Asia Times | How fragile is Iran’s regime? | Article
"Smartphone videos of anti-regime protests in Tehran circulated in global news media this weekend, after the Iranian government admitted it shot down a Ukrainian civilian airliner.
See the source imageThe latest demonstrations followed a national wave of protests last November in which up to 1,500 demonstrators were killed.
Hard information about the origins and extent of the anti-regime protests is difficult to find.
But there is a good deal of evidence of extreme dissatisfaction with the regime due to economic stress.
...Throw in cell phone service, clothing, fruits and vegetables, and one or two meat meals a month, and an Iranian couple will require two average salaries.
According to official data, food price inflation was 28% year-on-year as of December.
Medicine is another matter...
... the number of babies born in Iran fell by nearly 25% between 2015 and 2019.
That short-term decline in absolute numbers of births is unprecedented outside of wartime.
...As I have reported in the past, Iran faces a demographic crisis over the next two decades as its population ages rapidly.
...Iranians face desperate conditions,  if not actual hunger..."

"The slogan once plastered outside the Rev. Clarence Smith Jr.’s storefront church on Chicago’s West Side promised to make the ”ministry meaningful to the imperfect man.”
It turns out Smith has been far from perfect himself, federal authorities allege.
Smith, who has led the New Life Impact Church in the Lawndale neighborhood for years, has been indicted on charges alleging he stole hundreds of thousands of dollars from a federal program intended to feed needy children, spending the money on a $142,000 Bentley luxury vehicle and other personal expenses..."

Pelosi said today:
– Trump won't be president next year "one way or another"
– Dems may "have him removed sooner" than the election
– Trump "will be impeached forever"

It's clear: Impeachment was a Democrat hit job to stain Trump’s legacy and hurt him at the polls. Nothing more.

Heroic Dad Leads Revolt to Pull Kids Out of School Mandating Trans Access to Opposite-Sex Bathrooms
"North Manchester, Ind., a tiny conservative town that resides in a county that voted 72% for Donald Trump, is embroiled in the cultural battle of their lives.
In December, parents of students at North Manchester Elementary found out that the school was allowing a biological boy to use the girls' bathroom without notifying parents or passing any policy that was debated in a public meeting.
As a result, multiple families pulled their children out of the school at the urging of Nate Gephart, a father turned activist who had finally had enough.
Image result for Stand Tall QuotesThe superintendent, Dr. Teresa Gremaux, claims that federal law under Title IX is forcing the school to allow a tiny minority of gender-confused children to invade the privacy of everyone else.
"Transgender students must be allowed to use the restroom and locker room that corresponds with their gender identity," Gremaux said in a statement.
"Manchester Community Schools accommodates any student who is uncomfortable with such practices by providing an alternate facility to use."
This is simply nonsense.
Federal law does not require any such thing.
Here's what Title IX says.
No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance.
Sex refers to biological sex, not perceived gender.
Students asked to use the bathroom that corresponds with their biological sex are not being discriminated against, but are, in fact, being treated equally with other members of their sex. Title IX has nothing to do with gender identity.
To claim that it does is a lie..."

"When I was a kid — like 7-8 — we lived in the married student apartments at Holden Green, right on the Somerville line.
Somerville was a pretty tough neighborhood then, and kids would come over and steal our bikes.
I organized the neighborhood kids so that whenever one of them showed his face in our area, all the kids would scream “teenagers! teenagers!” (that’s what we called them, though they were probably more like 11 or 12) and throw rocks at them.
We weren’t really big enough to hurt them, but we sure were annoying, and made it a lot harder to nonchalantly steal someone’s bike.
Bike thefts declined sharply.--Posted by
