Is Hillary Clinton Inadvertently Making the Conservative Case to Millennials? | Video | TheBlaze.com:

"Uber is the free market in action, Burguiere said, and Clinton “wants to stifle that with draconian, progressive regulations.”

“Go ahead, Hill. Mess with Uber. See how that works out for you,” he concluded. “This is a gross misstep by Hillary, but it’s only one example of a powerful talking point that conservatives have simply failed to capitalize on. Conservative principles work. The free market works. Progressivism is the thing that screws all that good stuff up.”

“Just ask Detroit how the opposite has gone with progressive policies,” he added. “How’s that working out for them?”

Disaster: Today's Warrior Purge in the U.S. military

Articles: Disaster: Today's Warrior Purge in the U.S. military
“Where do we find such men?”
That memorable line comes from James Mitchner’s Korean War novel, The Bridges of Toko-Ri.
It refers to intrepid aviators lifting from a carrier, flying into untold danger.
They know they may not return.
They launch anyway.
In boldness unfathomable to many, they willingly, artfully fly into peril.
They are warriors, men of rare talent, intellect, and courage – a combination essential for victory.
Needed warriors are now being purged from the U.S. military.
If America went to war right now with China or Russia, we could lose because of these purges.  We’re losing top-level warrior-leaders to make the crucial differences in battle.
They’re being systematically drummed out as politically incorrect.
When the going gets tough, political correctness (PC) is useless.
Then the brilliant, wily fighters, the coolest heads, the most courageous warriors, are needed to lead regardless of social views or record.
Today, in large measure, our fighting forces are led by briefcase-carrying busybodies, yes-men more interested in enforcing political beliefs and social change than leading in battle.
They care more about their careers than what’s happening to the military and thus the country.
Just last week, a new downsizing of the army was announced – without a protest...

Wisconsin's Shame: 'John Doe' Investigations Halted by State Supreme Court

Wisconsin's Shame: 'John Doe' Investigations Halted by State Supreme Court | National Review Online:
Finds prosecutors raided conservatives’ homes to investigate constitutionally protected free speech.
In a ruling this morning, the Wisconsin Supreme Court rendered official what observers have long known:
Wisconsin Democrats did, in fact, launch a massive, multi-county “John Doe” investigation of the state’s conservatives, featuring extraordinarily broad subpoenas and coordinated “paramilitary” raids of private homes; the “crimes” that provided the investigation’s pretext were not crimes at all, but First Amendment-protected speech;
and the legal theory underpinning the investigation was bunk, “unsupported in either reason or law,” as the court put it.
...The court was obviously disturbed:
The breadth of the documents gathered pursuant to subpoenas and seized pursuant to search warrants is amazing.
Millions of documents, both in digital and paper copy, were subpoenaed and/or seized.
Deputies seized business papers, computer equipment, phones, and other devices, while their targets were restrained under police supervision and denied the ability to contact their attorneys.
The special prosecutor obtained virtually every document possessed by the Unnamed Movants relating to every aspect of their lives, both personal and professional, over a five-year span (from 2009 to 2013).
Such documents were subpoenaed and/or seized without regard to content or relevance to the alleged violations of Ch. 11.
As part of this dragnet, the special prosecutor also had seized wholly irrelevant information, such as retirement income statements, personal financial account information, personal letters, and family photos.
The raid victims have suffered severe, long-term consequences as a result of these raids.
Almost to a person, they say they no longer feel secure in their own homes.
They report watching what they say, terrified that overt political involvement could lead their homes to be invaded again.
One victim said, “I tried to create a home where the kids always feel safe.
Now they know they’re not.
They know men with guns can come in their house, and there’s nothing we can do.”
Another victim — whose son was home alone when police arrived, guns drawn — is haunted by this chilling thought: “He could have been in the shower.
They could have broken the door down.
He could have been shot.
Over politics...”

