Fear of the Left: The Most Powerful Force in America Today | The Stream

Fear of the Left: The Most Powerful Force in America Today | The Stream
"The dominant force in America and many other Western countries today is fear of the left.
See the source imageThis is a result of the fact that the most dynamic religion of the past 100 years has been neither Christianity nor Islam.
It has been leftism.
Whoever does not recognize this does not understand the contemporary world.

What is Leftism?

Leftism — in its incarnations, such as Marxism, communism and socialism; expressed through egalitarianism, environmentalism and feminism; in its denigration of capitalism and Western civilization, especially America and Israel; in its supplanting of Christianity and Judaism; through its influence on Christianity and Judaism; in its celebration of race; and in its replacing of reason with romanticism — has almost completely taken over the news and entertainment media and institutions of education.
There is a largely (though not entirely) nonviolent reign of ideological terror in America.
In almost every area of life, people fear antagonizing the left.

A Fear That Silences

Last week, before my speech at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, a man employed by the university (I will not say in what department) walked over to me, looked around to see whether anyone was watching and whispered in my ear, “I’m a conservative.”
This happens just about everywhere I speak.
People whisper — yes, whisper — that they are conservative or they support Trump.
The last time I experienced people looking around to check whether they were seen speaking to me was with dissidents in the Soviet Union..."

Retired General Says F-22 Production Was Killed So That A New Bomber Could Live - The Drive

Retired General Says F-22 Production Was Killed So That A New Bomber Could Live - The Drive
"Retired Air Force Chief of Staff General Norton Schwartz has stated in his new memoir that F-22 production was idiotically axed after building less than half the required number so that the flying force could get then-Secretary of Defense Robert Gates to approve building a new stealth bomber.
...Behind the scenes, Schwartz's predecessor General Mike Moseley "never gave up in his principled attempts to get those 381 F-22s" the book states.
That push ended up getting Moseley fired along with his civilian counterpart, Air Force Secretary Mike Wynn.
After the culling, the brass thought that the new bomber was simply too important and that the chances of winning both the F-22 and bomber arguments with Gates, who was staunchly averse to building high-priced weapons that couldn't be used in Iraq or Afghanistan, was next to zero.
...All this is interesting for a number of reasons.
First, it slams home my position that I have stated for years that Gates is largely to blame for the F-22 production debacle, along with a whole slew of near-sighted decisions and calls—in particular, poor handicapping of near-peer adversaries technological abilities and intent.
Discounting the quick rise of China's stealth fighter programs is among the worst calls Gates made..."

Food Stamps, Disability, Welfare, Medicaid Enrollment Plunges,:

Image result for Down Arrow Clip Art Free"The Department of Agriculture, which runs the food stamp program — officially called Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program — reports that enrollment in January was 40.7 million, the lowest it's been since May 2010.
In the months since President Trump has been in office, the number of people collecting food stamps plunged by nearly 2 million.
The same is true for welfare. Enrollment in the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families program dropped 12% last year, to reach 2.3 million."

Leftist thuggery!-----Keziah Daum: Cultural-Appropriation Controversy Reveals Rot in American Soul | National Review

Keziah Daum: Cultural-Appropriation Controversy Reveals Rot in American Soul | National Review
"Keziah Daum and the insidiousness of the online cultural-appropriation police

Im going to tell you perhaps the dumbest story you’ve ever heard — a story that is stupid with a heaping helping of malice on the side.
On Sunday morning, a teenage girl named Keziah Daum posted pictures taken on her prom night to Twitter.
Daum isn’t a public figure; she’s a student at a Utah high school.
Her message simply said, “PROM,” and it had four pictures:
If you’re a normal human being, like the majority of Americans who saw their Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter feeds fill up with prom pictures last weekend, you thought that was a pretty girl in a pretty dress.
Nothing more.
But if you’re a toxic social-justice warrior, you saw something else.
You saw oppression.
You saw exploitation.
You saw bigotry.
You saw — gasp — “cultural appropriation.”
The dress, you see, had obvious Asian influences, and Daum isn’t Asian:
...It sparked so much attention and controversy that Twitter then created one of its “moments” to chronicle the controversy and chart the most salient responses.
Daum, to her immense credit, has weathered the shamestorm without backing down.
She says simply that she bought the dress because she thought it was “beautiful” and she “admired the beauty of the culture.”...

May 1: Victims of Communism Day | Ten Films to Honor the Dead | MissLiberty.com
"Perhaps as many as a hundred million people were victims of communism in the last century, deliberately rounded up, shot, starved, or simply forced to march into snowy wasteland until dead, exterminated by communist regimes.
...But these are just statistics.
Just as Schindler’s List was instrumental in getting the public to come to finally terms with the Holocaust, it is perhaps through film that death toll of communism can best be understood.
Every May 1st for the last several years, Ilya Somin has written an editorial for the Washington Post declaring the “May Day” so beloved by the Left to be renamed “Victims of Communism Day.”
I concur, and so, while socialists blissfully celebrate their worker’s paradise this May Day, indifferent to the human cost of their political philosophy, I propose that well-meaning people consider watching a film on the subject, both out of respect for those lost and to be intellectually armed against the ignorance of those still in denial.
Here are some recommendations.

Heaven on Earth: The Rise and Fall of Socialism

If you don’t know much about the origins and history of socialism, start here — you could hardly do better than this eye-opening and comprehensive documentary. It chronicles socialism’s rise and fall, and tells much of the untold story of how it all began. By the way, did you know that socialism was first tried in Indiana, long before Marx even wrote a word on the subject? You’ll learn about that, and more, in this engaging film. Full review.

Every caricature thrust upon the national press—that we are culturally elitist, professionally incestuous, socioeconomically detached and ideologically biased—is confirmed by this trainwreck of an event.
Journalists, the joke’s on us.
The WHCD is broken. Fix it or end it.

Netanyahu: ‘Secret files’ prove Iran ‘brazenly lying’ about nukes:

Image result for Wikicommonscommons images Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu"In a live broadcast Monday from Israel’s defense ministry in Tel Aviv, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu presented evidence from 10 “secret nuclear files” recently obtained by Israeli intelligence that “prove” Iran lied “big time” about its nuclear weapons program.
“The Iran nuclear deal is based on lies. It’s based on Iranian lies and Iranian deception,” he declared.
Netanyahu said Iran “continues to lie,” noting that just last week, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said, “We never wanted to produce a bomb.”
“Yes, you did. Yes, you do. And the atomic archive proves it,” Netanyahu said."
