayor has sought to ban Islam. The country was also the first to ban pro-terror Palestinian protests and they opened up their borders to Islamic State persecuted Christians from Iraq. Many even took to the streets to call for all Muslims to be removed from the European country in the wake of the Charlie Hebdo and Paris kosher market jihad attacks by trained Islamic State terrorists. Now France has issued a report that claims the country has expelled 40 Islamic imams."

Obama Leaves Out 'God' From 4th of July Weekly Address (VIDEO) - The Gateway Pundit:
As Obama’s term as President is slowly nearing its end, more and more of who the man is, and what he truly stands for, is beginning to seep out.
For instance, President Obama released his 4th of July weekly address for 2015 with one key ingredient missing: God.
Unlike his weekly addresses during the previous two years, where the President concluded his speeches with “God Bless You All” (2014) and “So, God bless You All. And may God bless The United States of America” (2013), Obama left out any mention of God in his recent address.
Instead, this year, he chose to end his speech with a very politically correct, “Thanks, everybody. From my family to yours, have a safe and happy Fourth of July.”

Greece debt crisis: Milton Friedman's 1997 prediction of the eurozone disaster

Greece debt crisis: Milton Friedman's 1997 prediction of the eurozone disaster | afr.com
Penned in 1997, the late professor Milton Friedman, argued the drive for the Euro was motivated by politics not economics, aiming to make a future European war impossible.
He said that adoption of the Euro would have the opposite effect.
Here's what he wrote:

by Milton Friedman
A common currency is an excellent monetary arrangement under some circumstances, a poor monetary arrangement under others.
Whether it is good or bad depends primarily on the adjustment mechanisms that are available to absorb the economic shocks and dislocations that impinge on the various entities that are considering a common currency.
Flexible exchange rates are a powerful adjustment mechanism for shocks that affect the entities differently.
It is worth dispensing with this mechanism to gain the advantage of lower transaction costs and external discipline only if there are adequate alternative adjustment mechanisms.
The United States is an example of a situation that is favorable to a common currency.
Though composed of fifty states, its residents overwhelmingly speak the same language,
listen to the same television programs,
see the same movies,
can and do move freely from one part of the country to another;
goods and capital move freely from state to state;
wages and prices are moderately flexible;
and the national government raises in taxes and spends roughly twice as much as state and local governments.
Fiscal policies differ from state to state, but the differences are minor compared to the common national policy.
...By contrast, Europe's common market exemplifies a situation that is unfavourable to a common currency.
It is composed of separate nations, whose residents speak different languages, have different customs, and have far greater loyalty and attachment to their own country than to the common market or to the idea of "Europe".
Despite being a free trade area, goods move less freely than in the United States, and so does capital.
...The drive for the Euro has been motivated by politics not economics.
The aim has been to link Germany and France so closely as to make a future European war impossible, and to set the stage for a federal United States of Europe.
I believe that adoption of the Euro would have the opposite effect.
It would exacerbate political tensions by converting divergent shocks that could have been readily accommodated by exchange rate changes into divisive political issues.
Political unity can pave the way for monetary unity.
Monetary unity imposed under unfavorable conditions will prove a barrier to the achievement of political unity.

Feel-good-story-of-the-day!---Alleged Home Invaders Pick Wrong House: Resident with AK47 Kills One, Wounds One

Alleged Home Invaders Pick Wrong House: Resident with AK47 Kills One, Wounds One - Breitbart: "On June 30, two suspects allegedly invaded a home in northeast Vegas.
One suspect was severely wounded and the second was killed by a resident who kept an AK47 in the house.
The incident occurred around 9 a.m.
According to CBS 8, the alleged invasion began with female suspect Tiffany Carter (aka Tarnesha Harris) knocking on the door, then overpowering the 12-year-old who answered it.
Police said the 12-year-old tried to push the door shut after realizing what was going on, “but the woman grabbed him and put him in a headlock.”
Las Vegas PoliceOnce the 12-year-old was subdued, an armed male suspect allegedly ran into the house and burst through the bedroom door of 23-year-old Jesus Javier Sanchez. Shots rang out as Jesus fired a handgun while moving to retrieve his AK47, then grabbed the AK47, and began firing it.
The police report indicates that “the male suspect [then] fled the room down the hall, but he still had the gun in his hands, so Sanchez fired another shot at the suspect striking him once again.”
While the male suspect was trying to get out of the house, the female suspect allegedly moved on to another room and grabbed the purse of Sanchez’s mother.
Sanchez opened fire, striking the female suspect, leaving her unable to do more than “crawl on the ground towards a gold-colored [Oldsmobile]” that waited outside..."

