Kayleigh McEnany turns tables on media for questioning upcoming Trump rally over COVID concerns - TheBlaze:

White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany was questioned repeatedly by reporters on Wednesday over concerns that an upcoming rally for President Donald Trump's re-election campaign might spread the coronavirus.
But McEnany was quick to point out the media's double standard regarding COVID-19 precautions, as massive protests have continued to rage without such criticism since the death of George Floyd last month in Minneapolis.
What are the details?

Fake news on film by Mark Judge | The New Criterion
"The new film Mr. Jones makes a statement that critics of the media will enthusiastically support.
The movie, which opened in Europe in 2019 and will be available to stream stateside on June 19, focuses on the work of Gareth Jones, a Welsh journalist who in the early 1930s revealed the lies told by Stalin and the Soviet propaganda machine about the Ukraine famine—in which millions of people were starved to death in the name of “modernizing” Russia.
Mr. Jones reminds viewers that the Western press has an appalling record of dishonesty and sympathy to totalitarian regimes, an especially relevant message in our era of “fake news.”...

...Once in Moscow, Jones realizes that Stalin’s collectivization is a fraud perpetrated by a criminal government and propped up by sympathetic journalists from the West.
These include one Walter Duranty, the oleaginous, established correspondent for The New York Times.
...The journalist Joseph Alsop once called Duranty a “fashionable prostitute” for the Bolsheviks, and to British writer Malcolm Muggeridge, who was blackballed by many British newspapers after reporting the truth from Russia, Duranty was “the greatest liar of any journalist I have met in fifty years of journalism.”
But the Soviet sympathizer won a Pulitzer Prize in 1932 for his exclusive interviews with Stalin.
To defend everything from mass starvation to the show trials of 1928, 1934, and 1936, Duranty had a simple response, parroting Robespierre: “You can’t make an omelet without breaking eggs.”

When a movement believes that toppling a statue of someone who has been dead for centuries will change anything

Consumers Dislike Corporate Virtue Signaling | Gen Z ConservativeFans of Best of the Web Today--Michael Smith
"When a movement believes that toppling a statue of someone who has been dead for centuries will change anything they experience today, it gives insight into the weakness of the basis for the movement.
Similarly, when in contemporary times people seek to appease the same movement through symbolic acts of contrition, it exposes their own weakness of character and reveals that the act of “contrition” is not true contrition at all, only a public showing of how “sensitive” they are.
In other words, it is not about assuaging the feelings of the alleged aggrieved people, it is about showing others in the appeasement crowd how virtuous the appeaser is.
It is sad and disheartening to watch because appeasement never works, and we know that...

Where are all the guns and ammo purchased under Obama? - American Thinker
"During the last two years of the Obama administration, some unusual purchases were made.
Large quantities of ammunition were purchased, as were firearms, mostly for somewhat obscure agencies or agencies with no real need for such weaponry.
While Durkan abdicates authority, autonomous zone hands out AR-15'sEstimates are that over 1 billion rounds of ammunition were ordered, which resulted in making ammunition scarce for the normal civilian market.
Also significant was Obama's troublesome statement made during his campaign, as follows
We cannot continue to rely only on our military ... we've got to have a civilian security force just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded.  We cannot continue to rely only on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives we've set.
What national security objectives?
Looking below, we can see he was arming agencies under his Executive Branch control.
The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service spent $4.77 million purchasing shotguns, 7.62mm caliber rifles, night-vision goggles, propane cannons, liquid explosives, pyro supplies, buckshot, LP gas cannons, drones, remote-control helicopters, thermal cameras, military waterproof thermal infrared scopes and more.
The SBA loaded up their arsenals with Glock pistols.
The Fish folks spent approximately $410,000 on their Glocks and rifles and modified their Glocks with silencers.
The Department of Health and Human Services was outfitted with sophisticated weaponry normally carried by Special Forces, stored at an undisclosed location.
Others include:
  • Department of Energy: approximately $50,000 worth of M-16 fully automatic rifles
  • General Services Administration: approximately $16,000 in shotguns and Glocks
  • Bureau of Reclamations: approximately $697,000 for firearms and ammunition
  • EPA: almost $70,000 for ammunition
  • Smithsonian: approximately $42,500 for ammunition
  • Social Security: approximately $61,000 for ammunition
  • $426,268 on hollow-point bullets, including orders from the Forest Service, National Park Service, Office of Inspector General, Bureau of Fiscal Service, as well as Drug Enforcement Administration, U.S. Marshals, and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.  The latter three, sure, but the Forest Service, National Park Service, and Inspector General's Office?
  • Bureau of Engraving and printing: approximately $100,000 on firearms
  • U.S. Mint: almost $180,000 for ammunition
  • Bureau of Fiscal Services: approximately $672,000 on ammunition and firearms
  • Department of Agriculture: $1.1 million for weapons and ammunition
We are now seeing anarchist groups like Antifa, BLM, and others carrying nice weaponry.
Just look at a recent photo of a CHAZ resident with his tricked-out AR-15 or M-16...

