China Suffering Mass Blackouts Following Aussie Coal Embargo

China Suffering Mass Blackouts Following Aussie Coal Embargo

"h/t mwhiteGWPF

Millions of Chinese are suffering severe power supply problems, brownouts and blackouts. According to media reports the problems have been caused by fuel shortages, following Chinese President Xi Jinping’s embargo of Australian coal imports.

Beijing’s trade war with Australia spectacularly backfires as China is plagued by electricity woes plunging millions into darkness – after it refused delivery of $1billion of Aussie coal

  • Beijing blacklisted imports of Australian coal as part of the trade war last month
  • Some 80 ships carrying $1.1b worth of coal are sitting off the Australian coast
  • Coal prices have skyrocketed in China as domestic supply struggles to keep up
  • Now provincial governments are imposing restrictions on electricity usage
  • There are power outages and limits of heating and AC use during the cold winter

This is not the first time the Xi Jinping regime’s policies have caused catastrophic Chinese energy supply and home heating problems. In 2018 Northern China suffered severe heating shortages in the middle of a bitterly cold winter, thanks to Xi Jinping decreeing that everyone should switch from coal to natural gas. Nobody checked whether there were sufficient gas supplies to service the converted heating appliances...Read all.

Granholm’s Green Energy Boondoggles No Bar To Selection As Biden’s Energy Secretary

Granholm’s Green Energy Boondoggles No Bar To Selection As Biden’s Energy Secretary
"...She wrote in an email on Nov. 8, 2008: “As we briefly discussed, in Michigan I have focused like a laser on replacing our dwindling manufacturing jobs with clean tech and renewable energy jobs.”
...When promoting her credentials for the job in 2008, Granholm mentioned several green energy companies she had used state taxpayer money to subsidize.
  • Michigan is proud to partner with Mascoma as part of our commitment to lead the nation in alternative energy production,” Granholm quoted herself in the leaked WikiLeaks email that was released in 2016. Mascoma was awarded $26 million from the U.S. Department of Energy and $23.5 million from the state of Michigan to convert biomass into ethanol. In 2008, the company said that by the end of 2012 it would have 70 people working in a facility to be built in Kinross Township in Chippewa County. The facility was never built.
  • Granholm also cited United Solar Ovonic in her pitch. “United Solar Ovonic is a great example of the type of investment needed to ensure Michigan’s economic success in the 21st century,” Granholm quoted herself. The company was said to be a manufacturer of flexible thin-film modules, and was approved for a $17.3 million state tax credit in 2008, to be paid out over 20 years. According to Granholm, United Solar Ovonic would create 700 Michigan jobs. But instead, it went out of business.
Granholm also oversaw several other green energy failures.
  • For example, a company called A123 Systems had claimed it could create 3,000 jobs at an advanced battery plant in Livonia. Then-President Obama phoned into a September 2010 Granholm press conference to promote the company. A123 Systems eventually filed for bankruptcy in October 2012 and was bought by the Chinese company Wanxiang Group.
  • Azure Dynamics, a hybrid electric technology company in Oak Park, and
  • Evergreen Solar, a solar power company in Midland, also promised jobs under Granholm’s tenure. They went out of business a few years later."

Mike Rowe Opposes Student Loan Forgiveness - Louder With Crowder

Yes, the guy who rails against the insane cost of college disagrees with this plan. Especially after some say the pandemic exposed how unnecessarily expensive college is. There are many wonky reasons why loan forgiveness is a bad idea. Top of the list is it only encourages colleges to make tuition more insane. But Rowe offered a reason more likely to resonate with the American people.

This is the sneaky game.

Janet Shagam-- "This is the sneaky game.
Congress uses vague wording but the actual details are written later.
Sue & settle comes into play.
Govt. agencies are sued to force the implementation of the vague laws to the standards demanded by those suing.
It's a game.
They are friendly lawsuits where those suing - usually activist organizations - essentially write the standards that businesses & citizens This is the sneaky game.have to obey.
FTA - "AEA has obtained a page from a discussion draft dated December 13 at 5:28 PM that appears to include a provision from the Green New Deal-like energy legislation, H.R. 4447, making it a “Sense of Congress” to call for 100% of power demand to come from “clean, renewable, or zero-emission” energy sources.
Information around these terms, or how they would be implemented, appears to be left intentionally vague.
Putting Congress on record supporting 100% renewables is a major statement of policy and it should not be tacked onto a massive spending bill with no discussion or debate warns AEA.
To make matters worse, this provision appears to give the Secretary of Energy a blank check authorization from Congress to impose 100% renewables."...Read all!

Michigan legislature committees subpoena election evidence from Detroit and nearby suburb | Just The News

Concerned about possible election evidence being destroyed, members of a joint session of the Michigan Legislature’s House and Senate oversight committees on Tuesday voted to issue subpoenas to Detroit and the nearby suburb of Livonia demanding they surrender hard drives, emails, absentee voter counting board laptops and other election-related materials.

One Senate Democrat reportedly joined his Republican colleagues in supporting the subpoenas.

  • A student re-attached a fallen note of support to a staff member’s door.
  • Then her university investigated her for harassment.
FROSTBURG, Md., Dec. 14, 2020 — How far will a university administration go to retaliate for bad press?
At Frostburg State University, the answer is chilling.
Student reporter Cassie Conklin must have ruffled some administrative feathers for covering criticism of the Maryland university’s COVID-19 response for the student newspaper.
After video showed her re-attaching a fallen note to a staff member’s door during a campus protest, she found herself the target of a baseless harassment investigation by the administration...
...Administrators accused Conklin of slipping a threatening note under the door of the staff member who was the subject of the student demonstrations and Conklin’s Oct. 21 story.
The university said they had video evidence to prove the allegations (the video actually proves Conklin’s innocence), and directed the newspaper to investigate and punish Conklin...Read all.

'Are you gonna pay my rent?': California restaurant owner explodes at health dept. workers citing him for defying closure order - TheBlaze

The owner of a restaurant in Ventura, California, exploded in anger at a couple of health department workers who issued him a citation Monday over his refusal to close and thus "breaking" the "law."

A news outlet's video camera was already at Nick the Greek for an interview with owner Anton Van Happen — and it picked up the highlights of him reading the riot act to the officials enforcing far-left Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom's new COVID-19 order requiring restaurants to serve only takeout and delivery.

  • and outreach efforts where officers attempt to get the homeless into shelters...Read all.
