Charlie Brown Christmas Special: An Inside Job - The Atlantic

Charlie Brown’s Inside Job
  • What gives the 1965 Peanuts special its staying power?
"...For half a century, it’s been one of the most significant phrases in American Christianity.
A prelude to something sacred in an unlikely place: the Gospel of Luke, King James translation, as recited by Linus van Pelt in A Charlie Brown Christmas.
...My earliest grasp of how Christianity worked came from the Charlie Brown Christmas special—funny, cool, beloved by all.
The special was first broadcast in 1965...Read all.

Prominent Democratic lawyer predicts 2022 litigation aimed at removing Republican House of Representatives members from their seats - TheBlaze

Prominent Democratic lawyer predicts 2022 litigation aimed at removing Republican House of Representatives members from their seats - TheBlaze:

His prediction, therefore, is more than idle speculation, and may in fact be a trial balloon for an actual Democratic strategy. On Twitter earlier this week, Elias said, "My prediction for 2022: Before the midterm election, we will have a serious discussion about whether individual Republican House Members are disqualified by Section 3 of the 14th Amendment from serving in Congress. We may even see litigation."

I think we lost him years ago!-----Dad tells Biden, 'Let's go Brandon' during Christmas Eve call

Dad tells Biden, 'Let's go Brandon' during Christmas Eve call
"Things went off script when President Biden and first lady Jill Biden spoke with children and NORAD officials who are tracking Santa Claus on Christmas Eve.
A dad who identified as Jared from Oregon closed his family's call with the Bidens by saying, "Let's go Brandon," a phrase that disparages the president.
...It's now used to mock both Biden and the media for not understanding those who oppose the president, and as a euphemism for that more vulgar chant.
"Let's go Brandon, I agree," Biden responded.
The president followed up by asking where Jared's home was, but no one responded.
"I think we lost him," Biden said."...Audio at link.

The Inspiring True Story Behind This Classic Christmas Carol

The Inspiring True Story Behind This Classic Christmas Carol:

The winter of 1863 was a grim one for American poet Henry Wadsworth Longfellow—it was a grim one for the entire country. The Civil War had been raging for two years. Communities across the nation lay blanketed in an aching grief. Like years previous, Christmas had come. But it’s hard to believe it was much of a cheery one.

Fox's Jesse Watters flattens 'clown' Dr. Anthony Fauci after Fauci called for his firing over 'more than clear' metaphor: Report - TheBlaze:

Film Industry Rakes in $1.2 Billion From Federal Contracts
"While thoughts of the film industry evoke images of the historic Hollywood sign on Mount Lee overlooking the Los Angeles stars below, some film companies have worked with the U.S. government for years, collecting taxpayer money.
Between 2008 and 2021, $1.2 billion in taxpayer money was spent on video production and distribution and other related filming categories, according to our auditors at OpenTheBooks, who looked at federal spending records from that time...Read all!

Democrat congresswoman who voted to defund the police gets carjacked and robbed at gunpoint in broad daylight - TheBlaze:

A U.S. Congresswoman from Pennsylvania might regret voting for a "defund the police" bill after she was the victim of an armed carjacking incident in Philadelphia. Police say Mary Gay Scanlon was carjacked at about 2:45 p.m. on Wednesday after attending a tour with other members of Congress.

Perverting our history, read it all!-----‘Problematic’ statue of Teddy Roosevelt removed from Museum of Natural History in New York City

‘Problematic’ statue of Teddy Roosevelt removed from Museum of Natural History in New York City
"The summer of 2020 wasn’t just about riots — it was the height of statue frenzy as well.
...It was problematic, you see, because the statue of Abraham Lincoln helping lift a slave out of his chains looked racist to some people.
Boston removed its Emancipation Memorial last December because it was making residents and visitors “uncomfortable” all of a sudden.
There was a similarly problematic statue of Teddy Roosevelt in front of the American Museum of Natural History in New York City.
It showed Roosevelt on a horse with a black man and a Native American walking alongside.
Equity would demand that they all have horses.
But it’s no longer New York’s problem, as it’s being packed up and shipped to North Dakota where it will be displayed at the Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library...Read all!

Horowitz: The indefensible approval of Pfizer and Merck drugs compared to the snubbing of ivermectin - TheBlaze

Horowitz: The indefensible approval of Pfizer and Merck drugs compared to the snubbing of ivermectin - TheBlaze:
Later this week, the FDA plans to approve, as the first outpatient COVID drugs, therapeutics that are extremely dangerous and unproven, even as the agency goes to war against cheap, safe, and proven drugs with a track record of no serious adverse events. The approval is as shocking as it is revealing and should serve as a warning to those who don’t believe the FDA would approve vaccines that aren’t safe and effective.