REPORT: DOJ to Propose Rolling Back Big Tech's Legal Immunity

REPORT: DOJ to Propose Rolling Back Big Tech's Legal Immunity:

Image result for flickr commons images facebook logoAs Big Tech platforms have grown increasingly interested in censoring content posted by their users, however, many lawmakers have argued that they are behaving like traditional publishers, censoring and editing and approving their users’ posts. As such, a growing number of lawmakers have argued that the legal immunities of Section 230 should be contingent on platforms maintaining a hands-off approach to the speech of their users.
Another problematic element of Section 230 is subsection c-2, which grants tech companies immunity from lawsuits arising from their censorship of “objectionable” content. This immunity gives them broad leeway to censor users, leaving no legal recourse for those who are censored — even if their social media accounts are critical to their livelihood or career.
However, according to the Wall Street Journal, the Justice Department’s proposals go beyond merely addressing the question of censorship:

Corporate America's Strategy Of Mob Appeasement Will Destroy it

Corporate America's Strategy Of Mob Appeasement Will Destroy it
"Twenty-six years ago, Morgan Stanley hired Marilyn Booker as their first diversity director...
Now Booker is leading a group of black women in suing the company...charging that the firm systematically discriminates against black employees.
The suit comes after a notably active week for the investment bank’s activism.
Since Black Lives Matter blasted back into our Alzheimer’s-addled news cycle, Morgan Stanley’s chief executive, James Gorman, committed $25 million to a new internal “diversity” effort, sent $5 million to the NAACP, promoted two black women, and sent an email about it all to staff. For his efforts, he was personally named in Booker’s lawsuit.
See the source imageBut Morgan Stanley is not uniquely stupid for empowering an activist whose sole job was to call them racists.
For decades, corporate America has launched similar efforts in the vain hope that money, press releases, and choice divestments could virtue-signal them out of the mob’s cross-hairs and even hurt their competitors.
None of it saves them.
On the contrary, moves to embrace the mob have placed corporations more clearly in their sights than they were before.
At root is the reality that corporations are cowardly, and there’s a reason for that.
...The list goes on, but one thing remains constant: Soon enough, as company after company and job after job are forced to climb to the guillotine, the corporations paying the bills get closer and closer to the front of the line.
The left employs this tactic because it works.
...Now the mob is both inside the door and at it, its supporters running H.R. departments and manning diversity posts while boycotting, threatening and suing from outside...

"1/ Very impressive press conference Tuesday from Florida @govrondesantis, where he explained in depth why no one should panic over the state’s increase in positive tests. Notably: the median age of cases has PLUNGED, from 65 to 37. Daily deaths have trended down for months...
2/ And outside nursing homes, almost no one in Florida is dying of #Covid anymore. (Statewide, more people over 90 than under 65 have died; no one under 18 has died.) Further, the state has far fewer #Covid patients in ICUs or on ventilators than two months ago.
3/ DeSantis’s tone and command of the facts was also impressive - he seems to know about every county and hospital in the state. He was reasonable about masks too, said the state recommends them inside but won’t require them, he thinks a law “would be applied unevenly.” (True.)
4/ And he pointed out Florida never had more than 3.5% of hospital beds occupied with #Covid patients and still has many more beds available than before March. Translation: lockdowns aren’t coming back.

A great antidote to panic and well worth a watch.
5/ True story, btw: I watched the video to the end - and @youtube's next-up autoplay was Hillary Clinton/Benghazi testimony (no, I didn't watch it, but I accidentally grabbed that URL). Which tells you everything you need to know about YouTube's algorithms.

Man gets fired for racist gesture, but he says he was just cracking his knuckles; accuser changes tune - TheBlaze:

Image result for free clip art knuckle CrackingCafferty told KNSD that he was simply cracking his knuckles.
"I do that a lot when I'm driving," he said. "It has no racist intent behind it."
Shortly after the tweet with his image went viral, Cafferty was suspended from his job and told that an investigation was underway. A few days later, SDG&E gave him a pink slip and sent him packing.
Cafferty was flummoxed, telling KNSD, "When my supervisor said that I was being accused of doing a white supremacist gesture, that was baffling."
"I was confident that I would be able to — with my character — show SDG&E that I'm not a racist," he added.
"It's scary that you can be charged, tried, and convicted on social media without your permission, without no corroborating evidence of any type," he said.

Elect morons, ya get moronic leadership.-----'Nooses' in Oakland park were exercise aids, man says

Nooses' at Oakland park turn out to be swings; mayor says ...'Nooses' in Oakland park were exercise aids, man says
"OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) — Oakland’s mayor said five ropes found hanging from trees in a city park are nooses and racially-charged symbols of terror but a resident said they are merely exercise equipment that he put up there months ago.
Mayor Libby Schaaf said Wedesday that a hate crime investigation was under way after a social media post identified a noose at the city’s popular Lake Merritt. Police said they searched the area on Tuesday and found five ropes attached to trees.
...They have been removed by city officials.
Victor Sengbe, who is black, told KGO-TV that the ropes were part of a rigging that he and his friends used as part of a larger swing system.
He also shared video of the swing in use.
“Out of the dozen and hundreds and thousands of people that walked by, no one has thought that it looked anywhere close to a noose. Folks have used it for exercise. It was really a fun addition to the park that we tried to create,” Sengbe said.
...Schaaf said officials must “start with the assumption that these are hate crimes.”
However, the mayor and Nicholas Williams, the city’s director of parks recreation, also said it didn’t matter whether the ropes were meant to send a racist message.
“Intentions don’t matter when it comes to terrorizing the public,” Schaaf said.
“It is incumbent on all of us to know the actual history of racial violence, of terrorism, that a noose represents and that we as a city must remove these terrorizing symbols from the public view.”...
