"SEATTLE – Seattle would need $5,400 per taxpayer to dig itself out of a ‘financial trench’ and pay all of its bills.
That’s according to a new report that analyzed the fiscal health of the nation’s largest 75 cities.The Emerald City ranks the 44th worst and earned a “D” grade for its financial health.

Meaning, if retirement benefits and other costs aren’t reduced, taxpayers will have to pay that amount in future taxes without receiving those benefits..."
