Today's Greens Are Yesterday's Reds | RealClearPolitics

See the source imageToday's Greens Are Yesterday's Reds | RealClearPolitics
"New York Mayor Bill de Blasio made national headlines last week with his call to ban “traditional glass and steel skyscrapers” in the name of the environment.
...This remark from our self-described socialist reveals in plain language a sobering truth.
Today’s greens are yesterday’s reds.
...What should be alarming is how this new war on prosperity, or to use the mayor's disparaging spin, this attack on “monuments to wealth,” is being launched in the name of the environment..."

New "Medicare for All" Bill Would Kick 181 Million Off Private Insurance | The Heritage Foundation

New "Medicare for All" Bill Would Kick 181 Million Off Private Insurance | The Heritage Foundation:

Image result for flickr commons images Bernie SandersSen. Bernie Sanders, a self-described “socialist,” is doubling down on his efforts to give federal officials total control over Americans’ health care.
The senator has just unveiled the Medicare for All Act of 2019 with 13 leading Senate Democrats, including fellow contenders for the 2020 Democratic presidential nomination: Sens. Cory Booker of New Jersey, Kirsten Gillibrand of New York, Kamala Harris of California, and Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts.
Americans should find this bill chilling. If passed, it would essentially abolish all private health coverage in America, regardless of whether Americans like their current plans.

Nigeria and the U.S.: A Tale of Two Energy Economies | RealClearMarkets

Nigeria and the U.S.: A Tale of Two Energy Economies | RealClearMarkets
"...Nigeria simultaneously is energy-rich and energy-poor was illustrated by the ongoing tug of war between the Nigerian government and Process and Industrial Developments Limited (P&ID).
This was over a prior agreement for P&ID to build a state-of-the-art natural gas processing plant along the Nigerian coast.
In a nutshell: The government was supposed to provide the land and build the pipeline to deliver the gas to the plant.
It failed to do either.
As a result, over 282 billion cubic feet of gas were wasted (flared) in 2018 alone.
...This arrangement was win-win.
See the source image...How is it that a nation with over 37 billion barrels of proven oil reserves can find itself in a position of energy poverty?
This question confronts us yet again with age-old lessons about the importance of property rights, the rule of law, and the often-perverse incentives of government officials.
Merely contrast the Nigerian bungling of the P&ID contract with the recent evolution of the natural gas market in the U.S.
U.S. gas production in 1990 was 17.8 trillion cubic feet; in 2018 it was 30.4 trillion cubic feet, an increase of about 71 percent.
...The easy explanation for this sharp increase in US production is the fracking/horizontal drilling revolution.
That is correct as far as it goes, but it does not go far enough:
That tremendous technological advance did not take place in a vacuum.
It is the result of the US system of property rights---much of the modern increase in gas production has taken place on private land---combined with legally-enforceable contractual arrangements, investments in infrastructure that more-or-less are driven by market forces, and sharp constraints on the ability of government officials to interfere with private arrangements, except through processes constrained by the rule of law..."

'Two Days Before The Day After Tomorrow': Here Are Some Of The Worst Global Warming Predictions Pushed By...The Experts
Image result for The Day After Tomorrow'"...yet, the urban elites, the liberals, the Democrats—all of these people want us to move away from the very energy sources that have made us the most vibrant and powerful economy in the world in ten years because…we’re all going to die if we don’t.
...This is where some over-educated and condescending liberal snob decided to lecture the rest of us that we must sacrifice hundreds of billion, if not trillions, of dollars to reduce global temperatures or we’ll all perish. Time is running out, they said.
Right now, the arbitrary timeline is 21 years.
...Buildings that cannot be retrofitted for energy efficiency requirements have to be destroyed, farting cows must die, and the internal combustible engine has to go.
It’s a return to caveman times, folks—because the same clowns who said that global cooling will doom us all in the 1970s said so.
...Ever since this blasted Earth Day was created in 1970, the green warriors have predicted catastrophe. And they were all totally and utterly wrong. Here are some of their biggest whoppers, courtesy of the American Enterprise Institute who doled out 18 of their biggest flops since 1970. You can about the rest in the link. • Harvard biologist George Wald estimated that “civilization will end within 15 or 30 years unless immediate action is taken against problems facing mankind.”
  • “Population will inevitably and completely outstrip whatever small increases in food supplies we make,” Paul Ehrlich confidently declared in the April 1970 issue of Mademoiselle.“The death rate will increase until at least 100-200 million people per year will be starving to death during the next ten years.”
  • Most of the people who are going to die in the greatest cataclysm in the history of man have already been born,” wrote Paul Ehrlich in a 1969 essay titled “Eco-Catastrophe! “By…[1975] some experts feel that food shortages will have escalated the present level of world hunger and starvation into famines of unbelievable proportions. Other experts, more optimistic, think the ultimate food-population collision will not occur until the decade of the 1980s.”
  • It is already too late to avoid mass starvation,” declared Denis Hayes, the chief organizer for Earth Day, in the Spring 1970 issue of The Living Wilderness..."

