Trump insisted on including Jews and blacks at Palm Beach golf course in 1990s

Trump insisted on including Jews and blacks at Palm Beach golf course in 1990s - NetRight Daily
“When Donald opened his club in Palm Beach called Mar-a-Lago, he insisted on accepting Jews and blacks even though other clubs in Palm Beach to this day discriminate against blacks and Jews.
The old guard in Palm Beach was outraged that Donald would accept blacks and Jews so that’s the real Donald Trump that I know.”
...So Trump shot back with maximum effect.
As reported by the Washington Post’s Mary Jordan and Rosalind Helderman on Nov. 14, 2015: “Trump undercut his adversaries with a searing attack, claiming that local officials seemed to accept the established private clubs in town that had excluded Jews and blacks while imposing tough rules on his inclusive one.”
The Washington Post report continues, “Trump’s lawyer sent every member of the town council copies of two classic movies about discrimination: ‘A Gentleman’s Agreement,’ about a journalist who pretends to be Jewish to expose anti-Semitism, and ‘Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner’ about a white couple’s reaction to their daughter bringing home a black fiancĂ©.”
Sometimes, in judging the character of an individual, it pays to see what people actually do when nobody’s really paying attention.
When it came to segregation in the South at private, all-white country clubs, it might have been in Trump’s business interests to simply look the other way.
Instead, Trump did the right thing and insisted on desegregation at his golf resort.
And he won.
Soon thereafter, the local restrictions were lifted and, today, the golf course is open and remains inclusive..."

Cannabis Church founder sues former IMPD chief Hite for defamation
The founder of the First Church of Cannabis in Indianapolis is suing former IMPD chief Rick Hite for defamation after Hite compared him to infamous cult leader Jim Jones at a news conference last June.
Bill Levin, head of the controversial church, charges in the lawsuit that Hite's comment was "extreme and outrageous conduct" that harmed Levin's reputation and caused emotional distress.
The lawsuit quotes Hite as saying, "As Jim Jones once did within our state, he led a group of people into a place of no return.
We don't want that to happen again in this state."
Jones started the Peoples Temple in Indianapolis and eventually relocated to California and then Guyana, where more than 900 of the cult leader's followers died by murder or suicide in 1978..."

Sheriff Clarke: Obama’s ‘Reign of Terror’ Has Divided The American People:

“It’s been a very destructive period of time for the country as a whole and I’ll be glad when we can finally turn the page on the Obama reign of terror, as I call it, and we can go back to start healing some of this divide between the classes, between the races, between the sexes and some of these other demographics,” Clarke told CNSNews.com on Thursday at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) at National Harbor, Maryland."

Psychologists and massage therapists are reporting ‘Trump anxiety’ among clients

Psychologists and massage therapists are reporting ‘Trump anxiety’ among clients - The Washington Post:
To the catalogue of anxieties her patients explore during therapy — marriage, children, and careers — psychologist Alison Howard is now listening to a new source of stress: the political rise of Donald Trump.
...“He has stirred people up,” Howard said.
“We’ve been told our whole lives not to say bad things about people, to not be bullies, to not ostracize people based on their skin color.
We have these social mores and he breaks all of them and he’s successful.
And people are wondering how he gets away with it.”
Hand-wringing over Trump’s rapid climb, once confined to Washington’s political establishment, is now palpable among everyday Americans who are growing ever more anxious over the prospect of the billionaire reaching the White House.
For some, Trump’s diatribes against undocumented immigrants, Mexicans and Muslims evoke unpleasant flashbacks of dictators.
For others, his raw-toned insults conjure memories of high school bullies.
Type “Trump” and phrases such as “scaring me” or “freaking me out” into Twitter’s search engine, and a litany of tweets unfurl, including one posted two weeks ago by Emma Taylor as she lay in bed in Los Angeles:
“I literally can’t sleep because I just thought about how Trump may actually win the Presidency and now I’m having a panic attack.”
“It’s like a hurricane is coming at us, and I don’t have any way of knowing which way to go or how to combat it,” Taylor, 27, a Democrat, said in a phone interview.
“He’s extremely reactionary and that’s what scares me the most. I feel totally powerless and it’s horrible.”
Democrats aren’t alone in their Trump anxiety.
Whitney Royston, 30, a Republican who works as an event coordinator in Littleton, Colo., said the prospect of a Trump presidency scares her because “he’s a side show. He doesn’t have anything to say. All he does is tell other people to shut up. If he were to become president, I fear that our world would come tumbling down.”...

