Trump DOJ ends Holder-era 'Operation Choke Point' | Fox News:
"The Trump Justice Department is ending an Obama-era program that had attempted to cut off credit to shady businesses but came under fire from Republicans for unfairly targeting gun dealers and other legitimate operations.
Just days after top House Republicans had pressed Attorney General Jeff Sessions to shutter Operation Choke Point, the department confirmed in a response letter that the program is dead."

Brown University gets grant to address 'racial justice and equality' - The College Fix
"Brown University has announced it will be the recipient of a $30,000 grant from the Association of American Colleges and Universities to address “racial justice and equality.”
The Ivy is one of ten “Truth, Racial Healing and Transformation campus centers” according to The Brown Daily Herald, and as such its duty will be “addressing the historic and contemporary effects of racism and leading transformative change.”
"Brown University has announced it will be the recipient of a $30,000 grant from the Association of American Colleges and Universities to address “racial justice and equality.”
Appropriately enough.
Two of the initiatives the university is planning are discussion groups for female Muslim students and another for black students.
The latter will focus on — wait for it! — “issues of identity, race, gender, colorism, classism, [and] dynamics within communities of color.”
“Colorism.”
That’s a new one.
...To be considered, the University had to submit proposals intended to “engage and empower campus and community stakeholders to uproot the conscious and unconscious biases and misbeliefs that have exacerbated racial violence and tension in American society,” according to a press release issued by the AAC&U.
Other “Truth, Racial Healing and Transformation” campuses include Duke, Rutgers University-Newark, Spelman College, and … The Citadel??
Half-"truth" liars!-----PBS, NPR Bury Their Own Poll Results on BLM, Antifa, and Confederate Statues
PBS, NPR Bury Their Own Poll Results on BLM, Antifa, and Confederate Statues
"Taxpayer-funded PBS and NPR are now in the polling business with Marist College, and like the other networks, their polls are often used to support putting heat on Republicans.
On Wednesday, they announced they had found a majority of Americans were disappointed with the president’s responsive to the violence in Charlottesville.
PBS then ignored their own finding that 62 percent favored leaving Confederate statues in place, while only 27 percent want them removed.
NPR reported it once, and then insisted that had nothing to do with Charlottesville.

Buried in the weeds: They also asked if Americans approve or disapprove of Black Lives Matter: 50 percent disapproved, and only 33 percent approved.
They even asked about approval of Antifa, but few had heard of them yet: Five percent approved, 24 percent disapproved, 18 percent said they had no opinion either way, and 53 percent were unsure.
But if the results don't fit....you must omit?...

New York Times Applauds Far-Left Violence | Power Line
New York Times Applauds Far-Left Violence | Power Line:
"New York Times reporters Thomas Fuller, Alan Feuer and Serge Kovaleski are responsible for this admiring profile of the far-left Brownshirts called antifa: “‘Antifa’ members are ready to literally fight right-wingers.”
Members of antifa have shown no qualms about using their fists, sticks or canisters of pepper spray to meet an array of right-wing antagonists whom they call a fascist threat to U.S. democracy.
Is antifa violent? Well, that depends on what the meaning of “violent” is:"

ICYMI: Charles Barkley Sounds Off on Monument Issue - Jennifer Van Laar
"NBA legend Charles Barkley has never shied away from giving his unvarnished opinion on the issues, whether sports-related or not.
He spoke to sports journalist Rick Karle this week about a couple of political issues, including whether confederate statues should be removed.
His response is a must-watch.

He spoke to sports journalist Rick Karle this week about a couple of political issues, including whether confederate statues should be removed.
His response is a must-watch.
...Then Karle asked him what should be done with the statues. Do we just ignore them?
I've always ignored them. Rick, I'm 54 years old. I've never thought about those statues a day in my life. I think if you ask most black people to be honest, they haven't thought a day in their life about those stupid statues. What we as black people need to do, we need to worry about getting our education. We need to stop killing each other. We need to try to find a way to have more economic opportunity and things like that. Those things are important and significant."