Teachers granted power to ‘confiscate and destroy’ unhealthy school lunches

Teachers granted power to ‘confiscate and destroy’ unhealthy school lunches - EAGnews.org
LONDON – The British government is urging school leaders to use their “common law powers” to search student lunches and potentially confiscate any items they deem “unhealthy or inappropriate.”
Education minister Lord Nash tells Express,
“Schools have common law powers to search pupils, with their consent, for items.
“There is nothing to prevent schools from having a policy of inspecting lunch boxes for food items that are prohibited under their school food policies.
“A member of staff may confiscate, keep or destroy such items found as a result of the search if it is reasonable to do so in the circumstances.”
...There have been glimpses of such policies in the U.S.
A teacher at an Aurora, Colorado school blocked a preschool girl from eating Oreo cookies in her home-packed lunch.
They were accompanied by a ham and cheese sandwich and string cheese.
When the girl returned home from school, the cookies were still in her lunchbox, along with a note:
“Dear Parents, it is very important that all students have a nutritious lunch.
This is a public school setting and all children are required to have a fruit, a vegetable and a heavy snack from home, along with a milk.
If they have potatoes, the child will also need bread to go along with it.
Lunchables, chips, fruit snacks, and peanut butter are not considered to be a healthy snack.
This is a very important part of our program and we need everyone’s participation.”
Pearson’s daughter says her teacher didn’t allow her to eat the cookies during lunch, because “they don’t have enough nutritional value,” according to 9 News.
“What the school thinks is healthy for her is not what I think is healthy for her,” the mother says. “That’s between me and her and our doctor – not the school.”
And now, apparently, to progressives in power...

Staffer Told Ted Cruz He Thought a Reporter Was Nice. The GOP Candidate Responded With Harsh Advice.

Staffer Told Ted Cruz He Thought a Reporter Was Nice. The GOP Candidate Responded With Harsh Advice. | Video | TheBlaze.com:
After a young staffer told Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz how “nice” a member of the media is, Cruz said he actually stopped the young man with a harsh reminder about the intentions of most reporters.
“I actually stopped him and I said, ‘You know what? No, she’s not [nice].
She wants to destroy you.
Nothing would make her happier than to take your life and filet you on the front pages.
And don’t think for a minute that because she smiles and is friendly to you, that it’s anything else,’” Cruz said, sharing the story on The Glenn Beck Program.
“Isn’t that pretty cynical?” Beck asked with a laugh.
“I mean, I agree with you 100 percent, but it’s a little cynical!”
Cruz responded that the mainstream media is full partisans who have “picked a team,” and “when the sheep are walking among coyotes, it pays to be cynical.”
“You see Republicans when they’re interviewed by left-wing reporters, and they get afraid,” Cruz said.
“They want them to like them.
They are not going to like us!
They hate us.”...

Why the Democrats Will Do and Say Anything To Stop Donald Trump | TheBlaze.com:

"Don’t you ever wonder why the GOP has never tried to impeach Obama? Don’t you wonder why John Boehner and Mitch McConnell talk a big game, but never actually try to stop Obama? Don’t you wonder why Congress holds the purse strings, yet they’ve never tried to defund Obamacare or Obama’s clearly illegal Executive Action on amnesty for illegal aliens? Bizarre, right? It defies logic, right?

Well first, I’d guess many key Republicans are being bribed. Secondly, I believe many key Republicans are being blackmailed. Whether they are having affairs or are secretly gay or are stealing taxpayer money; the NSA knows everything.

Ask former House Speaker Dennis Hastert about that. The government even knew Hastert was withdrawing large sums of his own money, from his own bank account. Trust me – the NSA, SEC, IRS and all the other three-letter government agencies are watching every Republican political leader. They know everything.