"In higher education, disgraceful scandals and major embarrassments once arrived one by one.
Now, they appear in clusters, like epidemics we should have been expecting.
...What follows is a selective review of the intellectual measles epidemic.
Let’s look at what’s happening at Williams, Middlebury, Yale, Trinity, Columbia, Concordia, Villanova, and Sarah Lawrence.

A new National Association of Scholars report on the resurgence of racial segregation in American higher education embargoed until April 29, does not apply to my mentioning a new student proposal endorsed by the student newspaper at Williams College. As The College Fix reports, a group of activists at the college, the Coalition Against Racism Now, is demanding that the college create race-based “affinity housing.”...

Ex-CIA agent: Indictments coming for officials who tried 'coup' against Trump - WND

Ex-CIA agent: Indictments coming for officials who tried 'coup' against Trump - WND:

Image result for flickr commons images John BrennenA former CIA officer is warning that Obama administration officials who attempted a “coup” against President Trump, through the Russia investigation will soon face criminal charges.
And he fears the left’s response will include violence.
CIA whistleblower Kevin Shipp was interviewed by Greg Hunter on his USAWatchdog site.
Shipp addressed the claims made in an opposition research document, the Steele “dossier,” that was funded by the Hillary Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee during the 2016 president race.
It made wild and claims about President Trump, and was used as evidence by the Obama administration to spy on the Trump campaign.
American taxpayers spent some $35 million on the investigation by special counsel Robert Mueller, who concluded there was no collusion by the Trump campaign.
Now, FBI Director William Barr has promised to review the origins of the probe. He told Congress he believes the Obama administration spied on the Trump campaign.

VICTOR DAVIS HANSON ---Why Immigrants Travel West | National Review

Why Immigrants Travel West | National Review:
  • Immigrants see what is right about the West. That’s why they come. And then too many critique the very system they left their homelands to join.
"...Newcomers to the West, emulating the hipster progressive Left, sometimes lodge almost immediate complaints about Western civilization, usually the boilerplate that it is racist, biased, and sexist.
But one wonders, given the tribal nature of man, compared with what?
Is the West religiously intolerant compared with most of the Muslim world?
See the source imageIf so, try building huge Christian cathedrals in Saudi Arabia as counterparts to the current new monumental mosques in Cologne and Rome.
Is the contemporary West racist compared with China?
Japan?
Sexist or homophobic in comparison to Iran?
Prejudicial against the poor in a way not seen in Brazil or Mexico?
The irony of the Left’s scripted charges of racism is that the West since Greek and Roman times was usually the least racist of cultures, at least in the sense that there were always voices, often powerful, objecting to instinctual majority tribalism.
Imperial Rome’s cities on the shores throughout the Mediterranean were polyglot and multiracial, united not by claims of Italian ancestry, but by Roman law, science, custom, and tradition.
...In other words, if the professed progressive utopian agendas of many current critics of the West had been realized in the past, then AOC’s or Tlaib’s parents would probably never have wished to head westward in the first place.
Give Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez her wish to recalibrate America, and no Puerto Rican would ever wish to immigrate to the American mainland again.
And if America emulated the social, political, and economic norms south of the border, illegal immigration would end quickly.
After all, why flee from what you find intolerable to what you soon find intolerable?"