Team Hillary Scoffed At FBI Investigation

Team Hillary Scoffed At FBI Investigation | The Daily Caller:
Now that Hillary Clinton’s email server technician is cooperating with the FBI in its investigation into the mishandling of classified information, it’s worth taking a look back at all the times that the candidate and her surrogates have downplayed the probe or outright laughed at it.
The FBI seized control of Clinton’s server in August, just after the intelligence community’s inspector general flagged “Top Secret” emails that traversed the device.
Clinton housed the server at her New York residence during her State Department tenure.
She hired Bryan Pagliano, a staffer on her 2008 presidential campaign, to manage the system.
She even got him at a job at the State Department as an information technology specialist.
Sometime late last year Pagliano began cooperating with FBI investigators in exchange for immunity.
That suggests the possibility that criminal charges are on the table for Clinton or some of her State Department aides who sent her classified information that landed on the server.
But Clinton and her supporters have downplayed the FBI’s investigation — which the candidate has called a “security review.”
Clinton herself has, at times, even attempted to laugh off questions about her email habits and the ongoing inquiry.

‘It Was Upsetting’: Glenn Beck, Mark Levin Slam ‘Despicable’ Fox News Debate | TheBlaze.com:

"Levin blamed the billionaire businessman and Fox News for the nature of the debate, arguing that Trump has “brought down the level of this discussion.”

“Somebody needs to cool it, and you would think the moderators might play that role but the moderators don’t play that role,” Levin argued. “They encourage it.”

“Yeah, because they like the ratings,” Beck said in agreement. “It’s a great showing.”

The Wildest Basketball Game In The History Of Basketball Went Down Last Night At A Minnesota High School - Barstool Sports:
Southern Minn – It was the greatest game ever played.
At least Bluejays’ fans might believe that.
With all due respect to the 1958 NFL Championship Game, Waseca and Marshall’s Section 2AAA title game Thursday, earned the moniker.
Not one, not two, but three buzzer beaters.

Clutch free throws and missed free throws.
The likeliest of heroes and perhaps the unlikeliest.
There are only so many ways to describe the bananas-type of game it was.
And somehow, through the highest of highs, and lowest of lows, Waseca came out on top 103-100 because of a running, leaning 3-pointer from Cole Streich.
I don’t care what college or pro game you were watching last night.
Nothing topped Waseca High School and Marshall High School squaring off for the Minnesota Section 2AAA boys basketball championship and a trip to the state playoffs on the line.
The most bonkers series of plays and crazy ass shots..."

And we think the Flint water crisis is bad-----Mosul dam engineers warn it could fail at any time, killing 1 million people

Mosul dam engineers warn it could fail at any time, killing 1 million people:
A tragedy is just waiting to happen in one of the largest cities in the Middle East, engineers warn.
The Iraqis who built the dam structure for the Mosul dam warn that the structure is “increasingly precarious” and threatens to kill 1 million people.
They also said the government’s answer has been ridiculous.
The Mosul Dam is the largest dam in Iraq, providing electricity for the 1.7 million residents of Mosul. However, it has a long record of instability.
Built in an unstable geological setting, the earthen embankment dam is located on top of gypsum, a soft mineral which dissolves in contact with water – a recipe for disaster.
Leaks began right after the dam was built in 1986, with 24 machines continuously pumping grout into the dam base.
More than than 50,000 tonnes of material have been injected, but did little to stabilize the structure.
A September 2006 report by the United States Army Corps of Engineers noted, “In terms of internal erosion potential of the foundation, Mosul Dam is the most dangerous dam in the world.”
Now, the engineers responsible for building the structure in the first place warn that the situation is reaching critical levels, after winter snows melted and more water flowed into the reservoir, raising pressure.
After the city was more or less under the control of the Islamic State, the injection machinery wasn’t operated anymore and the maintenance crew was dissolved.
The government was slow in reacting, and while negotiations with an Italian construction firm for carrying out urgent repairs is being discussed, no agreement has been reached.
Nasrat Adamo, the dam’s former chief engineer who spent most of his professional career patching the fundamental flaws of the dam said that the situation has been disastrous after ISIS..."