Thirdly,"

Why the Democrats Will Do and Say Anything To Stop Donald Trump | TheBlaze.com:
"...These run-of-the-mill establishment politicians are all puppets owned by big money.
But one man – and only one man – isn’t beholden to anyone.
One man doesn’t need foreigners, or foreign governments, or George Soros, or the United Autoworkers, or the Teachers Union, or the SEIU, or the Bar Association to fund his campaign.
Billionaire tycoon and maverick Donald Trump doesn’t need anyone’s help.
That means he doesn’t care what the media says.
He doesn’t care what the corporate elites think.
That makes him very dangerous to the entrenched interests.
That makes Trump a huge threat.
Trump can ruin everything for the bribed politicians and their spoiled slavemasters.
Don’t you ever wonder why the GOP has never tried to impeach Obama?
Don’t you wonder why John Boehner and Mitch McConnell talk a big game, but never actually try to stop Obama?

Thirdly, many Republicans are petrified of being called “racists.”
So they are scared to ever criticize Obama, or call out his crimes, let alone demand his impeachment.
Fourth, why rock the boat?
After defeat or retirement, if you’re a “good boy” you’ve got a $5 million dollar per year lobbying job waiting.
The big money interests have the system gamed.
Win or lose … they win.
But Donald Trump doesn’t play by any of these rules..."

University of Minnesota to adopt 'affirmative consent' rule for sex partners

University of Minnesota to adopt 'affirmative consent' rule for sex partners | Star Tribune:
"Debate flares over effect of “yes means yes” standards on students.
The University of Minnesota is joining a national movement requiring students to obtain “affirmative consent” from their sex partners or risk being disciplined for sexual assault.
The policy change, sometimes known as the “yes means yes” rule, has been sweeping college campuses across the country since California passed the first such law last year.
The U’s new rule, which is poised to take effect this month after a 30-day comment period, says that sex is OK only if both parties express consent through “clear and unambiguous words or actions.”
Absent that, it would fit the U’s definition of sexual assault.
So far, the plan has prompted little dissent at the U.
But nationally, critics have derided such policies as absurd and dangerous, particularly when it comes to protecting the rights of the accused.
“Once that accusation has been made, it’s somehow up to the accused person to prove they did have consent,” said Robert Shibley, executive director of the Foundation for Individual Rights in Education (FIRE), a civil liberties group in Philadelphia.
“What that means is that they’re guilty until proven innocent.”"

Liberals, fake but true-----Top American Indian Scholar Outed As Fake Indian

Top American Indian Scholar Outed As Fake Indian | The Daily Caller: "
Just a few weeks after Rachel Dolezal transfixed the nation with her bogus claims to black heritage, yet another professor stands accused of falsely claiming a different racial identity to advance her career.
Andrea Smith, a professor of media and cultural studies at the University of California at Riverside, has started to draw attention in the wake of the Dolezal incident from those who say she has for years falsely claimed to have Cherokee blood.
The case is arguably much more significant, though, because while Dolezal was a relatively undistinguished academic at Eastern Washington University, Smith is recognized as a significant scholar in her field.
She routinely appears as a featured scholar at major events and has written books that were well-received by her colleagues (though others may question the broader worth of works like Conquest: Sexual Violence And American Indian Genocide).
Her career has largely been defined by her supposed American Indian identity.
Besides her academic work, she also helped create the organization INCITE!, which describes itself as a collection of “radical feminists of color.”
She’s also been active in the Indian group Women of All Red Nations (WARN).
But according to many, Smith’s Cherokee identity is a complete sham.
Much of the attack on Smith is coming from an anonymous, but well-sourced, Tumblr blog, Andrea Smith Is Not A Cherokee. She has also been called out in The Daily Beast..."

UK Police Sacrificed ‘Sex Groomed’ Girls on Altar of Multiculturalism | TheBlaze.com:

"It’s also interesting to see that political correctness not only exonerates Islamic-inspired crimes, but has a symbiotic relationship with the supremacist elements of Sharia.

For example, some know that, while Islamic law bans any mockery of its founder, Muhammad, so too does Western censorship in the name of political correctness accommodate this Sharia statute (meanwhile, Islamic teachings—based on the precedent of Muhammad—holds it the right of a Muslim to curse, mock, and desecrate other religions).

In the case of Muslim-led sex grooming rings in Britain, just as Islamic law permits the sexual exploitation of “infidel” women, so too does Western political correctness allow it to flourish in Western lands."