ObamaCare, Not Trump, Is Causing ObamaCare's Massive Rate Hikes | Stock News & Stock Market Analysis - IBD:
"Earlier this year, Aetna and Wellmark Blue Cross & Blue Shield announced that they were pulling out of Iowa's ObamaCare exchange, leaving only Medica, which was also threatening to leave. Not surprisingly, Medica has used its newfound monopoly status to push for increasingly higher rates, while trying to pin the blame President Trump for the increases.
The media, of course, are happy to buy into it that claim. Anything to bash Trump.
But Iowans shouldn't. Nor should anyone else in the country who heads to the exchanges later this year only to find — for the third year in a row — there are fewer choices and record-breaking premium hikes.
The seeds of today's double-digit premium increases and collapsing competition were planted long before Trump took the oath of office. In fact, they were embedded right there in the law President Obama signed in 2010."

ANOTHER RECORD: President Trump Cuts More US Debt for a Longer Period of Time Than Any President in History
ANOTHER RECORD: President Trump Cuts More US Debt for a Longer Period of Time Than Any President in History:
"It’s Now Official – No President in US History has Cut More from the US Federal Debt for a Longer Period of Time than President Donald J. Trump.
President Trump now can claim the longest and largest decrease of US Federal Debt in US history.
When President Trump was inaugurated on January 20, 2017 the amount of US Federal Debt owed both externally and internally was over $19 Trillion at $19,947,304,555,212.
As of August 17th the amount of US Debt had decreased by more than $100 Billion to $19,845,188,460,167.
No President in US history has ever cut the amount of US Debt by this amount and no President has resided over a debt cut like this ever.
History buffs may say that this is incorrect because President Bill Clinton and President George W. Bush oversaw US Debt cuts over a period of a few years after the Republican Congress led by House Speaker Newt Gingrich forced Clinton into signing a balanced budget.
We thought the same, but our analysis determined that this is actually not correct.
Congress did push Clinton into signing a balanced budget but the amount of US debt during this period actually increased.
This is confirmed through data maintained by the US Treasury at Treasurydirect.gov..."

Detroit demonstration against white supremacy, Christopher Columbus:
"Dozens of demonstrators converged under a raised bust of Christopher Columbus in downtown Detroit on Saturday and demanded the monument come down as they protested against white supremacy and a list of perceived affronts to black Detroiters.
...The Detroit demonstration, held on a large traffic island with the Columbus monument at Randolph and Jefferson, went off without incident. It had been publicized on Facebook and dubbed, "Reclaiming our history: A Detroit without white supremacy.”
Organizers said they were unaware of any Confederate monuments in the city, so were focusing on memorials to other historical figures tied to a white supremacy mind-set..."

Studies RULE!-----A 10-panel comic explores a subtle kind of racism many people of color experience.
A 10-panel comic explores a subtle kind of racism many people of color experience.
"If we're being honest, we all make assumptions about other people, right?
We look at their skin, their clothes, and their car, and we make guesses about them that we don't even realize we're making.
Everyone does it.
You ask a pregnant female coworker if she'll keep working after the baby is born — but you wouldn't think to ask that question of a guy who was about to become a dad.
You ask that nice girl behind the counter at the bagel shop whether she'll ever go to college so she can get a better job — only to learn that she's an underemployed Ph.D.
You ask a hipster-looking guy on the subway whether he's into artisanal pickles — but he just happens to be a bad dresser who has no idea what you're talking about.
The fact is, though, that people of color deal with other people's assumptions constantly.
Research shows that other people's expectations can have a profound effect on us.
They can determine our success or failure.
And black women deal with this nonsense more than others.
In a recent study, nearly half of the female black and Latina scientists polled reported being mistaken for janitors or administrative staff.
Let's agree to fix this.