Transcript and video via NewsBusters:
On Thursday’s The Lead, CNN analyst Tom Fuentes was unwilling to conclude that the perpetrator of a mass shooting against servicemen in Chattanooga, Tennessee was Muslim.
John Berman asked the former FBI assistant director, “Now that we have the name [Muhammad Youssef Abdulazeez], the key questions are what?”
Fuentes replied, “I know…what the name sounds like, but we don’t know that it’s a Muslim name. We know it’s an Arabic name.
We don’t know what this individual was believing in, and that’s what they’re going to be trying to determine.

Seattle mayor offers plan to help followers of Sharia law buy houses

Seattle mayor offers plan to help followers of Sharia law buy houses - Puget Sound Business Journal
For some Muslims, it can be hard to buy a house, and Mayor Ed Murray plans to do something about it.
On Monday, Murray's housing committee released its recommendations for ways the city can increase housing in the city.
Most ideas were what you'd expect, including increasing the city's housing levy and implementing new rules and regulations to foster development of market-rate and lower-income housing.
One suggestion would help followers of Sharia law buy houses.
That's virtually impossible now because Sharia law prohibits payment of interest on loans.
The 28-member committee recommended the city convene lenders and community leaders to explore options for increasing access to Sharia-compliant loan products.
...It's unclear how many Muslims in Seattle would benefit from Murray's plan.
The Washington state chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) estimates more than 30,000 Muslims live in the greater Seattle area, and Chapter Executive Director Arsalan Bukhari on Tuesday said it's "fairly common" for some not to seek loans.

Tennessee Woman Arrested For Printing Money: "All These Other Bitches Get To Print Money So I Can Too"

Tennessee Woman Arrested For Printing Money: "All These Other Bitches Get To Print Money So I Can Too" | Zero Hedge:
In what is either the best example why one should never believe anything they read on the internet, or just blatant frontrunning of the last QE by a few years, earlier this week a woman from Kingsport, Tennessee was arrested for counterfeiting money.
... a gas station clerk who said that just prior to the officer's arrival, a white female had handed him a $5 bill, which he suspected to be counterfeit.
Since the bill had been printed on regular computer paper and each side had been glued together (but was falling apart), the officer immediately recognized the bill as a fake.
The officer spoke with the female, identified as Pamela Downs, 45. After initially responding that she had gotten the fake bill from a gas station, Downs was asked by the officer if her purse could be searched, to which she agreed. Inside her purse, the officer found a $100 which was also counterfeit, according to the report. The bill was printed in black and white and the backside of the bill was upside down.
A couple of receipts from Walmart were also found inside the purse, showing Downs had purchased copy paper and a printer.
At that point she was arrested, and she gave the best money-counterfeiting "defense" we have heard in a long time:
"I don't give a ****, all these other bitches get to print money so I can too."
It was not immediately clear which "bitches" she was referring to.
...And back to the rationalization: "She then told officers she read online that President Obama had made a new law that permitted her to print her own money because she is on a fixed income, the report stated."
She was charged with criminal simulation and counterfeiting.

Glory Days

By Tammy Derouin

I was part of several conversations this past week which allowed me to reminisce.  I took several trips back to a time in my life which I refer to as my glory days.  It was a time when life was good.  Politically speaking, Reagan was in office.  Need I say more?

My glory days were the late 1980’s.  I was an adult but I wasn’t over burdened with life’s responsibilities. Several friends from high school were still part of my life.  Coca~Cola was sold in 16.9 oz. glass bottles.  The entertainment world produced many television shows and movies that were worth watching.  I enjoyed the music and witnessed the birth of something called MTV.  The VJ didn’t replace the DJ.

The names of  television shows and movies, as well as songs, performers, actors, events and popular activities were tossed about to see if others had similar reactions.  The excitement grew as someone would recall a personal flashback.  An entertaining story would follow.   Springsteen was right, “Glory days, well they’ll pass you by.”  It’s important to realize what you’ve got before it’s gone.