Pre-teen "Drag Kids" highlight just how fast our culture has crumbled | The Bridgehead

Pre-teen "Drag Kids" highlight just how fast our culture has crumbled | The Bridgehead
"One of the signs that the LGBT movement has successfully moved the Overton Window to an almost unimaginable extent is the phenomenon of “Drag Kids,” which features children in heavily sexualized performances in heavily sexualized settings, dressed in drag, dancing provocatively.
Some performances have included adult men throwing dollar bills at a 11-year-old boy as he danced—and this young boy first appeared in a drag music video when he was six-years-old.
Despite limited backlash, the growing trend of taking children to Pride and the non-stop smut provided by Netflix, TV, and Hollywood seem to have inured much of the adult population to behavior that would otherwise have been considered unacceptable without questions.
Here, for example, is how the Canadian Press covered the “theatrical world of pre-teen drag queens”:
TORONTO — The dance music is thumping, the audience is giddy and 10-year-old drag artist Queen Lactatia is sashaying up and down a makeshift catwalk in a shimmering metallic dress. The enthusiastic crowd hoots in approval as the diminutive style phenom weaves between tables at the all-ages brunch event, where the Montreal grade-schooler is followed by three more big-haired pre-teen performers, each in varying degrees of glitter, eyelash extensions and rainbow-hued attire..."

Global Warming Going the way of Russia Collusion

Global Warming Going the way of Russia Collusion:

Instead they would be better served by applying the scientific method of observing, formulating a hypothesis, testing it against observations, modifying and refining the hypothesis, until after extensive testing it accurately predicts future events.

The War Against White People - Minding The Campus

The War Against White People - Minding The Campus
"Anti-white hate is now mainstream American culture.
Not just by racial extremists such as Black Lives Matter, for whom statements such as “all lives matter” or “blue lives matter” are racist.
Our highest leaders sing the same song.
Presidential candidate Barack Obama said of working class, white voters in 2008, “They get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren’t like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations.”
Not to be outdone by Obama, Hillary Clinton castigated half of Donald Trump supporters as “a basket of deplorables” who were “racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamophobic—you name it.”
Clinton was not talking about Trump’s black, Asian, and Hispanic supporters; she was talking about millions of his white supporters and her fellow citizens.
And what could be more mainstream than the New York Times?
In 2018 it appointed Sarah Jeong to its editorial board...expressed publicly many interesting opinions about white people.
Here are only a few:

  • “Dumbass f***ing white people marking up the internet with their opinions like dogs pissing on fire hydrants.”
  • It’s “kind of sick how much joy I get out of being cruel to old white men.”
  • I’m “just imagining being white and waking up every morning with a terrible existential dread about how I have no culture.”
  • “Are white people genetically predisposed to burn faster in the sun, thus logically only being fit to live underground like groveling bilious goblins?”
  •  “Have you ever tried to figure out all the things that white people are allowed to do that aren’t cultural appropriation? There’s literally nothing.”
  • “The world could get by just fine with zero white people.”

A white Rutgers professor, James Livingston, shared on Facebook his feelings about whites:
"OK, officially, I now hate white people. I am white people, for God’s sake, but can we keep them — us — us out of my neighborhood? I just went to Harlem Shake on 124 and Lenox for a Classic burger to go, that would be my dinner, and the place is overrun by little Caucasian assholes who know their parents will approve of anything they do. Slide around the floor, you little shithead, sing loudly, you unlikely moron. Do what you want, nobody here is gonna restrict your right to be white. I hereby resign from my race. Fuck these people."...

US economy grew at strong 3.2% rate in first quarter | Fox17

US economy grew at strong 3.2% rate in first quarter | Fox17:

Image result for flickr commons images president trumpThe U.S. economy grew at a solid 3.2% annual rate in the first three months of the year, a far better outcome than expected, overcoming a host of headwinds including global weakness, rising trade tensions and a partial government shutdown.
The advance in the gross domestic product, the broadest measure of economic health, marks an acceleration from a 2.2% gain in the previous October-December period, the Commerce Department reported Friday. However, about half the gain reflected two factors not expected to last — a big jump in stockpiling by businesses and a sharp contraction in the trade deficit.
