Black Professor Tells White Men to Quit Their Jobs: 'Probably Taking Up Room That Should Go to Someone Else':

"If you're a successful “white cis man,” University of Hawaii assistant mathematics professor Piper Harron has a message for you — quit your job to make room for other, apparently more deserving, people.

The “liberated mathematician,” as Harron calls herself on her web page, wrote in a recent blog post for the American Mathematical Society that white males should simply “get out the way”:

Not to alarm you, but I probably want you to quit your job, or at least take a demotion. Statistically speaking, you are probably taking up room that should go to someone else.

If you are a white cis man (meaning you identify as male and you were assigned male at birth) you almost certainly should resign from your position of power.

That’s right, Harron wants you to quit your job or at least demote yourself. If you find the prospect of either option “too difficult,” she has a few suggestions:

Well, as a first step, at least get off your hiring committee, your curriculum committee, and make sure you’re replaced by a woman of color or trans person. Don’t have any in your department? HOW SHOCKING.

And she doesn't stop with white men. White women are a problem as well.

Noting that “having white cis women run the world is no kind of solution,” she included the following chart in her post — showing that 53% of white women voted from President Trump in last year's election, as confirmed by the New York Times.

Amid racial tensions, public university spent $23,400 to create report on renaming buildings - The College Fix:
"The University of Oregon spent $23,400 to create a report used to determine whether the public university should rename two campus buildings amid racial tensions, public records recently obtained by The College Fix show.
The university paid three historians a total of $22,500 — $7,500 each — to compile the 34-page report, the records show; another $897.29 went to reimburse one of the historians for travel expenses.
As a result of the report, President Michael Schill last fall stripped a campus building of one name, Frederick Dunn, while keeping another building named after Matthew Deady.
The process to rename Dunn Hall is still underway and four name finalists were announced this month. Deady Hall remains.
The 2016 report was commissioned after the UO Black Student Task Force demanded administrators rename the two buildings. 
Deady was a founding father of the University of Oregon and the state, as well as a federal judge. Dunn was a professor and one-time Ku Klux Klan leader.
One of 13 demands from the task force, its members declared the university would “change the names of all of the KKK-related buildings on campus” and “Deady Hall will be the first building to be renamed.”..."

When law abiding citizens are demonized for clinging to their gun rights, red flags should be flying everywhere. Why would one segment of society want to vilify the rights of individuals who want to protect themselves, their family, property and country? Well, right there is the answer. It's the classic battle of good versus evil.

Informed citizens understand that they have God given rights to protect themselves. Power hungry individuals understand that if the citizens are disarmed, it is much easier to swoop in and gain control with little to no resistance. This is exactly the reason we, who understand the Second Amendment, cling to our rights. We understand that government control is the motive behind disarming the people. We also understand the horrific reality which takes place when only criminals and the government have weapons. They become one in the same. History has recorded the seemingly endless atrocities of what happens when the people are disarmed.

The same individuals who are so eager to remove guns from the population are also part of the nefarious movement to bury the truth and hide any information which may hurt the party agenda. Thomas Jefferson said,“Whenever the people are well-informed, they can be trusted with their own government.” An informed, educated population is key to remaining a free and independent nation. Those who want ultimate control, fear those who know their rights. Why have schools stopped teaching cursive and history? It's all about control.......

We study the impact of the minimum wage on firm exit in the restaurant industry, exploiting recent changes in the minimum wage at the city level.
The evidence suggests that higher minimum wages increase overall exit rates for restaurants. 
However, lower quality restaurants, which are already closer to the margin of exit, are disproportionately impacted by increases to the minimum wage.
Our point estimates suggest that a one dollar increase in the minimum wage leads to a 14 percent increase in the likelihood of exit for a 3.5-star restaurant (which is the median rating), but has no discernible impact for a 5-star restaurant (on a 1 to 5 star scale)..."