I’m not saying that life was perfect, because it wasn’t.  I think we all have a time in our life that we like to revisit. It only takes an image, a song or a location to take me back.  I knew I was enjoying life but I had no idea how important those days would eventually come to mean......

Image of the Day: How our allies in the Middle East are viewing the Iran deal - Liberty Unyielding:
"It hasn’t taken long for our once-staunchest ally in the Middle East, Israel, to speak out on the Obama administration’s nuclear deal with Iran. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was interviewed today by NBC News anchor Lester Holt, during which he shared this assessment:
We think this is not only a threat to us.
We think this is a threat to you as well.
Iran has killed more Americans than anyone other than al Qaeda.
al-watan-cartoon1-620x439They’re going to get hundreds of billions of dollars to fuel their terror and military machine.
Note that Israel is not our only ally in the region to weigh in pessimistically.
Saudi newspaper Al-Watan published a cartoon Wednesday suggesting Iran will use sanctions relief from the nuclear deal to pump money into terrorism.
The cartoon depicts Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei turning the valve on a pipe labeled “nuclear agreement.”
Money, marked with the U.S. dollar sign, funnels into the mouth of a dark-clad figure labeled “terrorism.”

National Group Gives Michigan a ‘D’ for Civil Forfeiture Laws

National Group Gives Michigan a ‘D’ for Civil Forfeiture Laws [Michigan Capitol Confidential]: "The national grassroots group FreedomWorks, which has 6.9 million members and supports limited government, gives Michigan a “D” in a new report about civil asset forfeiture.
The report card, “Civil Asset Forfeiture: Grading the States,” bases their ratings on the standard of proof the government must meet to forfeit property, who has the burden of proof (the state or the individual), and what percentage of forfeiture funds go to law enforcement.
In explaining the grade for Michigan, the report says, “The standard of proof is too low; the government may forfeit property by showing a preponderance of the evidence..."

The US Has Agreed To Protect Iran’s Nukes From Threats
Of course, all of this is probably moot anyway. Since even Israel will be highly reluctant to attack Iran’s nuclear industry now that the US has put Iran under its protection for the next 10 to 15 years. But still, it’s pretty shocking to see a US promise to protect Iran’s nuclear program spelled out in black and white.

U.S. Will Teach Iran to Thwart Nuke Threats

By Adam Kredo | July 14, 2015
The United States and other world powers will help to teach Iran how to thwart and detect threats to its nuclear program, according to the parameters of a deal reached Tuesday to rein in Iran’s contested nuclear program.
Including protecting it from attacks from Israel, of course.
Under the terms of a deal that provides Iran billions of dollars in sanctions relief, Iran and global powers will cooperate to help teach Iran how to manage its nuclear infrastructure, which will largely remain in tact under the deal…
In what is being viewed as a new development, European countries and potentially the United States agreed to “cooperate with Iran on the implementation of nuclear security guidelines and best practices,” according to a copy of the agreement furnished by both the Russians and Iranians.
It’s also in the English version of the deal. (See below.)
This will include “training courses and workshops to strengthen Iran’s ability to prevent, protect and respond to nuclear security threats to nuclear facilities and systems as well as to enable effective and sustainable nuclear security and physical protection systems,” according to the text.
Additional “training and workshops” would work to “strengthen Iran’s ability to protect against, and respond to nuclear security threats, including sabotage, as well as to enable effective and sustainable nuclear security and physical protection systems,” the text states.
The language was viewed as disturbing by analysts and experts who said such cooperation could help protect Iran against efforts by the Israelis or other countries to sabotage the Islamic Republic’s nuclear program in the future.
In fact, ‘sabotage’ is probably the only thing that has kept the Iranians from getting a nuclear bomb by now.
“The United States and its partners have just become the international protectors of the Iranian nuclear program. Instead of rolling back the Iranian nuclear program, we’re now legally obligated to help the Iranians build it up and protect it,” said one Western source present in Vienna and who is apprised of the details of the deal…