Famous Investor Jim Rogers Puts Odds of U.S. Recession at 100 Percent — Here’s His Warning | TheBlaze.com:

"Rogers didn’t give many specifics, but said that the sluggish economies of China, Japan and countries in Europe will eventually contribute to additional congestion state-side. But if you look in the correct places, Rogers said there are already several signs that a recession may be in the near future for the U.S. economy.

“If you look at the … payroll tax figures [in the U.S.], you see they’re already flat,” he said. “Don’t pay attention to the government numbers, pay attention to the real numbers.”

Rogers made a similar claim in February, telling CNN that a global recession is “just around the corner.”

Popular Drugs Linked To Dementia Even At Low Dosage

Popular Drugs Linked To Dementia Even At Low Dosage:
"A new study out of the University of Washington provides the strong evidence that certain popular drugs may increase the risk for dementia in older adults.
The drugs share some common mechanisms within key areas of the brain, but are used primarily as ingredients in over-the-counter sleep, cough and cold, and allergy medicines as well as in the treatment of an overactive bladder and depression.
Drugs and Dementia
The most commonly used drug linked to dementia was diphenhydramine, which is used in many popular products such as Benadryl, Nytol Sominex, Theraflu, Triaminic Allergy, plus many others.
Also implicated where drugs containing chlorpheniramine (Aller-Chlor); oxybutynin (Ditropan) and tolterodine (Detrol) for overactive bladder; and the tricyclic antidepressants, such as doxepin or amitriptyline..."

Bill de Blasio Says Face-Slashing Epidemic Probably a Result of NYPD Gun Seizures

Bill de Blasio Says Face-Slashing Epidemic Probably a Result of NYPD Gun Seizures
Mayor Bill de Blasio tried to put a positive spin on the 20-plus knife and razor attacks that have wracked New York City since last November—suggesting that people are turning to cutting weapons because the NYPD has been so successful confiscating their guns.
Speaking at an unrelated event in Manhattan, the liberal mayor praised his police force for bringing down the overall violent crime rate and netting numerous illegal firearms, and argued the spike in slashings might be an unintended consequence of those efforts.
A Bronx Dunkin’ Donuts owner became the latest New Yorker to take a blade to the face yesterday, after a homeless man she had ejected from her business earlier returned seeking revenge.
“Increasingly, they are getting at the supply of guns,” Mr. de Blasio said, noting shootings are down, and attributing the success to the Gun Violence Suppression Unit.
“I’m not a criminologist, but I can safely say that guns are being taking off the street in an unprecedented way.
Some people, unfortunately, are turning to a different weapon...”

Chess champ Gary Kasparov: “I’m enjoying the irony of American Sanders supporters lecturing me, a former Soviet citizen, on the glories of Socialism” – AgainstCronyCapitalism.org:
Indeed. Socialism is a siren song.
Come to me.
Socialism is freedom.
 Socialism is justice.
Socialism is prosperity.
And then, over and over the intoxicated socialist finds himself or herself prostrate on the rocks of reality. Economic winds lashing their eyes.
Waves of political dysfunction washing over them.
The nomenklatura picking at their liver.
But the song was so beautiful!
To use another analogy, in the movie Dr. Zhivago* there is a scene where the young doctor looks through the lens of his microscope at a squirming bacteria and remarks to his mentor on how beautiful the bacteria is.
“Beautiful things can do terrible things to people.”
The older doctor’s warning applied both to Zhivago’s love interest and to the rising socialist sentiment in Moscow.
...The last question Kasparov poses is a vital one.
Who will be America’s America if we continue to let big government take over our lives and the economy.
Who will create?
Who will innovate?
Socialism does not encourage creativity and innovation."
